I shop at this store often, and every time I do, I'm happy with the service that the employees consistently offer. At the self-checkout lines, there is young man named Brad who goes out of his way to proactively help customers. There is also a very friendly longtime woman employee helping at self-checkout, for whom I haven't gotten her name. Putting people like that to help in this area--probably the area that has the most need--is exactly what all stores should do. Great job! read more

This is one of the better Ralphs. Its a full service Ralphs. Count your blessings Thousand Oaks. You have access to a bakery, good cheese and great meats/seafood here. Along with fresh prepared foods and a huge wine department. Not all Ralphs are created equal. The little flaw, the aisles. These aisles are made for the muchkins. They are very narrow and difficult to navigate. Especially if you are on the same flight path as other pilot cart pushers. Check out have far too many self checkouts and not enough live check out lines. Theg also push digital coupons. I hate those. Just make the price the same without the app. Tip go on a Friday get them gas points. read more

I enjoy the big, bright store and selection of sushi, bakery items, Starbucks, sandwiches, etc. My issue is with the bait-n-switch pricing and the unprofessional staff. Ever try getting some help at the Deli counter? I am repeatedly ignored while I stand there waiting to be at least acknowledged. This morning was no exception. It's almost like a game to come home and review my receipt to see which items never made it home. Like last Thursday's rotisserie chicken never made it to my cart but it was on the receipt. Or being charged for the "big" pack of gum when I bought the small one. Or, also, today, the sign on the Asparagus showed $1.99/lb -- and I verified there was no digital coupon required. Yet, came home to find I was charged $4.99/lb. And finally, just today, I selected the digital coupon for corned beef at $3.49/lb but of course I was charged $3.99/lb. It doesn't end with this store. BTW, if you're ever in the checkout lane and the cashier is named Karen you should go to another lane. That is, unless you have all ding-dong day. Pick up is a complete joke. I have used this service for approximately two months. I'm a single mother in palliative care. They will send me a text message telling me the order is ready. I will arrive. I will tell them I am here which space number I am in they will refuse to bring out the order because they will tell me " it's too early for pick up" they will tell me that I've arrived too early outside my window, even though they sent me a text saying the order is ready. When I made a complaint about it, they then really created a nightmare when I would pull into the parking lot. The app would suddenly stop working so when I would pull into a parking space it would not allow me to check in and put the space number. I would then have to get out of my car go into the store and ask for my order. This would create complete chaos because number one employees are rude in the store number two if there are other parking people in the spaces, they will give them all their orders ahead of me so I will wait for approximately 20 to 40 minutes in a hot car for my order to be brought out on top of it. I'm delivered a ton of attitude. The app is a nightmare. The associates are a nightmare just skip it all together. I'm switching over to target where employees are happy and kind and the app works. read more

