This place has been in business for so many years. I remember great memories in my childhood going to this place with my parents and family. Now that I have my own family, it is a nice treat to be able to come here and get some great burgers and fries. Wishing this was closer to the east side of Chula Vista, but it's not too far of a drive. It is well worth the wait and well worth the drive. Great burgers and fries! The customer service displayed by the young lady waiting on us was awful. She did not accept our coupon and basically forced us to purchase 6 mozzarella sticks instead of 4. Best fries ever! I get the XL fries which is put into like a drink cup. So good seasoned and crispy fries. Come here just to grab these delicious fries. The food is very cheap but it is ehh but the fries drool. Burgers ehh they ok nothing special not too great. Chicken nuggets be real cheap but they are also made cheaply of this like sponge material. service is fast. Appearance is ehh. Little shack with no inside. I would have given them zero stars if possible. What is really aggravating is fast food workers now are making $15.00 hr. The fast food Industry was never intended to be a career. It was to teach young people work ethics. But this place seriously needs to fix their customer service, I get that I ordered food pretty late (1AM they close at 2AM) but the excuse that "this place doesn't make the food till the postmates driver gets there" is complete and utter disrespect to your customer. Ok... So I've eaten here before, love it. Except for today, i ordered a Rallys burger, fries, mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks and fries were very good, hence the two stars. Little Place, Big Taste is their motto. Fast food burger place with 2 drive thru-s. I think they serve all of their burgers with 2 patties. LIKES: I like how there are 2 drive thru-s. Their fries are seasoned and oh so yummy. I ordered the fish sandwich and it had 2--not 1--but 2 fish patties! However, the taste was meh. Nothing special other than the fact that there's 2 patties. I was bored this Saturday and decided to try a new, quick place. I arrived here at 12:43pm on heart attack corner, where surrounding you are the Rally's, a Carls Jr., a Chuch's Chicken, a taco shop, and a defibrillator station. I got a heart attack driving through the area, but luckily I was able to make it to the defrib station and made myself alive again, and proceeded through on to the drive thru. After careful consideration I ended up with a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and a diet coke since I almost died a few minutes earlier. The burger itself was pretty average, and probably not the way I'd want to die next time. The lettuce/tomatoes/pickles overwhelm the underwhelming patty just a bit, along with the thin pieces of bacon. The fries were great though, they reminded me of Popeye's which have always been my favorite fast food fries, another place in which I got multiple heart attacks. read more

Rally's gets five stars for 'appearance' of this location; neat decor and very clean-looking outside. They're also open until 2am -wow!! The service was fast...but also short and rude. When I rolled up to the speaker, the cashier greeted me, "Welcome to Rally's can I take your order"? "Yes, I'd like to 4 for $3 deal..." "With which sandwich"? "With the Rallyburger with cheese". "Anything else"? "Yes, I'd also like a large fry". "Ok that will be $4.32 at the window straight ahead of you". (Actually, straight ahead of me was an opened, gross-looking trash dumpster but anyway...) When we arrived at the window, we were greeted by a cashier who couldn't stop yawning (he is obviously too cool to be working there) and stated, "$4.32". The food and drink was handed out quickly, followed immediately by "Have a nice day". Then, as I performed a quick check of the contents of the bag, the cashier asked, "Do you want some ketchup"? "No thanks". "Have a nice day" he repeated (yes, I get it, I'm sitting on your timer and you want me to leave. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to be your customer today and contribute to your employment). Finally, the food. The Coke was ice-cold (excellent) and everything else was luke-warm (the burger, fries and apple pies). The Rallyburger tasted bland and had very little condiments. But the fries were flavorful (albeit only warm). I really do enjoy Rally's (when they're on their game), but tonight they weren't. The best odds for decent Rally's food in San Diego seems to be the Escondido location ('though they can be hit or miss too). But both the Escondido and Chula Vista locations are much better options that the El Cajon location on East Main Street where there always seems to be a pretty good chance they will forget an item or two in your order. I got tired of the same old places that I usually go to so I did a quick search and saw that Rallys has a 4 for $4. When I got there there was no signage nor mention of 4 for $4 on menu. NOT what I remember... Growing up for the latter years of my youth in south SD, there was a time when Rally's were everywhere, and they were the best seasoned fries around.. Fast forward too many years, and their locations are harder to find than a pay phone booth, and now I realize why. Those wonderful season fries, along with everything else on their menu that I tried, comes with enough grease to lube an axel, and that isn't a good thing. We ordered the special 2x Philly Cheesesteak Burger for $5, and my oh my....I've become a fan. $2.50 for a burger better than $4+ from Carls Jr or McDonalds, why even bother visiting those that on the same street. Needed food, Rallys was there. We ordered two 4 for $4s, and an order of tacos. One with a Rallys burger and one with a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The food was good, wait time was short, plus they ran out of apple pies so they replaced one with an ice cream cone, so I got to try their ice cream which was good. The Chicken Sandwiche was better than the Rally Burger in all honesty. The fries were fresh, and the pie was good, very crusty so if you're into that...Rallys is the place for you. Another place that beings back childhood memories. Well almost. We had Checkers on the Easf coast. Some except for some naming conventions. I always appreciated that Checkers/Rally's seasoned their burgers well and that their fries were coated and seasoned. I had the American melt special. Very good except that the burger could benefit from using the 1/4 pound patties instead of the smaller ones to improve the meat to bun ratio. Talk about a serious gut-bomb! Sidekick Big Bite and I stopped by on one of my new weekend excursions home from Orange County. We drove by on our way to Northgate and I was drawn to Rally's by the reminder of their tasty fries. Well stupid me decided to order a burger too. Ugh! There was nothing pleasant about it. Nice change from your everyday McDonalds or Burger King if you're in the area. I don't frequent these places, but you can't always have time to cook or Don't skip the fries. They are the best. I went here last week and they added wings to the menu. I decided to give the garlic parm a try & I highly recommend them. Surprisingly delicious with the perfect crunch and right amount of meat. My brother questions how they were cooked so fast.. I decide not decide how to think how any fast food chains make their product. Not in the best part of town and seating is outdoor only so go for the drive thru when the sun is down. They charge extra for sauce. I was SO excited when I saw there was a Rally's by where I was shopping since I hadn't been there in forever. My family and I went through the drive-thru and not only did the lady mess up our order 3 times while we were ordering but when we got to the window, the lady still gave me the wrong drink, and barely even acknowledged me. We started to drive away and noticed we were missing a burger. We went back through the drivethru and the lady at the window was giving us a dirty look and then proceeded to tell us we didn't pay for that burger as she was looking at the receipt, which it was right there.. on the receipt. How hard is it to make two chicken sandwiches? It shouldn't take over 15 minutes to make such an order, especially since there were barely any other customers. To make matters even worse, the people who ordered after us received their order before we did, and they ordered a lot more than just two sandwiches. It wasn't until after 15 minutes did they decide to check up their order machine did they realize that they had not made our order yet. This whole time, the employees were just chilling and having a good time. I'm all for that, but at least do your job too. I counted around 7 employees in there. I only asked for two sandwiches. I love Rallys. The fries are DELICIOUS, they have a good spicy chicken sandwich and a chocolate dipped cone that could be a bit more savory but It passes. This location needs a facelift for sure, it's been there for decades and is one of the only places I know that has a drive thru on each side. The reason for the 4 stars is the lettuce. Every time I eat it tastes old. Doesn't look it but you can tell it's been in a bag for too long and can get a bit of a gross after taste. Other than that this is a good place to eat if you want seasoned fries or spicy boneless wings on a budget. read more
