It's really bothersome that when I go to shop I always see one or two employees at this location wearing air pods - even just one!! This is not acceptable in any work place! Teach your employees what being at WORK means!!! My regular shopping store, but I'm feeling some ANTISEMITISM here. I'm not Jewish, but I do eat clean & healthy. We (my family & adult children) love Hebrew National hot dogs they are kosher & taste so good no ketchup or mustard needed. Been eating them for decades. The past couple mos. To my awareness, SB has stopped carrying them. I asked and was told they sold out & have been trying for a month to order & they are not available. Hmmmm....why is it I can go to Albertsons, Jensens, Vons, and guess what? No problem finding them. Returned again for shopping and still no Hebrew National hot dogs & again sane bs story! So Stater Bros is boycotting freakin hot dogs, are you kidding me? Or perhaps it's just the La Quinta location! Moving forward, I'm boycotting SB and shopping at Albertsons. read more

I purchased $200 worth of Carmel apples for my team members. During their shift my team members were complaining about mold on their apples. My team members tossed them out and the remaining Carmel apples were saved for a return. I came back to speak the Manager Martin and he told me to dig out the remaining apples from the trash and bring them back for a refund. I had photos of the molded apples but that wasn't enough. He was super rude and shouldn't be a manager. How is this my fault you sell moldy Carmel apples? My team couldn't enjoy the treat I was providing. Please don't shop here. Can y'all send Martin out for training? I am hoping the store manager of the La Quinta location reaches out to me to resolve this issue. It had been 5 months since I shopped here. So I agree with the hit or miss here. Usually I like to buy my meat here as they do have good meat...however it depends on who is in the meat dept. on that particular day! Last Thursday I came is for flap meat and as I walked up to the meat dept. there were 3 people there 2 guys and a woman. The woman was short and complaining going on and on. One of the guys saw me walk up but pretended not to! I had to shout "hello" over her complaining and rather than one of them coming right over they ignored me and said hello over & over! Why?? Is this good customer service? NO. It is rude and she had the nerve to give me a dirty look like coming there to buy meat is wrong! lol...unbelievable. Then getting the meat from a young short guy that kept repeating what I would say in a mocking way. Never asked which piece of meat I wanted. Had beautiful meat in the case but when I looked at what he was doing he was picking up slabs of meat in the front that were piled up that I could not see! When I asked if I could see what he was giving me I got an attitude! I asked for 3 slabs of meat, found out when I got home I received 4 and it was over a half pound over what I asked for! They don't listen, they are rude and stop complaining! Be grateful you have a job. NO self check-out and workers including the checkers constantly complaining and talking amongst themselves while the customer waits. WHY? Asked where tortillas were at one end of the store because they were all huddled together talking at that end and was as told the wrong isle which was all the way at the other end of the store!! Had to walk all the way back to the huddle and told them you gave me the wrong isle! I got attitude and one of them laughed! WHY? WHY is this all okay?? THIS is why I skip this place. There isn't any reason for any of it.This is management's fault as they should be aware of all this. Do Not Come Here! The manager at this establishment is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. We are repetitive customers at this grocery store and got told something for standing around in the store to much, in a GROCERY SHORE of all places. Also that we are bothering their employees when we would only talk to them if we had a question or checking out. The manager would also follow us around while looking through the store. We would even complement the employees on their efficiency and helpfulness but the manager makes me feel so uneasy and unwelcome. I do NOT even feel confortable ever coming back to this store. I am new to La Quinta. My favorite grocery store (Stater Bros. Market) is only a short distance away. I told the produce associate that he would see a lot more of me because I love Stater Bros. Market. I told him that the first time I set foot at one of the markets was in 1980 in Riverside and I have adopted the market. I told him that I was happy to see this one really close by and that wherever I am, as long as the market was in my vicinity, I feel right at home! Here's your good ol- grocery store. They will definitely have something that you are craving or that extra ingredient you need to complete your dinner recipe. Lots of selections from produce to frozen goods to home and personal care products. (Random, but I saw pots & pans and even some ethnic foods) If you're coming from hwy 111 or washington st, you can't miss it. It's the biggest building on the corner of the same plaza as Ross, Petco, and Office Max. I love their clearly marked sale prices in bright neon tags, and they try to advertise buying in bulk. (But if I'm going to buy in bulk, I can go to Costco for that!) For example, I noticed their steak seasoning was on sale for $11.99 when the same exact product was only $7 at Costco. So as you can see, you don't come here because of the prices. You come here because Costco is closed or too far and because you need something real quick. Speaking of prices, you may be able to catch some good deals from their super savings "book". It's more like a 4-page ad with more savings than their weekly ad. Service is great. Clerks who ring me up are always very courteous and polite. I usually go to Vons/Safeway or Ralph's for groceries, so I'm used to putting in my phone number. Here, they pride themselves in not having such phone numbers. They call it a "digital ID", which is basically a 10-digit number (aka, your phone number). Don't let them confuse you! For their pharmacy (Yes, they do have a pharmacy), every time I pass by, it looks like the staff is just hanging out. They don't look too busy. That may or may not be a good thing..but they're also advertising flu shots for this season! Lastly, be careful when shopping here at night. There are wanderers holding cardboard signs or riding their bikes with big black bags or sleeping by the trees. Didn't expect La Quinta to house them, but I guess they're free to show up at any city. read more

