Rude, inconsiderate I even tested to see if they were super busy I called again while in this store this time and watched the lady answer the phone not knowing I was in the store watching her. Why do they insist on blocking the aisles? It's already a small, cramped store, yet they put "special" sale items on displays angled to block the aisle. There is not one aisle in the entire market that doesn't have 2-3 displays angled so that more than one cart can get through. On the produce and m at sections, they block the aisles during the busiest shopping times with giant handcarts piled with boxes for restocking. Please restock when it is not busy. This place is a zoo, the Marina del Rey and La Tiera locations are much nicer. Heck, even Culver Center is nicer, although much busier. read more

Ralphs is pretty good! ruben in the deli is the man though. Always gives samples, easy to talk to, efficient and just an all around good guy which is rare! Most ralphs employess are cool until you ask them for green bag points and then they give you shit because they don't know how to input the data correctly. I never ask for that anymore which is annoying because I want the points. Ralphs produce is hit or miss, sometimes it might be fresh othertimes it might be moldy as crap the next day. The seafood/meat department guys are usually pretty cool and efficient. Never been to the pharmacy but ralphs is a pretty good place to go shopping overall, with fair prices. *The Ralph's employee's name is Laree. The day was Friday, July 23, 2021 between 11:40 and 12:15pm. I was meant with such stupendous customer service by a Ralph's employee. I've never seen her before prior to that day. I miss placed my receipt and don't remember her name. But she is tall, slim, Black American and seemed to be in her 20's. I observed how she helped the woman in front of me. She treated the lady with such kindness. I was kind of awestruck. I shop at this store often. I wouldn't say the customer service is bad but it could be so much better. The young lady im speaking of should teach a class in customer service. Hopefully she could show employees HOW to treat people who are taking their money and giving it to this grocery store. Good customer service seems like a thing of the past. Great service is close to impossible. When im treated like my money and time is appreciated it only makes me want to be a repeat customer. I don't think many employees, supervisors and managers comprehend that concept. Customers + money + repeat business means you can continue to get a steady paycheck. Understand? After months of yet another "remodel" and a complete shuffling of where products are located, I am finally just giving up completely on this Ralph's location. For whatever reason supermarkets do this, I understand it's part of doing business. Besides making it difficult to get around the store and find anything, why do they have to keep the entire store at a temperature that feels slightly above freezing? WTF? Who ever was responsible for moving the Hot Wheels toy display from the middle aisle near the check stands needs to rethink their idea. Hot Wheels are made for children 3 years and older. Why would anyone put the Hot Wheels display right in front of the double-swinging doors of the stockroom where rolling equipment, pallet jacks and the like, routinely come flying through those doors. There is no way employees in the stockroom can see children, let alone adults, that are on the other side of the doors looking at the Hot Wheels. read more

This is in regards to western union & to the two ladies who were at at the check out & the manager on duty. I had called at exactly 8:07am to confirm that they are open for western union. The gentlemen (who is the manager) said yes we are go ahead. I come on their property by 8:15. I tell the ladies I need to do western union and their faces change. They're like yeh it's not open yet. I called just a little while ago and the gentlemen said yes so is someone available? She goes I'll try calling him but he's busy doing payroll. After calling his extension and over the intercom a few times he finally picks up! He told her it's going to take a while about 15 minutes. Now I was doing western union for an emergency situation not just because I needed to send money for someone for fun. I told the ladies the situation and they made no attempt and all they could say was it's going to be 15 minutes or longer-no sympathy no express of sorry just he's busy doing payroll. There was a reason that i called. On the website for western union it says they open at 8:00 but this is the 3rd time where they've totally ignored their timing and avoid doing western union. To follow up I called the manger back later to figure out why he said yes he was going to do western union when I come and then tell the ladies he was doing payroll and it was going to take a while. When I spoke with him on the phone he denied what the ladies at the front said. He said I never said that I only said I was going to take a minute and I wasn't even working on payroll. Ralphs #284 has really gone downhill ever since the Manager (Robert) got transferred. He ALWAYS made sure his employees were doing the right thing. But now, this store is just passable. Not as great as it was. Don't get me started on Irma, the Latinas employee who used to work the U-scan area. Now that she's been promoted to manager, her attitude is even WORSE. And Robert is no longer there to put her in her place. There's a few really great employees, like this young black girl who works checkout...she always has a smile and is very friendly AND helpful. I don't know why Corporate moves managers around, especially when they're doing a GREAT job where they are. Robert made this store a wonderful place to shop. Now it's just mediocre. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in this area. Throughout this pandemic, they have been reliable to always have a stock of groceries for their customers to help get us through these crazy times. I left off one star just due to the need for better sanitization at the entrance with carts and at registers. The staff are friendly and they have a guard who makes sure people go in and out the correct entrance which helps with the flow. Thank you, Ralphs for being so reliable. read more

