It has been so hot lately. I don't want to cook or eat warm food. Thankfully Bristol Farms has their awesome Poke bar to go! I got half salmon, half Hawaiian with just a little bit of rice at the bottom. I added refreshing, crunchy cucumber salad, and some crunchy onions on top. This was exactly what I wanted. Refreshing, filling, and delicious! The reason that I came in is because my coworkers and I had a conversation earlier that week about quick and easy places to pick up a delicious lunch. My coworker prefers to walk there grab food and eat in the comfortable and air conditioned eating space, where I prefer to grab and go on my way to the office. It is easy to get overwhelmed when I come into the Bristol Farms because there are so many things I want to try and everything sounds better than the last. Fortunately, they do have a really wide selection of serve yourself or pre-assembled dishes - hot or cold! Have an office potluck and forgot to bring something? They have you covered have an event after work and need to bring a hostess gift? They have you covered! Want to treat yourself? Wanted to try some of their prepared foods to compare to Whole foods. 1. Mushroom soup: not a lot of flavor 2. Baked french toast: Got this because it looked pretty popular by the look of how much was already taken. Can see why it's popular. 3. Mushroom egg souffle: it's okay. the edges are too rubbery. 4. Pepperoni pizza: not great. Dry. 5. Regular and spicy pokey: spicy and a bit too salty. I think it's hotter than the poke at Jus Poke. The regular one is not overly salted compared to Gelson's which was way too salty. Not sure if I'd come back to try other items in the hot deli but maybe other pastries and the poke. read more

She works at the deli/sandwich counter and always has a positive attitude, even when I get a little particular with my order . She's patient, friendly, attentive, and truly makes customers feel taken care of. Went back again and ordered 4 sandwiches this time, all the chimichurri sandwich. I asked the lady that was helping me if I could get it on Cibatta bread like last time and she said yes, then I walked away to go pick-up everyone's snacks (chips, cookies and drinks), came back later to pick-up the sandwiches and the they were all on a French roll or some sort of roll that was not Ciabatta. The roll wasn't bad, but I prefer the Ciabatta better. I bought 2 extra sandwiches for 2 people that never had it before and they both made sure to tell me that was a very good sandwich. Even though I didn't get it on my preferred bread, the sandwich was still delicious. I've looked everywhere for President butter and called this location. I was put on hold and transferred for what seemed like 20minutes. But finally got someone who helped me and since they had the product, it made up for the hold. As I was checking out the cashier asked if I was the one who called. She apologized for the wait and not knowing too well what I was talking about. This acknowledgement was huge for me! I felt seen! She didn't have to tell me but she did and I appreciate this store much more for that! Love all the varieties of items. Their fresh baked cookies are popular and always warm. I got one of each. Both are very big. If you're a fan of very underbaked cookies with a lot (too much IMO) chocolate, you'll like Bristol Farms'. At $4 each, that's a good deal. *Brown Butter Milk Belgian Chocolate Chunk - the brown butter flavor was great. The cookie tasted better on the day bought. *Belgian Dark Chocolate Chunk Sea Salt - tasted better the next day. Their floral section has some reasonably priced options as well. I don't shop here regularly, just particular stand outs, like their carrot cake and Irish soda bread. Plenty of parking spots in this strip mall and it's not far off the 405. read more

I come here at least once a year. To be specific, I'm here like clockwork every Christmas to pick up brioche rolls and whatever ever final items mom needs to prepare the feast. The rolls are pretty excellent. Sometimes I'm here during other seasons to help my mom shop. It's definitely a good place to grab lunch too. My detailed deli report is from the sandwich counter. The tri-tip cheesesteak was crazy gourmet. They'll heat up your marinated tri-tip until it's good and hot and then layer on the provolone cheese. They stick it back in the oven so the cheese is melted just so. Then they add the mushrooms, peppers and onions layer. Perfect! I only ordered a sandwich here because I was so busy doing my Christmas shopping. It'll be an intentional stop lunch in the future, even if I'm not buying groceries. What else can I tell you about the store? Knowledgeable folks in the liquor section, but no bargain pricing there. Overall, it's less expensive than shopping at Gelson's. we had 2 separate pickup orders under different names and they ended up getting the breads on our sandwiches mixed up which ended up being fine since we're together and not picky, but def something to note if it was mixed up with someone else's order. we ended up enjoying the overall sandwich itself and i perhaps got lucky because i ended up with the ciabatta on mine which i would've customized for if i could've, but might have been a sad mistake if the other order was for some random person and they got a less desired bread. the chicken was definitely much more flavorful although i don't recall them also adding the default balsamic it's supposed to come with. the turkey for my sandwich is also a bit on the drier side and much more light/subtle in any taste despite adding chipotle aioli although i didn't really taste any of that either. when we came to pick up, i guess they still have an additional process to input the order and print out another confirmation of the order (even though it's all paid and complete through doordash) but they weren't entirely sure if that had already been done, so despite ordering for pickup, we still had to wait another 10 minutes for them to figure out whether or not that had already been done. typically, we're not bothered by a wait, but they took the smoothie out of the fridge upon arrival so it was just sitting out. by the time i was able to actually enjoy it, it was pure liquid and had no smoothie texture which was very disappointing as i rarely get to enjoy a smoothie and only really do so for its texture :( the tea was fine as it being watered down from the melted ice doesn't really affect it too much as they come pretty strong too which is refreshing and great for someone who loves a good (unsweetened) tea that DOESNT just taste like water. very light and natural ~ although this drink they did just have sitting out from when it was ready until we were given the orders too so the ice was pretty much all melted too when we actually received the orders. read more