What a fabulous Customer Service experience with Carlos in the Meat Dept. I am a regular at Stater Brothers in La Quinta. It is the only market that smells fresh when you walk in. I had unexpected guests coming for Christmas dinner. I went to Stater Brothers in La Quinta & was not disappointed. Wow, Carlos was great, he was very patient at a high stress time, Christmas. True at times the lines have been long there have not been enough checkers to accommodate the customers but I think more so that that might be a manager's problem scheduling then it is the customers complain in which I know as I was a clerk myself years back. Hit or miss here. Ive shopped at the deli for sandwiches and gotten meats at the butcher. The prices are always changing with the meats and specials come and go which are nice but it's hard to predict for regular customers. The quality is pretty nice though. The bags used for produce are very sturdy which is great when you are trying to load up on them healthy veggies. As for the deli, the sandwiches really depend on who you get. I've gotten 4 sandwiches and 2 times they were loaded FAT with the meats but the other 2 you would've thought it was a veggie sandwich. Inconsistent but may the odds be ever in your favor because I believe the good experiences were with the same girl and the other two with 2 equally poor sandwich makers/listeners. Below average wrap jobs. The quality in the deli is okay as it taste like any basic deli. The staff is usually nice and I think they do try but they get lazy and it shows with the inconsistency. It is only about 7-8 buckaroos though which is solid when they hook it up. A self checkout would be nice too as you may get stuck waiting behind people when you don't have much. All in all, recommend giving the deli and butchery a chance as they are usually pretty good and better than Ralph's read more

I had a regular shopping experience for my first time here but what made my day was Christopher who was doing the carts as I left. He offered to help me load my car and said to go ahead and get my car turned on and cooled off as he loaded the groceries. What a nice young man! Someone raised him right! He said it was his first day and I believe this young man deserves kudos for going above and beyond with a superior attitude and work ethic. Very disappointed this morning I am an essential worker I completely understand the situation we are currently going through I was not let into the store due to senior hours ... the young lady in the front of the store advised she could not let me in till after 8am .. I go in at 8am I just wanted a bottle of water to get through my day .. she seemed like she could careless and un sympathetic I did have my face covered and I was not going to grocery shop we should be allowed to also shop it makes no sense that is ok for us to put ourselves at risk for the public but we can't purchase water .. shame on you stater brothers read more

I love the meat dept. the staff are unbelievably helpful. I call in special orders for my Dog and they always accommodate me and go above and beyond to make sure I get my order. They call me to update me on the status. This time Albert & Nate made sure I had my order ready for pickup. I appreciate these guys so much and they have the best customer service hands down in the Valley. read more

