Shopping in Westchester, California... Because there's no Trader Joe's in Hawaii, I usually make it a point to stop by when I'm on the mainland (Continental USA). This time, it was my first stop after getting the rental car. I needed breakfast, had to use the restroom, and wanted to get some gifts. All tasks were accomplished! I got some apples, snacks, hummus veggie wrap, summer rolls, frozen kimbap, and an insulated tote bag to haul them to my car! Thanks for the clean environment, well-stocked store, and friendly, helpful service! We even found the store mascot, Iggy, and got a prize! It was a productive visit! read more

The staff here are so helpful and pleasant, despite the craze and hype surrounding the newest drop of summer solid colored and striped mini cooler tote bags. Yes, they are super cute, and will make great gifts. Just fill with your favorite TJ treats! They always have something new - like everything to do with strawberries at the moment, the arrival of the fearless flyer, or, the return of the spicy cheese snacks! This store smartly staggered their drops- thank you! Not everyone can get there early in the morning to await their allotment of three coolers (your choice or one of each color being dropped). I learned from those in front of me that they went early in the morning and had gotten the other "set of colors", and were back in line for the next three to make a full set, one of each color! Nice! Stood in line for an hour (people in front were smart and had umbrellas for the sun) - so after shopping, I did wait in line to use their restroom. The staff and management were busy cleaning, and I had a chance to chat. I complimented them on their organization-there was signage outside (three tote max per adult in line), and the fact that they were sure to let customers know that they didn't need to wait in line to shop if they didn't want any totes. I also learned they don't mind the craze and hype-and the most time consuming task was answering the phone;(. Yikes, I admitted having called first to check - which makes sense as a customer- but it also makes sense that they'd need one person just to answer the phone to repeat their stock status and drop times. (Can't do a recording, because you'd miss the other important calls unrelated to a drop.). They said it is literally hundreds of calls, which takes away from their regular tasks. I picked up water and more treats for the office in addition to the bags. Did I mention that my co-worker wanted one of each of the striped colors? Ummm, hard to do unless you're here for a couple of days and can revisit stores or something, ha ha! Nonetheless, my son is getting his favorite TJ treats, as will my office. This TJs had everything I needed and was fully stocked with several food and snack items I couldn't find in other locations which was super helpful. Really well organized with clean aisles. Friendly service at everything location is what they're known for and this is no exception. Drew specifically who checked me out at the counter with my shopping basket was super friendly and checked that I had everything I needed. Parking maybe is a bit tougher as this is an older strip mall that has turned over several times and spaces are a bit tight so watch out for fast drivers! read more

It's been over 15 years or so since I was last at this TJ location. It use to be my neighborhood spot when I was living in Playa Del Rey. Fast forward to now, I was in the neighborhood and needed a couple of things. It's still pretty much the same. Part of a strip mall with a few other shops and take out places. The main and bigger store is now out of business which there's more parking. It's one of the smaller stores so it does get really crowded and is quite busy. Even the parking infront is a tight squeeze. It's pretty narrow and they're all one way. But the store itself, small but busy. It's on the upper level so stairs and a ramp is available for the carts. There's the entrance and exit but the way it's set up in the floral department is right in the middle so it does get cramp. Plus the exit has to walk through the floral to get out so with carts and people looking at plants, it's a traffic jam. Que in Alanis Morissette...lol... But the selection they have, it's better than a lot that I've been to. Inside, I feel like the aisle is pretty tight as it's a small store. Have to cram everything in that they carry. Register is to the left and produce along the wall to the right and the isles right when you walk in. Even though it's a smaller store, they do have everything pretty much in stock. Whatever I came for they had. Just like all the stores I've been, the staff were all amazing and very friendly. Sunday probably wouldn't be the best time to visit as it was full to the brim with shoppers. The weekend rush getting their groceries shopping done for the week. I've been going to this TJs since I was in elementary school and it's still my favorite to this day. The staff is always helpful. Everything is usually stocked and if it isn't they can tell when it'll be back. They have no issue putting things on hold for you if you call or ask in person. It definitely gets crowded just like all TJs but weekday mornings aren't bad at all and they restock during that time too so you'll have first dibs on things in store! read more

