If you have not heard of Wild Forks, you've been missing out. I usually go to this location or the new one in Encino. Both are great, though this location has a bigger parking lot. The employees have always been very helpful at either location. But they have cuts that you normally won't find anywhere else. Their meats are all frozen, so I wouldn't come here the day of if you want to grill/bbq. But I do appreciate it being frozen so I can plan what I need to buy for future cooks. Alright Wild Fork, let's talk. You sell frozen meat like it just got off a first-class flight from flavor heaven and to be fair, some of it actually tastes that way. My freezer looks like a CrossFit gym for carnivores. The short ribs? Slapped. The ribeyes? Melted like butter on a therapist's couch. But some of those other cuts? Let's just say I've had warmer hugs from TSA. Look, I get it "blast frozen." Cool marketing. Sounds like something Elon Musk would do to a cow. But if I thaw it for three hours and it still tastes like witness-protection chicken, we've got beef (literally). The space is small but perfectly situated with an abundant amount of protein options galore. With such a variety of cuts that aren't often available in normal grocery stores of even butcher shops. Items like picanna and frenched pork rib roast, to elk and bison steaks there is something for everyone including seafood. There a small section of extra items like pastas, brads and veggies along with seasoning options. Pricing was fantastic and compared well. My freezer is well stocked now. read more

This is my 3rd time purchasing food here and its time to write a review based on my experience. Helpful and nice staff. Ill preface by saying that I am a good cook. Purchase #1. Brussel sprouts and salmon. Was not impressed by Brussel sprouts. Soggy. The salmon was ok. Perhaps because I just bought my house and it was my first time using my oven. So I mightve overcooked the salmon. Purchase #2. Chilean sea bass. I pan seared it with lemon sauce. Amazing. Next time will get the bigger filet so that it sears more evenly and all parts stay flakey on the inside. Purchase #3. Mahi mahi filets. I made blackened mahi tacos and the fish was so tasty. I am looking forward to trying more items. There are so many choices to choose from! Next purchase is the scallops. Nothing but praise for Wild Fork since we began shopping hear a couple years ago. There are so many positives that WF provides that it's one of my favorite places to shop and recommend to others. WF offers a variety of products aside from meats. I've tried a bunch of them and they are good. Nothing I can't live without but there are regular items I typically stock. Obviously the main reason to shop at WF is the meat! From tri tip to rib, to chicken to fish, this place has everything a regular person would need. I find the prices to be relatively competitive with Costco and grocery stores. The main perk, everything is vacuum sealed! This makes the shopping and take home experience thoroughly easier and more enjoyable. It seems as though WF has seasonal items and adds new products relatively often. This update is only for the last three pictures of boxes of appetizers. Mom bought these and served them to us. She also bought 4 other boxes which we haven't tried yet. The empanadas are terrible and they never get rid of them since they were terrible 2 years ago. The ravioli says four cheese but I only taste ricotta with no flavor at all. The baked Brie and apple chutney shows a picture of the apple chutney in a bowl on the side. Mom looked and re looked for the apples separately and they were not in the package. After tasting one it tasted like nothing in the middle. You need a magnifying glass to actually see any filing at all. Waste of money and time on all three. They have a wide variety of different kinds of meat and the prices are very reasonable. I love their mesquite pork ribs as well and chicken wings. The staff is very helpful and informative. Stopped by this place out of curiosity and I couldn't help but walk out with a $113 receipt! The steaks looked so good, I couldn't resist. I'm a professional home chef and I love trying new steak suppliers and even though these are all frozen right from the store, there is zero compromise in quality/taste and everything is priced extremely fair. I only got steaks this visit but they literally have every cut of meat and seafood, including wagyu and wild game. They also have frozen meals and frozen desserts if that's your thing. I will admit, when I walked in I was a bit overwhelmed by all the freezers but they did a really good job at labeling each one and it will only take about 6 second before an amazing employee comes up to help you. Seriously, they are all amazing and extremely knowledgeable about every product. Whether you need help finding something or need a solid recommendation on a product, they got you covered. One of the employees helped me find a deal on a rack of lamb for $12. My first time there today! Ask Monica at the checkout what the new things are! I almost missed the dessert aisle until she read me. I wanted a spoon right then to try the flan. Got to it at home and it hit the spot. Flan from Brazil! How cool is that? I wanted to stay and have a big foodie chat with her. Admittedly, this was the first time I have even been to a market/grocery store where everything and I mean everything is frozen. The market was clean, the freezers holding the food were spotless and the folks working there were friendly. Signs were easily visible and there were no lines at the check out. Prices seemed higher than at a regular grocery store and hard to find fish and meats filled the deep freezer cases. Yet, for me, I missed the element of fresh. Being oriented to seasonal, fresh local foods, it's a big change. There's nothing like fresh locally caught fish or farmers market produce. Luckily for us in So CA we have access to the freshest of fresh so I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon. For those who enjoy various cuts of meat, fish and bags of veggies, have freezer space no don't mind the higher prices this place might be for you. I have to change my review to a five star! The mussels and clams were excellent, especially the mussels! I guess I'm more of a seafood girl because the seafood was incredible (as were the side dishes)... Just goes to show that often people give bad reviews on things they never liked in the first place and it may not be the fault of the establishment. I'm gonna stick with their excellent seafood because it's VERY well priced and delicious and fresh. I even used the recipe on the package of the mussels, tweaking it a little bit, and it turned out great! I'm making it again today and I'll post a picture! read more