I've been coming to this location semi regularly for almost 10 years. I'll continue to visit as they have items and services not covered by other stores. It's also a great one stop shop if you don't have time to go to multiple stores. Most recently I found that they sell helium latex balloons for only $0.99! Dollar tree does not do latex helium balloons and they were out of helium but this Ralph's saved the party! I received my balloons within 10 minutes of walking in on a Sun at 1030am, no pre-ordering. The other reason I'm writing this review is about purchasing giftcards. I recommend not to! I purchased 2 Apple giftcards, $50 and $100, back in Dec. We redeemed them right away but the $100 had issue. We ended up calling Apple for hours before they figured out it's a fake, only thing to do is go claim from store we purchased. We went back to this location 3 times before we had clarity on the process. I provided paperwork to corporate and followed up weekly and they eventually told me my case has been rejected but they will try one more thing. Almost 6 weeks later they miraculously reversed the charge on the credit card and added a $10 credit to my Ralph's card. While I'm immensely grateful for this, I won't be buying gift cards from any physical store unless the cards are from a secure location. Waiting to purchase cookies. They were priced at 599 with sticker right on the cookies. And yet I'm charged 649 on the way out the door. After reviewing my receipt I was offered a $.50 refund. Since the person ended up giving me the refund had no idea what was going on I'm sure the next person will get overcharged as well. This Ralph's is located off Moorpark Rd & Janss rd. I went to Starbuck today inside the Ralph's grocery store and was greeted by AJ a very sweet & kind young man. The Starbuck Station was Super Clean, Neat and very organized! I had some questions about the drinks today. AJ told me that everything is half off today, I was so excited & glad he told me. I really appreciate him & taking the time to really listen to what I needed. I got myself a strawberry açaí with lemonade it was delicious & cold! I'm not sure why there isn't a tip jar or on the card, when you can literally do it at any other Starbucks stores! If you can't tip them please give them a pay raise! This morning (01/08/26 - Moorpark and Janss Road) at Ralphs there were no checkers on duty and my 84 year old mother-in-law asked a clerk about it. The clerk looked at the six unlit check stand lamps and said," There are none open." My mother-in-law told the clerk that self-check would be very hard for her since she is required to wear a back brace due to a fall in August and surgery in September. The clerk just pointed toward the self-check area!!! My mother-in-law, a loyal customer of this Ralphs (she has lived in Thousand Oaks over 55 years) struggled with every part of checking herself out, including lifting filled bags off the bagging platform into a basket, which was still full of unscanned items. Do you know that this is illegal? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that you provide assistance to disabled customers. As a result her back pain level was at about a 9 out of 10 by the time she completed the task of checking herself out and getting the groceries into her car. This is a busy location, especially before dinner time. Morning time is best to arrive to get the best selection of produce and meats. By the end of the day, the produce section is very limited for green vegetables. The store is clean and there are plenty of staff that continually sweep and mop the isles. Checkouts are usually busy. Writing this review in effort to stop thinking about the profoundly mind-numbing experience I had at this store on the morning of Sunday, October 29. Popped in two get four half gallon containers of milk along with two bags of ice. As the cashier started ringing up my order, I asked the young man bagging the groceries if I could have one paper bag. With receipt in hand I scooped up the ice in one arm and grabbed the bag with the other. The moment it attained lift off from the check stand, I could tell the bag was too light- three years of experience bagging groceries at Central Nebraska's finest grocery store back in the mid '90s will give a person a deft touch that lasts a lifetime. I set everything back down the check stand and lo and behold, two of the half gallon containers failed to make their way into the bag. As I started to process how such a thing could have event transpired, I could feel my brain start to crumble. I know you can't expect much from a mop-headed teen on a Sunday morning but did Ralphs really send this poor kid out into the world to bag groceries with not even the most rudimentary lesson in spatial reasoning? And beyond that, did he really think that someone would be able to walk out of the store with carrying two half gallons of milk in a bag, two loose half gallons of milk, and 20lbs worth of ice with only the two hands they were born with? And to take things a step further, the kid put the two containers of milk with handles into the bag, rendering his bagging job worthless on a cosmic level far beyond the comprehension of humanity. I couldn't even bring myself to make eye contact with the kid out of fear that doing so would unlock a new level of becoming a grumpy old man from which I never could return. So instead, I quietly nudged the two half gallons in the bag together to make room for some friends and wouldn't you know, it was a perfect fit. read more

Admittedly, this was my first time shopping at this Ralph's location, I have had good experiences at other Ralph's stores, happened to be in the area, needing a couple of items so stopped in to pick them up. I looked and looked for Kraft Caramels . Saw an employee pushing a cart with groceries to restock the shelves so I walked along side him, asking him for direction. He kept moving so we walked and talked. He told me the candy was in one of three aisles and gave me the aisle numbers to check. Despite looking in all three aisles, I couldn't find them so went to the employee working in the self checkout . I explained I may have missed it however, wanted to know if this store carried the caramels before I searched again. She told me yes, they're right where I was and she set off to get them for me. When she returned she handed me the candies proclaiming , "See? They were right where I told you". Alrighty then, I thanked her and moved on. One more item and I would be finished ...looked for the Hershey's Dark cocoa powder and although I found other cocoa powder, I didn't locate that one. Wasn't going back to ask the lady in the self checkout so got in the regular checkout line. Happened that the store manager was working the register and he told me where to look. Who knew that this particular cocoa powder would be with the baking items rather than the regular cocoa powder?? Out of line I went and sure enough, the cocoa powder was where he had directed me. Waited in line once again, thanked him and left. Would I return to this Ralph's? Well, no. There are other places to shop, lots of them in fact where the employees will politely stop what they are doing and help a customer. Other stores will not have employees respond with 'See? They were right where I told you' or have me get out of line and wait all over again. Other stores will offer to have an employee get the additional item for the customer. And lastly, if I wanted a scavenger hunt at the grocery store I'd sign up for one. read more

