I came here to grab some food. Easy to find parking. And found ice cream on sale on a hot day!

'Yolanda' front-end supervisor with a nasty streak. Does not like people with disabilities.
    Brad W.

This particular Ralph's has a front-end supervisor who is rude, abrasive, and has no clue how to act appropriately with someone with disabilities. I stood at the customer service desk for over ten minutes while a cashier and a courtesy clerk both tried to get this woman's attention to help me. She was standing by a storage closet talking about personal things and gossiping. When she finally did come over, I told her I had been waiting for some time and needed help. She rolled her eyes and said, 'Fine what do you want?' I asked her to make some change for me, and she pointed to the Coinstar machine and said, "There's a change machine over there." I told her I needed a person to help me, and asked, "I thought stores needed change?" She said, in a very nasty tone, "We use a BANK for that." She then walked away. I took my phone out to photograph her, and she yelled at me in front of everyone, "HAVE A NICE DAAAAY! no less than SIX TIMES. Then she yelled at me as she was following me to, "Get out of [her] store!" I walked across the store and left. She followed me outside and was contacting the Sheriff's Dept. and told them I was disturbing the peace and refusing to leave AFTER I was already outside the store. I went to the car to wait for my wife while she and another employee stood in the doorway staring at me. I texted my wife and told her what had happened. When my wife made it to the register they were talking about me and laughing. My wife asked them if they were talking about the man that just left, they said, "No, we are talking about Home Depot." My wife knew by what they were saying that they were talking about me so she informed them that I had a disability - autism, and that there was no reason for her to have treated me like that. Yolanda then said to her, "We have people with autism that come here all of the time - we KNOW how to 'handle' them. If a manager or higher level person reads this review, I believe this employee should be disciplined, retrained in complying with ADA, and sensitivity training. I WILL NOT be returning to this Ralph's location EVER. I will also tell as many people that will listen to NOT shop there. The Ralph's closest to my home, Indio, and Palm Desert Ralph's, both have courteous and helpful employees. Yolanda is rude, confrontational, lazy, and has no clue about customer service or ADA.

My experience usually with Ralphs is always good but today when I went into the bread aisle, and I was looking for some bread for the week I found this in the back. I don't know if I can trust how good the bread is here. I think they should be more cautious on what they have out. Just wanna let people know to doublecheck when purchasing bread here.

Quick, convenient, and always stocked with solid options. Definitely a go-to before heading out. The coconut cacao water is delicious !

I have NEVER been to a Trader Joe's that I didn't like…read more I mean, is there really anything not to like?? I mean I guess if you really disliked Aloha shirts. Or If you just really can't stand a good charcuterie board.... Then I completely understand, NOT!! Yeah... Trader Joe's is known for its Tiki-Hawaiian style vibe (hence the Aloha shirts worn by employees), unless they are in their more relaxed T.J. T-shirts, which still reps the Hawaiian vibe lifestyle. And why did I mention Charcuterie boards you ask?? The Cheese and meat selection is hands down the BEST!!! Trust me when I say... Your Charcuterie Board is going to be EPIC!! Cheeses from all over the world (and with an amazing price tag). And the meats... Yeah, your meat-loving party guests are going to appreciate you! But it's more than just the cheeses and the meats. It's the reasonable Produce, the Fresh Poultry, the Quality Beef and of course all of the amazing, fun, and unique private labeled goods that you will not find anywhere else. On top of that, their freezer section is a one aisled dream filled with frozen fruit, seafood, desserts and so many premade frozen foods for those of you always on the go or who are just are not culinary friendly. Hey, no shame in a frozen meal every now and again, but why not try cooking a meal with all of the fresh selections at TJ's. Pro tip for beginners: check out traderjoes5itemsorless on IG for some inspiration. Hey, I'm a damn good cook and I still sneak a recipe from here every now and then when I want to make a quick, easy meal. And lastly, what I dig about all Trader Joe's... Their incredible wine section with so many great wines from all over (local, regional and international). And very reasonably priced If I might add. ---------------------------- So let's talk Trader Joe's La Quinta! While visiting Palm Springs in early October 2025, we made our way over to La Quinta to check out a movie premiere. Before heading back to our hotel, we needed a restock on a little vino for the room. While driving, we spotted a Trader Joe's and we knew we would be in good hands. So we pulled off, I ran in and within 5 minutes I was on my way. Yes, that how convenient any Trader Joe's is. Store layouts are super easy to navigate and if you can't find something, one of their crew members is always around and willing to help. This locations exterior has a very desert vibe which matches the aesthetic of where it's at, the Coachella Valley and I liked it! Thank You Trader Joe's for being one of my favorite stores!