This location was very close to our hotel near LAX. Less than 10 minutes up the road and very convenient with other stores and restaurants in the same shopping center. It isn't a big store but they still have a lot of inventory and although it was busy the lines went quick. Most of all of the employees that we encountered were friendly. They made lots conversation and were welcoming. We decided to try a few things since we had a kitchenette at our hotel. We purchased several things that we haven't tried and others that we did and liked. We purchased: 1. Kimbap (If you like Kimbap, this is a good alternative. Not fresh but still yummy. I like it better than the Costco one and would get it again.) 2. Soup Dumplings (Ginger & Chicken and Pork) Simple, just place in the microwave and wallah. 3. Pork Shumai (has a little sweetness but so tasty and we enjoyed it) 4. Chicken Marsala with Mash Potatoes (This was surprisingly delish and better than we expected. Microwavable as well. The flavor was really good and the chicken and mushrooms didn't seem as though it was heated in the microwave.) 5. Coffee Ice Cream with Brownie Sandwiches - This was okay. I liked the ice cream but did not care for the brownie part of it. 6. Mini Vanilla Ice Cream Cones - Yummy and not so bad since they are mini. Great store! I love Trader Joe's. This location is in Westchester near LAX. I work at LAX so it's an occasional stop for me for dinner supplies. Since I had an appointment in the late morning before work and stopped by between the appointment and start of my shift. Great selection, good prices, and high quality food. Friendly and cheerful staff make shopping a pleasure. Add to that the interesting and unique food offerings and I can usually pick something up on impulse because it looks so good that I can't help but try it. I don't shop at this location often but when I do I'm glad for the location and convenience. read more

It's Trader Joe's. All TJ's are basically the same . Aside from the location and size of the store there really isn't much variation from location to the next. TJ'a has some of if not the absolute best seasonal items one could ever imagine. Now, depending on your budget and family size TJ's may not be the ideal place for every family to do their grocery shopping. But if you want to come and just try the seasonal items or one of a kind items that can only be found at Trader Joe's then you've come to the right place . read more

This has to be the worst Trader Joe's I've ever stepped into and I've been to plenty. The place was dirty, smelled off, and had a staff straight out of "Customer Service: The Untold Horror." Rude, sarcastic, and apparently allergic to helping anyone. My issue was simple: pricing. Or should I say, creative pricing? The shelf said one thing, the register said another, a nice little surprise markup at checkout. When I politely pointed it out, the cashier actually laughed and said they "hadn't gotten around" to updating the prices yet. Then, with the charm of a DMV line on a Monday, he added that the higher price was the correct one. And the kicker? He told me, "If you can't afford it, maybe you shouldn't be shopping here." Classy. I wasn't sure if he was joking or auditioning for "Mean Employees of America." Yes, he really said that. He blamed it all on tariffs, saying prices change every few days -- which, sure, might be true, but that's not really my problem. At that point, I decided $1.45 cents on imported liquor, wasn't worth my blood pressure. Still, I walked out feeling disappointed. This used to be a friendly, neighborhood Trader Joe's, the kind where staff knew your name and smiled like they meant it. Now it feels like a bad parody of itself. Great local Trader Joe's! Pros: great neighborhood location surrounding other businesses in Westchester. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Good bang for your buck. Omg if you haven't tried the GF/DF chocolate donut holes - what are you waiting for! Cons: avoid coming here (if you can) on Sunday's and high traffic times. The store is smaller and can be a total madhouse to navigate with a cart, plus the lanes in the parking lot are quite skinny and only one way so I recommend being very alert as your driving through and watch out for pedestrians. read more

Not much I can say about Trader Joe's, wherever they are, that you don't already know. All I can tell you about today is they have the brightest color insulated bags. For me, it makes a great carry bag when I'm traveling and I bought too many things stick it all in this bag and carry it. It's not often I leave a review for a grocery store, but I had a particularly great experience at this Trader Joe's last week. Amongst all the chaos of the mini TJ tote bags, I just needed some eggs. I walked in, saw the eggs were gone, and sighed. Alas, I settled for some bananas. But then! Joel C. at the register came through!! This kind young man let me know exactly when the eggs would be restocked. I ran back, got the eggs, and even treated myself to the chocolate covered celebration pretzels (to celebrate, duh). Joel basically saved my breakfast for the rest of the week. Sure, I didn't get a mini tote bag but I did get the eggs. So that's a win. Anyway, this is a solid Trader Joe's with plenty of free parking, clean, not crazy crowded, and overall a great spot. I will definitely be back (probably for more pretzels). read more

In LAX for a business trip and stop at this location to pick up some snacks and frozen food. This store was very busy and small compared to other TJ's I visited. This Trader Joe's has some awesome neighboring businesses- TJ Maxx, Panera, Kohl's with Sephora, CVS and Ross. Who doesn't love one stop shopping? It was busy and this store had some narrow aisles. People with carts had to carefully pass each other. Their alcohol section is also limited. I also didn't see a free sample stand like I have at other locations. Big floral and plant section though. What's consistent is what's most important, great prices, delicious, quality food and friendly service. read more