They told me Mariah was in charge. She was I. I love this store!!! Everything is in it's place and they keep it clean which is a huge plus!!! Karts are where they should be and not regularly parked all over the lot, blocking parking spaces. The Deli department appears clean and I would see staff constantly sanitizing everything which, is a HUGE PLUS!!! I used the shelf check out where the lady who ran that area, was extremely nice!!! If you're ever in town, stop here to grab food from their deli... it was fresh and better then some restaurants. We took food for a mini picnic before heading to the Beach. Side note: California is huge on charging for bags even if you shop at these stores. The charge is only .10, but, I recommend bringing your own bag or just pay the( .10), I mean, I think that, I only have a problem with this because... When it comes to grocery shopping, I'm a hard sell. Much as I enjoy other kinds of shopping, the supermarket has to be on top of its game to earn love from me. This spacious Ralphs has elements that offer visual appeal, which is a plus. On the down side, a particular curbside activity by someone begging for attention was a turn-off, and almost kept me out of the venue. I know that some stores have posters out front discouraging patrons from engaging with solicitations to limit that activity. Yep, I'd rather not be accosted when I'm trying to handle a task that I don't particularly enjoy. Also, one of the reasons I stopped in was to pick up a variety of creamers for our home coffee bar. Their selection was sadly lacking some of the newer flavor offerings, and my favorite brand wasn't on sale, even a little bit. Much better choices available at Stater Bros., on my last visit there. A few weeks ago, Dear Hubby picked up an opera cake from Ralph's bakery, which was astoundingly good; a special treat. I wanted to return the favor for our anniversary. From the cashiers that can not explain why products are not scanning properly to waiting forever for customer service only to have to wait in a cashiers line again to attempt to get the issue resolved. I think they count on the fact that it is not worth peoples time to complain about a few dollars in errors. My exchange with Miriam C , who represented her self as some sort of a manager was horrible. Her customer service skills lack more than most. She managed to turn a bad situation worse when I believe it is her job to defuse the situation. Gone are the days that the customer is right. She managed to not only figure not figure out why my savings did not ring up,automatically but she still managed to turn it to my fault and I am the bad guy inconveniencing her by shopping in her store. I spent a good hour shopping for my elderly 85 year old mom and there were no checkers and they refused to check my buggy full of groceries. Last used Vons and they delivered to the wrong house(Door Dash) Vons refused to take responsibility for farming out. I was sick in bed and had to go driving around to find my mom's groceries. I thought, I will go to Ralph's to also be treated like crap. I don't know if this is state wide bad service or just my horrible area where I live. I refuse to use self check out and they have lost my business. When a store gives such crappy customer service, believe them when it suggests your business doesn't matter. Ralph's in Thousand Oaks (Moorpark Rd/Janss Rd) is our go to store for getting 80% of our Grocery needs. The stores layout is easy to navigate and there are plenty of check out lines including self check out if you choose. Produce: Their produce department always seems to be very well stocked. Rarely have I ever been there and not found which produce item I am looking for. Often, they will even have a produce clerk stocking the fruits and vegetables and they will ask how you are doing. Butcher: To be honest, I rarely get anything directly from their butcher behind the counter. Their packaged meats (steaks, pork chops, etc.) always look so fresh that I usually just grab and go. Deli: The deli is hit and miss as far as customer service. Everyone helping behind the deli counter is always nice, the problem is that sometimes they only have 1 or 2 people assisting customers and you may have to wait a while before being assisted if there is a line of deli customers. Fresh daily hand made sushi is available next to the Deli and it's actually really good. More often than not, you will see the sushi rolls and sushi being prepared right in front of you. This is great if you want to pick up a quick pre-made lunch or dinner. This location now has an indoor Starbucks which is nice if you want a coffee while you do your shopping. Definitely ensure you have a Ralph's club card as you can potentially save a lot of money each shopping visit and not to mention use your reward points at any Shell gas station for up to 20 cents off per gallon of gas. read more

Every week I come with my wife to do our grocery shopping here the Deli department closes at 9 pm we got there at 8:30 pm there was a deli clerk and says sorry we cleaned the machine to slice the cheese so we can not serve you anymore . We went to talk to the manager and said yes we decided to close at 8 pm now . Went to Ralph's Saturday at 10:30 am. It was the normal Saturday crowed but not to crazy. We got up to the check stands and they had 2 checkers going and the self check. The lines where at 6 to 7 people deep with lots of full carts, it being Saturday and all. I figured they would call up another checker or maybe a manger would open up a lane to get the crowed out but nope. We waited patiently for 30 mins to get through the line. How does the store manager not come up to help when it gets busy? Also did the stop hiring baggers all together? There was none. I do appreciate how hard the checkers worked and told them that when it was my turn to check out. I also asked them why the store manager didn't open up a lane and he chuckled and said idk. Think I'm going to give Stater Brothers a try. Its a bit of a drive but its always has employees when I have been there. read more

This is a large clean store with a decent selection of fresh produce and bakery items. Their variety of kitchen utensils and accessories is exceptional, much more than usually found in a grocery store. They also have an area in the back corner of the store with recently past-pull-date baked goods and other clearance merchandise. I always like to check this out for good deals! The staff here is friendly and helpful, and the store has several self-checkout lanes if you want to avoid the cash register lines. There is a salad bar, though I usually prefer the one next door at the pizza place. The cakes and pastries are good, and the candy isle has a very comendable selection. I was at the self checkout line when I rang up sliced melons that were in the pineapple section of the cooler. I told the assistant who was having a conversation with her coworker that I got the wrong item and went back to exchange the item. When I returned and looked at the check out list I told her I didn't want melons I wanted pineapple. She told me ' you didn't communicate that' as she removed it from my checkout.
