I didn't give this Ralph's a fair assessment, the first time I came to it. Of course my first time was going there to unload all my coins at the Coinstar and getting cash, because I needed it. And yes, the cashier treated me like a common peasant. But that was then and ever since we started shopping here, it's been a great experience. We have a Ralph's closer to us in El Segundo, but fell in love with this one, mainly because store itself is bigger and much bigger parking lot, which is accommodating then the other one - the other one being short distance of LAX, would have put more thought into a bigger parking lot. I think the only two pet peeves I have with it, is that you easily get lost in there trying to find items you would normally find at the other locations. All Ralph's are set up differently, but this one's confusing and it's just best to start from one end of the store and work your way over and make sure you have a list, or you'll be frustrated that your having to do switch backs. Other peeve is people's manners, getting in front of your face & grabbing stuff w/out an excuse me or manners or shoving themselves in front of you - makes me feel like they're implying they're more somebody & I'm nobody bcz of The obvious....we'll effff you! Night shift manager is pretty rude to everyone. Employees are nice but she's just super unpleasant

I can't believe I'm the only one giving this place a two star! for what?? Don't get me wrong, this market place is designed very impressive like any other newer Ralph's Fresh Fare, and fruits and vegetables are very fresh! BUT WHY ARE ALL THE AISLES IS LIKE PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK WITH THE SHOPPER?? What I mean is they have cookies and crackers on aisle 1 next to the health and beauty aisle and the chips and dips on aisle 9 by the fruits and vegetables?? That's just an example. This is a nice store in the Manhattan Village Plaza. They have a nice selection of produce and meat, and a beautiful floral section. The store tends to be busy and the aisles are generally crowded, but I like this one better than the Ralphs on Hawthorne in Redondo Beach. The parking lot is cleaner here. read more

Stopped in to grab some last minute dinner preparations... couldn't find the pimientos. Figured they'd be by the olives but they were hidden in the canned goods. The sweetest Afro-American (purely descriptive) stocking produce took it upon himself to search out the hidden goods. Thankfully saving us another trip to another store. Beautiful store, at an awesome location. Stopped in randomly for the first time to pick up a couple of items. From what I could tell, the store was well-stocked and clean. Went to check out, a cashier by the name of Doris R. rang me out. My total came to $11.28. I mistakenly misread/misheard the total, so I hand her $15.25 in cash, which meant my change was $3.97. She hands me $3, and says "the 97 cents goes towards the bags..." in a cold manner. Granted it was only 97 cents, and I was too tired to care so I just went on my way. But yeah, I've worked as a cashier before, and know full well that's not good customer service. Which is why I'm giving 1 star. read more

This is the mid sized Ralph's in the area, like the others staff Is always very friendly and helpful. This location has an exceptional cheese section and a better than average meat section. Usually very well stock, fresh produce, dry aged beef and a very good selection of normal grocery items read more

Nice size store with pretty good stock. The salmon in the meat counter didn't look nice to me. The shrimp looked fresh. Not a great selection of spices. They probably have what the average shopper wants. read more

For the first time, I pre ordered an early Thanksgiving Holiday turkey dinner with all of the side dishes through the Deli at the Manhattan Beach store. It was terrible! The green beans were chewy & over cooked. I suspect they were old. The sweet potatoes had so much sugar added that they should be offered as a dessert item. The turkey was so greasy that it oozed oil. It Turned out to be a Butterball turkey. I guess I guess I own that failure, since I didn't ask. The mashed potatoes were ok as were the Hawaiian bread rolls. Do not waste your money or ruin a gathering by ordering their pre cooked meals . read more

I went into the Starbucks. The guy ahead of me was the guy asking for donations. He should not be allowed on that property. Not bc of the cause, but bc he's a jerk!!! I shouldn't be forced to be around rude people. He asked for a tea with caffeine. The Starbucks worker made him a decaf tea. Being an ex employee of sb I tried to let them know. The baristas did nothing to fix their error, which is not right, but the donation person told me , " I didn't ask you, mind your business. " Totally inappropriate response!!!!! Someone working in your property shouldn't be talking to your customers that way! I don't want to have to see that person everytime I come into Ralphs!!!!!!! This review is purely for Michelle at the self-checkout. Wow! She's amazing! There's a huge line of people using 6 self checkout stations and Michelle is the sole person overseeing everything. Inevitably, there's always a problem when trying to use a coupon or looking up an item. When I was there, 3 people had issues. Michelle was calm, kind and a pro and solving the problems. I cannot imagine being so together when so much is going on and how impatient people can be. Michelle never got snippy, called everyone honey and always said thank you. Thank you Michelle for making my hectic Saturday morning less so ans filling my morning with kindness and care. You are a gem and I hope Ralph's management acknowledges you for it! read more

