If you shop in the morning you'll find, as I just did, aisles so full of cardboard and plastic you can't navigate a cart without getting stuck. No one cleaning it up, just left that way. On top of navigating that they have no check stands open so you get to dodge stuff in the aisles and check out all your own groceries, a major pain with produce and a full cart. No one there is helpful but the officious person watching the self check will ask if you got everything. Maybe if you want to make sure checkout happens accurately, open stands instead of customers doing your job for you. Plus the pleasure in this insane state of paying for bags while we do work that used to be provided in grocery prices. Will never shop here again. Stores run this way are just giving the business to Amazon and other online delivery that has no BS and friendly service. read more

Today I need to get flowers, there are so many options to choose from & for every occasions . Yvonne P. was working there today! She was amazing she was able to put 3 bunches together for me. It looked so beautiful! She did a very great job and with a touch of thoughtfulness & kindness! What she did was out of pure talent! I was so thrilled & happy how she did it ! Yvonne P. Most of the staff here, especially the checkers, hate their lives, and it shows. There's maybe one checker who is pleasant. The others, after the robotic "Did you find everything you were looking for", then go on to spend your checkout process cross talking to each other and it's really annoying and rude. The pickup crew are outstanding. Super friendly and efficient kids. This Ralph's is the exact opposite of any Trader Joe's. read more

The cashier Rich was extremely rude and unprofessional cashiering my family and the nice lady in front of us . He missed the gap unfortunately and had to unring some items in her order that was ours. HE THREW A Fit the ENTIRE time. Mind you we and the lady in front were completely nice and respectful the entire time ...apologizing for not having the divider but he was still mad and completely rude towards my father and that's completely unacceptable. Instead of just canceling the order entirely and just ringing up the ladies two items again, mind you she only had bananas and parsley., He proceeded to unring all of our items that he overring on her bill and still came out wrong. We had to tell him again. She only had two items and we don't know why her bill was almost $8 dollars. He threw another fit. That store is horrible. I just bought a lb of cooked shrimp and upon opening the butcher paper I almost gagged and they were very slimey. I don't know how the butcher did not notice this. I returned them immediately to the store and did not get ONE apology from the two people I spoke with. Not until I asked to speak to a manager was there any interest. I know full well they were not going to alert the meat dept. about the tainted shrimp either. I have gone to this Ralphs for years only because its so close by. I have received poor service, incorrect priced items and old, dated food. The remodel they did over the summer was a complete waste of money. The employees are not very happy people. The produce section tends to have happy employees for the most part. Bakery section is okay, as well as the meat section. Additionally, this location is always getting robbed unfortunately. Go to the Ralph's on Moorpark Road or Albertsons on Reino Road which has a better selection and happy employees. read more

Just the facts... Ralphs Newbury Park 18 pack Pepsi on sale $11.99. (Receipt says Ralphs saved you one dollar, IN BOLD PRINT. Across the street...Walmart sold me a 24 pack of Pepsi "not on sale" for $9.98 How did Ralphs save me a dollar??????? I paid two dollars more for 25% less product. Tonight I purchased a pumpkin pie at Ralph's Newbury Park. I paid $6.49 for the whole pie. Just last week I bought the same pie for $5.49 at the same location. So tonight... After paying for the whole pie I walked back to the bakery and bought 2 pumpkin 1/2 pies for $2.99 each. Since when is buying two smaller portions cheaper than buying the whole pie in a single packaging. The receipts are featured in the attached photos. RALPHS IS NOT saving you money the way they claim. I don't shop at this Ralph since I don't live close to it. But I expected sane level of customer service as other Ralph locations. I had a HORRIBLE experience here with the cashier and I asked to talk to the manager, HE WAS THE MANAGER - his name is Joshua according to the receipt - He was very rude and did not give a care to a customer's request. I asked him from the beginning of the transaction, I want to key in my number when can I do it. He paid no attention to me. Went ahead with the sales transaction and I lost my chance to get the fuel points ! I asked if he can redo it - absolutely not due to gift card purchase. He said call the number you can get the points to my account I came home but there is no numbers I can call from the receipt !! This Ralph's is my neighborhood store so I. One here a lot, most of the people there are ok, some are even helpful. But there is one lady that I learned is a manager of some kind (unfortunately I don't have her name) is very rude and has an attitude every time I see her. I complained to the corporate number but doubt anything will happen. I just hope that she gets re-trained or gets re-assigned. She almost yelled at me to go to another register, I have a physical disability and her line was closer to the door. But I went to the other register to prevent myself from giving her feedback that I am sure would have caused a scene. Overall I like this Ralph's better than the Moore park one but it seems like this lady needs an attitude adjustment in a big way. The employees in this store have serious customer service issues. In all my life of many years, I've never felt UNCOMFORTABLE shopping in a grocery store. I get anxiety shopping in this store so I avoid it as much as possible. The Manager and staff are seriously flawed. Some are condescending but think their being friendly. Most are just unfriendly and/or unprofessional. They all seem demoralized. It really is bad. When you say "thank you" most don't respond. Ralphs has always been my go to Grocery store growing up- I just had the worst Encounter with a Manager "Josh" at Ralphs, 583 N Ventu Park Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320 (805) 499-6743- I walked in with my wife and my dog- (About 6 months ago a Employee told me Hi can you put the dog in a Cart. I said sure- Great tone- No problem- ) So six months later and SOOO many visits later a woman starts ringing my wife and I and our puppy. Jokingly and Lovingly I said to him "Theres a vicious dog behind you"- Its a Tiny toy Poodle Really Small and sweet- Has never EVER barked or bitten anybody. Josh was RUDE and Smug= Josh yells at me "That dog is not supposed to be in a Cart" in a nasally voice. Looks me up and down with total disgust. I said I'm sorry a employee here said it was ok to put the dog in the basket. Josh said no it was not. Hes yelling at me like I was a piece Poo in the Gutter and that it was ok to talk to customers that way. Then he yells Bye have a good day. I said Dont talk to me like that- Josh says Im not talking to you like anything- Twenty Paying Customers are watching him Berate me like this. I said yes you are and your acting Uppity and mean. I'm not a complainer, but I've had a bad experience 3 times now at the deli counter here. There is never a person to wait on customers at the deli. When you do get a person, they are incredibly slow. Today, the man at the deli was in the back breaking down cardboard boxes apparently. A man that was waiting with me and he had to try to get someone's attention so we could get service. The man had just come through the door with a cart full of broken down boxes. He was asked for help nicely. When he started to get the meat, the gentleman I was with quickly saw that he wasn't going to change his gloves. The employee reluctantly changed his gloves. I wish that if Ralph's is cutting down on their service they would hire more people to staff the deli and to work in the back. read more