However, this week especially so: I had a very large request that was very labor intensive. When I told Alex what I needed, he simply said "not a problem, just give us a little bit of time and come back this afternoon ". I have been a loyal Stater Bros. customer for years, but my experience at the Palm Desert location…read more(Store #181) on July 8, 2026, was one of the worst grocery shopping experiences I've ever had. The problems started at checkout. I asked the cashier multiple times whether my Stater Bros. Rewards account had been found because my current phone numbers weren't recognized. I specifically asked if all of my sale prices and discounts had been applied. He repeatedly assured me everything was correct, even pointing to a tiny indicator on the register screen. Unfortunately, I was never given my receipt, so I had no way to verify whether the discounts were actually applied. (He told me my receipt was in my bag and it was not) What made matters worse was that the cashier seemed more interested in chatting with someone behind the register, and yelling accross registers about break time rather than paying attention to my transaction. The biggest problem happened when I got home. About $77 worth of groceries, including several heavy glass items, had been packed into only two bags that were paper and had handles. As soon as my son lifted one bag from the back of my SUV, the handles gave way and the entire bag burst open. Glass jars shattered across the sidewalk and our carport, under my car and neighbors cars and it was at 9:30pm, Alfredo sauce exploded everywhere onto other groceries, all over my sons' shoes, and across the concrete under cars and on the sidewalk. I cant believe broken glass scattered under parked cars. One of my sons even cut his foot while cleaning up the mess because glass had spread everywhere. Instead of bringing groceries into the house, we spent nearly an hour cleaning shattered glass and food. I had to go back out the following morning for another cleanup because there was still broken glass underneath vehicles. A member of our HOA even witnessed the aftermath and showed great concern. Thankfully I had my Visa transaction and took 21 photographs of galss everywhere documenting everything. This entire situation could have been avoided with attentive customer service, proper bagging, or even writing back to the three emails i sent to the emails that are on Stater Brothers on Varner road in Palm desert. I contacted Stater Bros. management and corporate with documentation and photographs and requested a refund, a copy of my receipt, verification of my Rewards discounts, and an investigation into what happened. It has been over two weeks and nothing. Customers shouldn't have to worry about whether their groceries will make it from the car to the house. This experience turned a routine grocery trip into damaged groceries, damaged personal property, an injured family member, and hours of cleanup. What concerns me most is that this store is located next to a very large senior community, with gated access that allows many residents to drive their golf carts directly to Stater Bros. to shop. I can't stop thinking about what could have happened if this had been an elderly customer shopping alone. I was fortunate to have my two sons there to help clean up shattered glass, spilled groceries, and the dangerous mess that followed. Many seniors simply wouldn't have been able to do that safely. What has been just as disappointing is the complete lack of customer service afterward. Despite contacting the store and corporate three separate times, not a single person called me or emailed me to discuss what happened. Being ignored after an incident like this only made the experience worse. Based on my experience, this Stater Bros. failed in several ways: poor employee training, improper bagging, failure to provide my receipt, an unresponsive store manager, and a corporate customer service department that never followed up despite multiple attempts to reach them. If you have elderly parents or loved ones who shop at this location, I would encourage them to shop somewhere else or, at the very least, use extra caution. Please take my experience into consideration before deciding to shop at this store. Very disappointing. I expected much better from a company I've supported for years.