It's always surprisingly well stocked and did I mention the beautiful flowers for every occasion they are just as you exit the store almost whispering "take me, celebrate me". The colorful fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked breads . There is no manager to be found at this location. I asked for one and a rather unhappy cashier that I was not speaking to intervened and said he is not around. Why not? They used to have 6 out of 12 self check out stands available for use. The other 6 sit idle as if they are in a time capsule. They are just never open. No reason - just the way it is. Anyway, some idiot decided to remove 3 self check out stands to replace them with a conveyor belt self check out stand. Now all lines are 30 to people shoppers deep. Shoppers are simply leaving the store without buying anything. My question is why do they have 6 self check out stands still idle and simply never open? Why is there no sense of urgency to improve service? Would it be too much trouble for the manager to come out of hiding and actually manage? read more

This Ralph's location appears to be a nicer option than mine, the "look" is cleaner but I can't say it's better. My store is huge, aisles are wide and it's easy to maneuver even when it's crowded. This Manhattan location is a little tight in both the store and the parking lot (it's crazy during the holidays). I did notice this location offers some higher quality food items and products that aren't offered in my store, obviously the demographics dictate this. It is quite nice to have this option even if it's a bit more expensive. I'm not a fan of union stores as I think their prices are higher than the non-Union equivalents and their service isn't any better than my local TJ's or Sprouts, but I do like the variety of options. It's local and convenient and will stay on my go-to list. read more

Even when I moved to other cities in the South Bay I still came to this Ralphs to shop. It's more upscale because of the city which means they offer better wines, beers, cheeses and a larger butcher selection. The staff here is pretty friendly for being a grocery store. Everyone seems busy but is still willing to stop and help. They have a Starbucks inside but I always go to the Coffee Bean outside because their coffee is just plain better. The produce selection here is huge. They have stuff that some other grocery stores don't have... passion fruit, leche, all kinds of peppers. (yum, habineros!) The deli here is great too. The sandwiches are way better than quizones and subway and they're cheaper. Most of the deli staff is great although I did have to deal with one very annoyed young man once. He just seemed to be having a bad day or just didn't want to be there. This Ralphs used to be open 24 hours which was great for those late nights/early mornings, but just go next door to CVS instead. This is the #1 or #2 revenue producing Ralphs store in the country , so Ralph's corporate probably doesn't care about it. Upscale area, high traffic, but terribly managed. The only reason I sometimes go is its on my way home from work and the store has self checkout. 7 out of 10 times the fish has been bad, same day, so I go elsewhere now to buy fish. And the store itself is VERY overcrowded. If you are genuinely concerned about covid, you may want to avoid it or be there when they open in the morning. Just don't buy the fish! read more

This is a cool place to come if you are looking for good quality meat. If you know the South Bay you know Manhattan Beach is where the socialites live and this place caters to them. I come in here from time to time just to see what they have on special if I am in the area and today I was. The parking lot is HUGE. This Ralphs shares its space with a bagel shop, coffee bean, a sporting good store, a CVS, several banks, several restaurants and a Mall. Now that the Holidays are slowly coming to an end I can actually get in and out of this parking lot with ease. I would not suggest coming out of your way to shop at this market but if you are at a Ralphs close by and they have special on Steak you might want to look at this one for better bang for your buck. I have picked up Steaks here that would easily run $40+ in any restaurant on La Cienega north of Wilshire Blvd. read more

It cost around $15.00 for a bundle of firewood and Duraflame log, and the clerk was kind enough to give me a book of matches from her drawer. We also picked up some delicious snacks. One thing that stands out about Ralph's are the kind clerks. Everyone was kind, personable, and caring. We will most certainly be back. read more