I know...it's expensive but I buy most of my protein here (meat, chicken). It's quality stuff. I will occasionally buy fish or shrimp here. (I don't get my seafood here too often because I have a fish monger from Nor Cal that drives to a farmer's market each weekend that I am willing to drive to.) I drove 20 miles to this location for cooked meats only to discover the department had closed and everything had been put away early due to employees ending their shift and relieving employees not being present. I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism and how she took immediate action to address and resolve my issue. I can tell she is dedicated to her job and this store. Not only does Bristol Farms have one of the better tasting and freshest meats for a grocery store, but did you also know that they have one of the better tasting poke bars too? Being from Hawaii, I've tried a lot of poke bars trying to find poke that is similar to what I get in Hawaii, and Bristol Farms has always been a favorite. Not only is their fish really fresh, but also very flavorful. My favorite so far has been their salmon poke. Im always taking home a jar every time I make a stop to get their steaks. Around 10:20 AM this morning I went to Bristol Farms like I always do during the weekends to get a smoothie or a coffee. I got a lions mane latte with regular milk proceeded to go to my job about three hours into my day after drinking the coffee, I was violently ill. I ended up having to go home from work because of it. I contacted the store and requested to speak to a manager. Dell, the manager answered the phone and asked what it was regarding. I explained the situation and I explained how important food safety is and you know people can get very sick and he goes well, I have my food handlers card so I'm very well aware and I said well that's great so do I I'm just making you aware because I had to leave my job because of what I drank at your grocery store. He was very unpleasant on the phone not very kind did not show any compassion due to his place of business selling possibly bad drinks and food did not ask for my contact information and was a bit conniving. It definitely made the situation feel unresolved. He said he would make an incident report, but didn't ask for any of my information. Not really sure how that works as I also work around food safety. I know the proper protocols and this is definitely not one of them. I will definitely not be going back to this Bristol Farms ever again. I'm very upset with the response that I got, don't go to the juice bar is all I have to say they clearly don't label their items properly and care about customer safety. Good going DELL. If You Know, You Know -- Stay Away !!! There's a quiet hostility at this Bristol Farms location in El Segundo -- and if you're a melanated person, you'll feel it the moment you walk in. The coldness from some of the employees isn't just bad customer service -- it's personal. You can sense the contempt, the passive aggression, and in some moments, the outright provocation. It's not imagined. It's not subtle. It's racial tension disguised as "indifference." It's very clear some of these workers are projecting their own oppression onto Black customers -- and it creates an unsafe, unwelcoming environment that no one should have to endure just to buy groceries. I've never had this experience at any other Bristol Farms -- only this one. And it speaks volumes. So here's your warning: if you feel that energy from an employee here - don't ignore it. Trust it and document + report it to corporate. Take your money to Erewhon or WholeFoods Market or any other Market that trains staff to treat everyone with basic human decency -- not to lash out at customers based on skin tone. We see it. Parking is decent, I didn't have issues finding a nearby spot on a Saturday afternoon. My memory is not good, but I think this was the general layout: Left side: Flowers, bakery, fruits/vegetables, poke bar, salad bar, sushi, deli, cheeses, other hot foods Back: Meat, seafood, eggs, dairy Middle aisles: Supplements, frozen foods, snacks, pet food, pantry items, health/beauty products, household supplies, etc. etc. etc. Right side: Wine, spirits, beverages, and more that I am forgetting Front: Self checkout, registers, juice/coffee bar Didn't spend too much time because I wasn't here for groceries, I was looking for a quick bite. Took a glance at their drink selection, no Keto Cloud smoothie to be found again! Ended up choosing a bottle of their fresh watermelon juice, which quenched my thirst but wasn't anything special. I also scooped myself a bowl of chicken noodle soup. It was pretty hearty and not too salty. Best purchase of the day was the white chocolate macadamia cookie, with its slightly crisp along the edges and chewy center. Pricey of course. This review is only for the cookie. This was my last stop on my "Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in LA" tour. I purchased 4 Originals. They are $3.75 each. First of all, these cookies are MASSIVE. I didn't weigh them, but they were definitely the heaviest and largest of the 3 places I went to this weekend. They were still warm, broke apart easily and were super gooey inside.