I came into the store today in a panic after i had locked my keys, wallet, and phone in the car (silly me). Still in shock, I walked inside to ask for help. MAURINE at the self-check out station went above and beyond to first check if I was ok, calm me down, and then problem solve. She was so pleasant and wonderful that it odd to say I ENJOYED this experience, however I knew God's hand was in my rescue. I always get my deli tuna from the Newbury Park Ralph's because the Westlake Village store even though the tuna is already made. If it's old they add more mayonnaise and lemon to it. The pharmacy is above and beyond professional. The florist is always refreshing, watering and putting out new plants . I just got To This store at 8:20 is my good friend birthday which I didn't know about it so I come here cuz is very close where he lives I wanted a a small cake and a bottle of tequila I wait by the bakery I saw the baker in the back I wait and wait no one help me so I come to one of the self check out register and ask one of the workers if she can help me ( they tell me her name is Rumor I don't know if yachts true or not and when I ask her for help she gave me the nastiness attitude you can ever imagine like she doesn't give a sh.t about the store she was like if not one is there no one is going to help you so I told her that all I need it was a cake that was behind the glass and she said if no one is genre there's nothing I can do about it, but then she call the bakery and the guy that was there took his sweet time to come out so finally I got my cake then I ask her for the tequila bottle and with.A nasty attitude she open the door to give my bottle at that time I was like why is she acting like This cuz all I wanted was the cake that tequila and that was all , but when I ask why she gave me attitude she got defensive and told me that she wasn't going to help me cuz I had disrespected her and I don't why I disrespected her cuz I never said anything to offend her the only thing I ask her was why she had attitude I try to complain to other workers but I saw her talking to them and pointed at me so they defended her , if I'm spending my money with you I should be treated with respect that's all I ask for , I have read other reviews so I don't think I'm the first one that it nasty attitude from rumor , I hope you'll do something about this store read more

However, finding out that Josh the manager isn't in, Xiochi the Asst manager or supervisor on shift who at this time was working at the flower department handed me a jar of water and seemed annoyed that I asked for it because their potted mini roses seemed to have dry soil as I noticed after shortly paying for them. (Bought 3 of them). As I was reaching my 3rd final pot in watering, she pretty much told me off to move over so she can help the person behind me who obviously was not even in a rush and was happily chatting with me with his girlfriend. Went into the store, hoping to order a cake. No one was at the bakery, so after waiting for a few minutes, I went over to the customer service desk because it said to see the customer service desk. I waited there. There was no one there for several minutes I noticed there was someone in bakery, so I walked back over there, and as soon as they saw me approach, they walked in the back, and the other person just went out and started stocking bakery items on the shelves. I occasionally shop here and stopped in last week for lunch. I was planning on just buying a pre-made sandwich but none of them were quite the combination I wanted and the deli counter had an available sandwich maker so I had her make me a custom sandwich. It was made promptly, to my order and was tasty and fresh. The ingredients all tasted very high quality and the price was good. The chips that came with the meal deal were limited (she only mentioned pita chips as being available) but they were nice and fresh too. This is a typical Ralph's store with typical selection and prices. The aisles are neat and tidy and the shelves well-stocked. Parking lot isn't the best but it's okay and there are always spaces. read more

Old white lady at self checkout on a Sunday afternoon accused a friend of mine of theft for an item worth $1. She apologized which is good but her initial approach came off as rude. There are ppl that blatantly fill their carts up and walk out stealing items and this lady wrongfully accuses someone of theft worth $1. I have to update my review after several sketchy experiences. I feel bad for the employees that have no recource against the unmasked people screaming, people with tree branches that swing them around at people like clubs, people breaking into cars in the parking lot, and people passed out in their cars after injecting drugs. It has seriously become a safety issue and I now drive a few miles to another store that does not tolerate this behavior at their location. Long lines and angry unmasked people walking around makes for unpleasant experiences. Ralph's needs to support their staff and hire some real security to protect their employees and customers. read more