This Stater Bro's is becoming a joke. Been shopping here for 18 years and the lack of work going on is ridiculous. It's mainly management. I tend to shop early to mid evening. Whenever I do I ALWAYS see the black vested guys huddling and talking sometimes the entire length of my shopping time - I'm not sure if they feel they can't be seen but when it's every time I shop tends to bother me. Also the need to take out major brands and only have Stater bro's on the shelf is what will bring this company down in the long run. After all the years I have been coming and all the checkers I know by name I am finally moving in. Tired of no choices and tired of the male managers huddling and treating those hours like a social club among themselves and bark orders at the younger employees. Felt like a criminal and got a bruise to prove it. I shop here every month for groceries. Today I was leaving just like usual and when I got to the door the shopping cart locked up and alarms went off. When the cart locked up I obviously wasn't expecting it and my leg hit the bottom shelf of the cart! Everyone was staring at me like I stole the $150 worth of groceries in my cart. The manager questioned me asking if I went around the floral department or through a different way...I said no, I go the same way as everyone else. I told him it really hurt my leg when the cart locked and he apologized for it. Still, I felt like a criminal with everyone staring at me as they walked out. Is this how you treat your customers now? Physically hurting them with some stupid theft protection carts that malfunction? I see a potential lawsuit here. read more

This is probably the best Staters in the valley! Store #186 puts up great service and pricing. It's located on the bustling marketplace of Hwy 111 and Washington. They have a big parking lot that is well kept by the courtesy clerks that work there. This store has two entrances with carts on both sides, plastic bag recycling, their ads, and sanitizing wipes. The left entrance is where their ice is located (by the wine & spirits) and the right entrance has a water fountain. This Staters has a bakery, deli, pharmacy, greeting card dept., meat dept., seafood dept., floral dept., coin star, and a customer service booth. They can do balloons here, lottery tickets, rent carpet cleaners, and do keg orders! They always attempt to have more than one register open at all times. Always have a good experience here and receive exceptional service. They also sell charcoal here! They have a marked down section in the back left corner of the store as well. This grocery store basically carries what you would want to find at one. Overall 5 stars because I have yet to have a bad experience here! read more

I used to love this store - my family and I would go twice a week and I have no qualms about paying $300 and up per visit. This all changed a few months ago. The service was horrible - the clerk, Diana E. wanted to spend more time flirting with the customer in line ahead of me than in getting customers through. When I complained and said that I wanted to get my ice cream home before it melted she practically slapped my receipt into my hand. The customer in line behind me made a comment about it in the parking lot and insisted that I report it to management. I didn't, I just quit going. About a month ago, my husband and I were out and about and he asked me to do our shopping at Stater Bros because it was convenient and he didn't want to spend a lot of time out. I'm sorry I agreed. The store is dirty, and almost all of the yogurt was expired - there was nothing in the way of light greek yogurt in the case that wasn't several days past it's "sell by" date. I didn't really want to buy anything that wasn't prepackaged because it felt so dirty. While in the checkout line I mentioned the expired food PLUS the fact that I was no longer a regular customer. Because I had been such a regular customer for 5 plus years I was recognized and was asked by one of the checkers to please share my complaints with management. I did online. I got an email back asking for contact information which I provided. I never heard from them. I've heard through the grapevine that this "Diana" is a personal friend of the manager and there have been many complaints that have fallen on deaf ears. The Vons across Hwy 111 is more expensive but I can afford it plus I'm treated like a valued customer. I'm taking my money there from now on. read more

Wow, this Stater Bros is the nicest one I've ever seen, it's definitely way better than any of the relatively ghetto ones I've been to in LA County. If you were blindfolded and led in here, you'd think it was a Ralph's, or at least an Albertson's. They have a full deli section in addition to the meat department, loads of fresh fruits (including Spartan apples from Canada!), and the cheap prices, WIC/food stamp peoples, and Shasta soda you expect from this chain. Their deli is crazy though, we ordered a family sized sandwich, which took about 15 minutes to make from the deli section, then split it amongst 4 people for two meals straight. Total price? 10 bucks. This destroys any Subway 5 dollar footlong, which I can finish in one meal if I try. read more
