On the border of Manhattan Beach and Hawthorne is probably the best location for a Starbucks coffee shop to grab Costco shoppers, Aerospace workers and surfers coming and going to the beach. This evening I came to charge my phone. Just that simple. Arrived (actually the receipt time) at 6:11pm stayed until closing. Dallas & CoCo set the atmosphere for your business during my visit. Their attitudes, working together, not talking loud, no joking, and Dallas was very respectful, doing their jobs with class and dignity. I'm a mother, grandmother & a great-grandmother. I never write reviews but the guy handing out coffee was greeting everyone, being so sweet and making people laugh, and served me my order when I was sitting down. He was making the job fun and you could tell it made everyone working behind the counter have more fun too. Some Starbucks can be iffy but the coffee and egg bites were delish! Horrible service. Workers have attitudes majority of the time and don't assist well. Drinks are always made oddly. Location doesn't even give ice water. I know most don't go to Starbuck's for a cup of coffee, but I do and for the 2nd time in a week, this Starbucks only wanted to sell me Pikes, not dark, not blonde. Pikes. Pikes is like bitter instant coffee. Blah. Most stores, like the better run locations on Oceangate and the one on Douglas will offer a pour over. The service started off nice. I was sitting at a table, but the sun was shining in my eyes from a window. It has a blind that could be pulled down and I asked if they could pull it down and they refused citing safety reasons. They could've pulled it halfway down. Made me wonder why the shade is there in the first place? Made the experience unpleasant for me, and I had to move to the stools because the charging outlets are limited in this store. The high tables above the stools have less space and are not as comfortable. Starbucks you can do better! This is not an ideal location for working. Make sure your device is fully charged before coming here. read more

Rude and poor customer service from Andrea lead/supervisor.As soon as I walked in she already had poor attitude. When I asked for a venti cup of ice she stated that there's a shortage on cups and couldn't give it to me with a smirk on her face. When I wanted to pay she didn't want to take my 100 dollar bill because they didn't take large bills. I asked for her name and corporate's number she stated she didn't have it and If I called they would tell me the same thing and laughed. I did call corporate and they stated that Starbucks does not have a shortage in cups and unless they have a sigh that they don't take bills larger than 20 she should've taken my 100 dollar bill. I have been a regular for this store for one year and 8 months. This went from my favorite Starbucks to now my least favorite. It's very evident that new management is in full effect and is running this place in the ground. I asked to speak to the manager to report a barista's rude behavior towards the staff and they said "she is the manager"! I couldn't believe it. Just not the type of experience I want to hear early in the morning to start my day servicing the public. Unprofessional and distasteful. Best wishes to this store. Very conveniently located, but if you are using this store for mobile pickup, expect to be frustrated. The mobile pickup is behind the counter, so you have to wait for one of the very busy baristas to have a chance to acknowledge you and look for your order. Seems like some of the locals know the game plan here and I think it's pretty common to just yell at any barista when you come in for your mobile order so that somebody gets on it. read more

This Starbucks is right around the corner from Bed Bath and Beyond and Costco. It's tucked away so you don't see it unless you know about it. It wasn't very busy when I was there this afternoon. I ordered a turkey pesto sandwich which they warmed up for me. It was quite good and filled with a large amount of turkey. One of the gift items for sale was a tumbler for $40 which would allow the user to have free coffee or tea the entire month of January 2016. The tumbler was nice and sturdy and this would probably be a nice present for a coffee or tea drinker who lived or worked near Starbucks. There was a large variety of holiday gift cards, so I picked up a couple while I was there. Nice baristas at this location. read more

Fast free-Wifi and plenty of little tables for studying, it gets crowded during the morning rush but most people want their drinks and to get to work not hang around. This location is right off the freeways so location is a win, also it doesn't feel as dicey as other nearby Starbucks, I see police routinely hang around in the mornings on the patio outside. I usually don't order fancy drink combos, so maybe I have less to be disappointed with or just very low expectations.
