I went to Sprouts in search of a delicious peach. I bought two organic peaches on Saturday June 6 to sample. By today, Monday, both had moldy spots. I cut away the mold to sample the peach. It was hard and not yet ripe. Not flavorful and not juicy. How long were they sitting in the display? I won't try Sprouts again. Since I have owned peach trees and canned peaches, I have something to compare to. So sad. So bad. read more

After a couple of less-than-stellar experiences over the past few months with the deli counter, tonight was much, much better. I feel duty-bound to report it! Dear Hubby was out running errands in Thousand Oaks this afternoon/evening. He brought me home a sandwich that had been made freshly from Sprouts deli. We've had a lot of tuna lately, so I'd mentioned taking a break from tuna salad for a while. Normally, it would be turkey or chicken deli meat. Tonight, DH brought roast beef instead. Since I don't eat red meat very often, I wasn't initially too excited by this choice. If I'm going to have beef, it's usually in the form of hot pastrami, or maybe tri tip (shout out to Green Acres Market in Simi!). Happily, the roast beef from Sprouts was extremely tender, plus flavorful. The lettuce and tomatoes were also very fresh. All in all, a really good sandwich! My only mark-down to it was the sourdough bread. The texture was good, but I sure wish they would get a brand of sourdough that has the true tang. San Francisco-style, or even San Luis Obispo Sourdough would do the trick. Whatever they stock at Sprouts is definitely on the bland side as sourdoughs go. Still, the freshness of the rest of the ingredients rates a thumbs up from me. I didn't go to the store myself this time, so no updates on the service or appearance of the store. Overall, the service is acceptable, except for the cold cuts department. It wasn't the first time I wasn't served. The staff there look at you like you're weird, they don't talk to you, they just don't serve you. On my last attempt, I stop by there and asked, "Hello, are you still open?" I was recently at the Sprouts Market in Thousand Oaks. I shop in all of the local Sprouts - Simi Valley, Camarillo , and am familiar with the stores. I went to the lunch meat counter to buy prepared salads. There were 5 women working in the back of the area doing a variety of things. I waited at the counter for about 10 minutes saying " excuse me". Not one paid any attention to me and came to assist me. I went over to the checkout line and told her I couldn't get service at the deli section even though 5 people are there. She went over to them and called on one to take a care of me. This really pissed me off as a regular customer who spends quite a bit of money on a weekly basis at Sprouts. It's my main grocery shopping store. Perhaps, the manager could put a bell on the counter to alert the workers when a customer is trying to get help. Or, is it because I'm a female senior that I was ignored? read more

I recently walked to the Sprouts in Thousand Oaks. When I checked out, I was helped by Cassidy. I asked if she could balance out the groceries between 2 bags to make it easier to carry everything home. Not only did she greet this request with a smile but she actually weighed the bags and adjusted the groceries to make sure the bags were even. i've never been to a sprouts so nasty in my life we don't live in this area we were here because my son had a soccer game in a park near by and we decided to stop by before his game we got 5 sandwiches and not only did they take forever but the old lady making them she had her hair in nasty bun on the top of her head and glasses she had the nastiness attitude ever ! like if you don't want to make the sandwich's let someone else make them ! we got our food and paid and left and right before we were going to eat them my sister tells me that she saw that same lady touch her nasty ear with the same gloves we was making our sandwich's with two different times i'm disgusted we had no choice but to throw it away i hope sprouts can do better and have a talk with this lady i couldn't even get her name because of course she didn't have a name tag on , never coming back to this location! Been shopping here since they opened in 2010. HUGE turnover in cashiers, understandably. High prices on almost everything except for most produce. Many items are often out of stock. Frozen goods (fruits, veggies, potatoes, etc.) are absurdly expensive as are most vitamins. I have caught some amazing sales over the years such as $0.99/lb buffalo chicken wings; $0.99/lb sliced chicken breast; and lots more. Sliced lunchmeat will cost you an arm and a leg. I get double-charged for items a lot. Sometimes I go back for a refund and sometimes I don't. There have been a number of times where the shelves were so broadly empty that I asked associates if they were closing the store down. On a good note, shout out to my cashier yesterday, Lisa (Head Cashier). She was incredibly warm and friendly. I really appreciate that. read more