I normally come in the morning before class and stop at Starbucks. I went in after class for a cup of ice water and this short older lady with glasses and lipstick was rude after I received my cup of water. Definitely needs to watch her attitude, the other manager was definitely better. read more

BAKERY: This bakery is incompetent when it comes to special orders. This is my second cake order with this company and I should have learned my lesson from the first mistake. I had previously order two specialty cakes from this company. One white and one chocolate. They take it upon themselves to make the white cake a marble cake (I forget the reason). How are you going to change a cake flavor without contacting me? I was livid. We do cakes once a month at work and one person is allergic to chocolate. THIS TIME. I ordered two special cakes yesterday. I come in today and neither cakes are made. WTF?!?! These are birthday cakes. How do you just not make the cakes? If I wanted to have a premade cake, what was the point of me taking time out of my day to order a special one. Never again at this Ralphs. read more

I made a very poor decision this week. Instead of going to my usual grocery store, I stopped here. As I was rolling around with my cart mid-day, I couldn't help but think, I don't recall the last time I encountered so many rude inconsiderate fucks in one place! Literally it seemed like every single person stopped in the middle of the aisle, and even when I came up on them, still took their sweet time and didn't even bother moving their cart to the side. "Excuse me"s didn't work with this crowd! And this wasn't 5pm on a Friday or anything. Perhaps there's a certain apathy to 'making way' because this place jams their already-somewhat-narrow aisles with big cardboard displays of crap for no reason! Thus people are always having to dart and weave anyway, and completely blocking the aisle is of no concern. Then at the checkout, there was a black bagger vs. asian checker employee standoff. No shit, raised voices and everything. At first, when I was in line I actually thought they were being facetious, but when I got up there it had escalated to: "Don't insult me in front of the customers! It's not my fault this is my job!" "He doesn't need to be doing that!" "Oh are you the boss now!?" WTF, we aren't saving lives here, it's the fucking grocery store! But the best part was when I then walked out to my car and it was DENTED. Proving my point exactly. So going to this hellhole ended up costing me $500. Never again! read more

Whenever I go one of my favorite client's Culver City hills home, I pass by this Ralph's and take a look in my head at the running grocery list that I keep there. I always seem to need SOMETHING, like today, when I realized I had no fresh veggies in the house! A quick park in the ample parking lot, a walk around inside, and in ten-ish minutes I was in line with zucchini, carrots, spinach, nectarines (47 cents/lb on an 8-hour special!), ginger root, bananas, lemons, ricotta, yogurt and eggs. That was fast and easy - AND my mother would be proud of me for getting such a good deal on nectarines! I usually go to the Ralph's Fresh Faire on Olympic and Barrington, so this location is not quite as nice and new and elaborate. But it's so convenient, and so fast to get in and out of, that I'm definitely a fan! read more

