Their produce area is amazing and fabulous and the rest of the store offers so many varieties of upper scale products. It's expensive for sure but you get what you pay for! Everyone we encountered as we browsed and talked with were friendly, helpful, and really made the whole experience top notch! For breakfast we choose a few different things from the fresh food bar...bacon, potatoes, a slice of avocado toast and wife chose the baked sweet potato topped with an egg. So dang good and healthy and we felt so good not eating fast food! The avocado toast was the best I've had with smashed avocado topped with sliced hard-boiled egg and pea sprouts. The bacon was crispy and flavorful and the potatoes were great. I wish I would have taken more photos because they had so much to offer! Very disappointed with the customer service at this Erewhon location. Erewhon charges premium prices, so customers reasonably expect both high-quality food and attentive service. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Over the past year, I have frequently shopped here with my young son, who often needs to be held rather than sitting in the cart. On multiple occasions, I have arrived at the register carrying him, with my own reusable bags clearly visible, yet the cashier and other employees have made no effort to help bag the groceries. They simply stand by while I balance a child in one arm and pack everything myself. Today, my wife had an equally frustrating experience. She was waiting in line at the hot-food counter with our son in her arms. When it was her turn, the staff ignored her while customers behind her called out their orders and were served. She repeatedly tried to get the employees' attention but was overlooked. At checkout, there were two employees working at the register. Once again, neither offered to help place her purchases into her bag, despite seeing that she was holding our child. This is not about expecting special treatment. It is about basic courtesy, awareness, and customer service--especially from a store that positions itself as a premium shopping experience. One branch of the famously expensive LA based Erewhon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not as busy or overwhelming as other locations I've been to, but still pretty packed at the hot food bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices aren't actually as outrageous as people make them out to be (for the most part, at least) and you can get some fun affordable finds in the snack and drink sections. I picked up a bag of gluten free pretzels for around $3.50 that I really enjoyed, for example. The hot food is expensive, but not insane. Most plates are around $26-32 and you get a protein and two sides. I opted for the teriyaki chicken with gluten free Mac and cheese and the buffalo cauliflower. The sides were both exceptional but the chicken was just okay; it was a little dry and the skin on the dark meat was very chewy and borderline inedible. It was a decent amount of protein, however. I haven't tried the smoothies but the juices and wellness shots are all great. I'd especially recommend the ginger & orange wellness shot. Our travel AYSO team came down from Northern California for the finals for our community volunteer sponsored soccer organization, and we stopped by to grab drinks for the kids. Benny helped make sure everything was ready right on time, which honestly made a big difference with a bunch of tired players and parents trying to keep things moving between games. What stood out was how easy and positive the whole interaction was. Benny clearly runs a tight ship and the people working there reflect that. Erewhon - Overpriced Garbo - Grocery Near Me - Calabasas, California

Service was fast this time so I finally got to try some viral Erewhon goodies recently! This Erewhon was super clean, well lit, with lots of outdoor seating (perfect for a sunny day). I got the Hailey Bieber smoothie and spicy sushi sandwich. My family also got some cut mangoes and the avocado egg quesadilla (not pictured). The smoothie was tasty but not worth $20 and overrated in my opinion. Spicy sushi sandwich was bomb.com as well as the quesadilla and mangoes. The sushi chefs freshly made the sushi sandwich for me and I just had to wait 5 minutes. All the workers were also really nice, helpful and even funny. Although it was on the pricier side, the sushi prices were fair and I'd definitely come back to try more snacks and food items. read more