This is not the kind of updated review I like writing. Sprouts is one of my favorite places to shop. This location in particular has been my favorite in the last 4-5years, even after moving to Port Hueneme, simply because I've received such great service & have had positive experiences at this location, up until now. I often come here before or after work. A few months ago I tried one of their vegetarian sandwiches & fell in love! My husband & love coming here for their vegetables, fruit & dry foods in the bulk section. They also started carrying the Beyond Burger & Beyond Sausages. These are just a few reasons why we come here. Here is the reason I'm now giving them 3 stars... In the past few weeks when I've come before or after work or in the evening, I've noticed in the the deli section, or rather those that have worked in the deli section have almost gone out of their way to ignore me. You think I'm paranoid? Or dramatic?- NO! I've come here as early as 7:30 am during the work week, write up my sandwich order, I'd give or tried to give it to someone in the deli section, I will grocery shop & even pay & my sandwich order IS STILL NOT READY!!! I timed it once... 43 mins. FORTY-THREE MINUTES FOR A FREAKING SANDWICH IN A STORE THAT WAS NOT BUSY, NOT EVEN CLOSE! How do you explain that? There are two older ladies that make good/work in the deli section & I know they see me. They don't acknowledge me, say hi or even tell anyone else to tend to me. So, I stand their like an idiot waiting for Sprouts staff members to notice me. I see them working to fill catering orders to get other foods ready for the deli or bakery section, but just because I am ordering 1 sandwich doesn't mean I don't deserve any service. If this were the case, they should pull those slips of paper to fill out individual orders & say they only accept orders of $50/$100 or more, that way people like me will no longer waste their time. Should this be the new standard of acceptable behavior??? Sorry, not sorry, this is not acceptable to me. What's embarrassing is I've recommended Sprouts deli section for sandwiches to many friends. A couple of them did mention a similar experience. Today, while I tried to get one of the 4 or 5 people who were in the deli section, ignored me, it reminded just how annoying my recent experiences have been. I mentioned this to the cashier & suggested she share this with the manager. Who knows if she told the manager, hence my updated review. Hopefully, they change the way customers are treated, but in the mean time I will not be purchasing anything from the deli section. The wait is just not worth it. read more

SO happy with Sprouts Market #214 and Jordan in particular. I was at the register when panic struck - I'd lost my credit card. My cashier Michelle called for April, the store Manager, and explained the situation. April asked my name then went directly to retrieve my card! What a relief! Another employee, Jordan, had found my credit card in the parking lot and immediately turned it into the Manager. I am Very grateful for Jordan's prompt action and honesty. If it wasn't for him, along with April and Michelle, I would be spending days cleaning up the mess. In addition to having helpful, friendly employees, I want to add ~ I've been going to this Sprouts for almost 10 years and have always had such a welcoming experience. Most unprofessional employees ever! I Completed the register transaction with my credit card, cashier gave the receipt to my husband. (I didn't notice this.) A guy behind me put his card in thinking he was talking to him when cashier said that will be 50.00. He didn't wasn't paying attention or even look to see the transaction was paid and said that the customer behind me paid the bill. ? He called the head cashier over he explained the situation. She threw her hands up and said" I don't have time for this" and just walked away. Unbelievable. Cashier then told us to pay the customer behind us to settle the problem. Sprouts is an amazing place to do your grocery shopping whether you're a health freak or not. I will admit that Sprouts is not my go to store, but the times I do come here, I always have a pleasant experience. The staff are all super friendly and their produce department truly represents what a Farmers Market is all about. If you've never been to Sprouts, I would says it's a mix between Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods, but with a better selection than T.J's and less expensive than Whole Foods. Their butcher department has a wonderful selection of meats, poultry and fish and they have a nice variety of breads & cheeses to make that perfect cheese plate. If you want to buy nuts, grains, dried fruit and loose flour in bulk, this is your place. They have a do it your self section where you can fill up on all the above essentials. For those that are Gluten Free (GF), Vegetarian (VG), or Vegan (V), Sprouts is your store! But if your are a meat eater like me, don't worry they have tons of Red Meat (RM) for us. Haha. Sprouts in 1000 Oaks is clean, has its own private parking lot, and is conveniently located right off the 101 FWY if you are passing through.