Buyer beware!!! In typical fashion, I got overcharged AGAIN. The overcharging happens on a regular basis, at all TJ's stores. If I'm not distracted, I look at the screen readout listing the charged purchases, and catch it on the spot. As an alternative, I look at the receipt BEFORE I exit the store. This happens very regularly and I point it out to a manager for a refund on the overcharged items. read more

Affordable groceries with friendly staff and lively environment! I have always been a fan of Trader Joe's! From their delicious cookie butter, to their wonderful KimBap, I have always loved their products! I visited the location at Westchester during my lunch break. The staff are always friendly and help with any inquiry I may have. Today, I was wondering if they had the blueberry elderflower drink. I called upon a store associate and they assured me they have some stock in the back. I waited only 15 seconds before they brought out the cold refreshing drink! At the register, you will find yourself in good company. Their 'Crew' make suggestions and compliment all the items you purchased. I thought I was content with just a kimbap and the blueberry elderflower drink-- but my cashier convinced me to also get the Norwegian swimmers. While this location is always clean and relatively well-stocked, it is insanely small for the amount of people that constantly come in. The parking lot itself is always kind of difficult as there's quite a few stores neighboring it. The store is very tiny and it's very difficult to go shopping with a cart because it basically takes up the whole aisle. I also noticed the last couple of times that a lot of the popular stuff runs out so it seems they don't have enough space to keep popular items well stocked. Overall the store is great it's just really frustrating how tiny it is because there's not many Trader Joe's within the area. Workers are generally always kind and helpful. read more

This TJs is noticeably tiny, but has pretty much everything you can get at most other stores. Bonus points from me because they had the mushroom medley. I went to two other stores and I couldn't find it until I came here. Every single TJs I've ever been to has sub par produce, and this one isn't any different. All the apples looked like they were throw down a flight of stairs before put on display. Same friendly staff you can find at all the locations! And the prices are still some of the best of any grocery store, even during this crazy time of record inflation. Parking sucks though. read more

I love Trader Joe's, they have a large assortment of cheeses at an affordable price. They feature many international wines or you can just grab a bottle of two buck Chucks a local California vineyard for a modest price. They have a wide variety of organic products and you won't leave your whole wallet at the cashier. Like many reviews, I've come to this Trader Joe's dozens of times and yet this is my first time giving a shout out to their Westchester Store. It's the most convenient location to all the LAX Hotels, can be easily accessed via the "Blue Bus" or if you drive, there's lots of free and ample parking that shares with the entire shopping center, and has the most jolliest cashier & clerks always seems to spark any type of conversation. For example I was wearing an "NCIS Hawaii" hat, and the clerk tells me that his girlfriend would love my hat as she's a huge fan of the show! Lol! I always give credit when credit is due. Service: 5/5 - Everyone at this location is friendly and always willing to help. Selection: 4/5 - I feel that other larger locations seem to carry more variations of frozen goods. This location has just about everything I normally need though. There have been a couple of occasions where they ran out of eggs, milk, salmon. *Seaside Trader Joe's* I've been a frequent grocery shopper at TJ's ever since their very 1st Westside location on Washington & Clarington in Culver City. I truly love TJ's and and was trilled & ecstatic when I found out last year they were coming to MDR. I can go on & on about this & that (like most of my other reviews ;) but I leave it at this: IMO TJ's is the very best bang for the buck when it comes to every single one of their items & products - especially organic. And they carry certain things I can't find anywhere else. Every team member working here is very friendly & helpful and it's apparent they enjoy what they do. My only gripe is the parking lot. But I've figured out ways to maneuver. You can't beat the location & the ocean view of the Marina Harbor. read more

I normally go to the one on Rosecrans because it's bigger and has more organic options. Last Friday after a long day at work, I decided to stop by thugs TJ which is located relatively close to my house. I was surprised how extremely attentive the staff was with me. I was in line for the cashier and I asked one of the employees for some caramel chocolates that I couldn't find. He immediately brought me 6 so I didn't need to loose my spot in line. Then the 2 cashiers were so unbelievable nice to me. Since COVID-19 started I don't like going anywhere wearing scrubs because I noticed people walked away as soon as they see me approaching. That Friday late afternoon I had a totally different experience. Customer service at this store is awesome, it makes me want to come back! read more