Wild Fork saves Christmas dinner! After CostCo was out of prime rib, we desperately called around markets, carnacerias, Whole Foods and finally Gelson's - who wanted $45/lb!! We found what we were looking for at Wild Fork - PRIME rib roast. We were worried about it being frozen but they aren't kidding - flash frozen is as good as fresh! The meat was buttery soft, nice amount of marble...our guests raved! And it was only $26/lb. Don't be afraid of Wild Fork frozen meat. And grab a box of beignets before you check out. read more

Feeling some mixed emotions. The concept of the store is interesting, as are many of the unique food items. I do wish that they'd moved into a different space in the shopping center. Taking over a previous upscale restaurant freestanding building seems like a waste of the property's location. It's a bit jarring to walk into a building where you once enjoyed a romantic candlelit Valentine's dinner, and be instead in a brightly lit room full of freezer cases of groceries. One woman's opinion. . . What Wild Fork does is flash freeze everything from produce to domesticated meats, fish/seafood, and wild game. This preserves the freshness to a stellar degree, versus having meat butchered at the local grocery store, then put out for you to take home and maybe freeze. Who knows how many days have passed by that time? The cases are very clean, and it's impressive to have smooth gliding doors on those freezers as you access items to add to your cart, or check the labels. For many items there are multiple options, like for scallops or shrimp, as an example. Much more than you'd see at the local supermarket. They do have some packaged meals, but more of the merchandise is geared for you to take home, thaw out as needed, when you create your own culinary masterpieces. We picked up a small variety of things to try, like frozen guacamole (who knew?), French onion soup, plantains (delicious!), and chicken tenderloins. So far, we've only tried the plantains. Definitely make sure you have room in your freezer before shopping here, unless you plan to defrost in the fridge right away. read more

Wild Fork was a surprise. I thought this would be a high-end butcher/fish monger. Instead it is a store that carries a very wide variety of meats and seafood, as well as side dishes, vegetables, and desserts - all frozen. The pleasant surprise was that the prices are generally very reasonable. I bought bratwurst, marinated pork loin, and mussels for about $10. They have frozen pizza, Mac and cheese, ice cream, cake, and appetizers as well. What makes Wild Fork very interesting is that you can get very exotic meats there. Want to make a yak burger? You can because they carry yak meat. And wild boar, and ostrich, the list goes on. I was impressed that they carry stone crab claws. These are very hard to find.