Stopped by to pick up some theraflu on a Saturday afternoon. Ample parking. As I walked in I noticed a grand opening sign. Huh? I thought this Ralph's had been here! It seemed remodeled to me. Everything looked neatly arranged/organized and new. As soon as you walk in the cold medicine is to the right. There is no big aisle for it. Its more like a smaller section dedicated to that with mini aisles where you will also find dental care items, condoms and other things. Prices seemed reasonable. There were lines to pay but I went to the self checkout lane which was empty! Great Ralph's! I will come here again if I need anything and if I'm in the area. read more

Now that most SoCal supermarkets have service delis and coffee shops inside, it's amazing how different the foodservice is from store to store. And the reason this Ralphs got my attention is because I shop there most often and find the grocery operation consistently workmanlike. However, the last two times I have frequented the coffee station there, it was either out of coffee at about 10 a.m. or, as I most recently learned, it no longer offers any dairy product as a creamer--only those little containers of liquid Coffee Mate. I asked a service deli clerk if I could run to the milk section and snag a pint of half-and-half for the coffee station, but she said no cigar. So I left the prospective 20-oz., $1.89 cup full of black coffee at the station and headed for the little coffee shop in the Raintree center I've patronized in the past--only to find that it's out of business. The only option left in that center is Denny's, but since my route was taking me past the 7-11 on Overland and Palms, I decided to suck it up and wait till after Raintree. So, attention, coffee purveyors: There is currently no decent coffee operation in this fairly popular shopping center, and vacancies exist. By the way, the other shortcomings of this Ralphs are that the fried chicken can have a metallic taste, it doesn't carry instant Chinese hot mustard (but hardly any round-eye supermarkets do--go to Mitsuwa on Venice and Centinela), and if you're desperately seeking supermarket sushi late at night, you will almost assuredly be thwarted here. read more

I come here sometimes when I just need one thing and I don't feel like braving Pavilion's parking lot down the street. It's definitely easier to park here than in the other shopping center because there aren't any other popular places surrounding it. This is my neighborhood store. I'm here quite often. Typically their produce section has great selection and looks quality. Great deals on steaks often as well as pork and chicken. Seafood section could use a little more work in variety and freshness. The deli could use a little help too with regards to things such as their fried chicken. I got it once and it really tasted old. I look at it from time to time and it consistently looks old and over-fried. Great cheese selection and customer service for the most part. No one bitches about double bagging my groceries and workers are pretty helpful in helping find things. Lines aren't too long and they have self check-out. To all the ghetto low incomers(my self included).. stop trying to save a few dollars and start buying groceries that actually fit your tastebuds.Im only saying this because I'm one of those discount shoppers that has altered my taste according to whatever cheap grocery store item was on sale at the time.Im not saying Food For Less and Superior aren't good stores. I'm just saying Ralphs has their hidden little gems you'll never know anything about unless you shop there a lot. Fortunately I found this all out when I had a temp work assignment in the area and I had to buy my lunch every morning before my day started..This store is immaculately clean with super nice employee's that greeted me every morning and well stocked. The Kosher aisle is excellent for vegetarians and others that need products that are held to much stricter standards. On average you'll pay about a dollar or two more for the same different version of canned goods and fruit. That really isn't news considering how Ralphs is. Their bakery is kind of limited but that's only because they share that area with a small deli area. They have a small Asian food station that I would get my Tofu spring rolls from for about $4.99 2 or 3 times per week. They also sell Saki to accompany your Asian food cravings if you like. I don't think i seen any Soju for all you Soju fans..sorry. Speaking of liquor..this Ralphs may not have the best deli selection but it has an extensive liquor collection! It offers so much variety you could probably drink a different alcoholic beverage everyday and not repeat the same drink twice!..This alone should drive up business for all the hidden alcoholics. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store, and I am here probably once a week. There is always ample parking in the parking lot. The aisles are always clean, and shelves are neatly organized. I never see any food out of place. The bathrooms are always clean as well. I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 people in line at the registers. They are usually mindful of opening more cashiers when they get busy. They also have self checkout stations, if you are buying a few items. Their fried chicken is sooooooo good! read more
