In the two decades I've called 4S Ranch home, I've watched this Ralphs go through three or four "facelifts" to keep up with the trend. It's basically the neighborhood's glow-up king. The staff is incredibly organized, but honestly? They feel more like an extended family at this point. I'm there at least every other day--sometimes for a full haul, and other times just to hit my step goal for the afternoon (don't judge, the AC is great). For the aspiring chef, the premium counters are where it's at. My personal weak spot is the butcher shop. We're talking top-tier prime cuts, grass-fed ribeyes, and dinosaur tomahawk steaks straight out of the Flinstones. In addition, they offer some serious seafood options, including the occasional King Crab sighting. If you live within five miles, there is zero reason to fight traffic elsewhere. It's the ultimate one-stop shop for fresh fare and friendly faces. read more

On May 22, 2026 about 7:50 AM. That was just this past Friday, I and my 10-year-old daughter walked into Ralph's trying to get a few things for the day since I was taking her to work with me. I didn't even have a cart and neither of us had a purse,backpack etc. On my way out of the self checkout lane, we were stopped by a white man who's chubby but more so shaped like a pear . He was awkwardly standing in front of the liquor with the glass doors open as if advertising the alcohol. He was leaning on one of the shelves with his elbow. These were his exact words Pear: excuse me can I speak with you (so here I'm being held up on my way to work by a white man who is shaped like a pear) Me: what? Pear: A FEW NIGHTS AGO THE TWO OF YOU WERE IN HERE TRYING TO STEAL SOME CHEESE (so here he is accusing not only me, but my 10-year-old daughter of trying to steal cheese) Me: we weren't here Pear: oh, you weren't here? you must have a sister. (And he he's smiling at me like what he's doing as appropriate, between the false accusations , the look and smirks and the alcohol pose, I just didn't know what the hell was going on) Me: we just moved here Pear: oh, you just moved here. (With his jaw drooped) Me: we're not from here Pear: have a good day (with the most racist, hateful demonic look on his face. Or he was just satisfied for having harassed me and my daughter.) Me: God bless you, I walked to my car and by the time I'm getting in my seat, I look over and the man is outside of the store, staring right at me and my 10-year-old daughter getting into my car. Pear: stares at us, looks angry and is acting as if he's putting some stuff away in the front of the store. He was just in front of the liquor section with the doors open. There are not many Mexicans, living out here and I highly doubt that there was a mother that looks like me with a 10-year-old daughter that looks like my daughter walking around the damn store trying to steal some damn cheese.!! He is full of hate and racism and made that story up to make us feel uncomfortable. He did this to us in front of other customers and other employees. There were other men standing by other employees standing by, as he accused my innocent 10-year-old daughter of trying to steal cheese. The thing is that I'm not a coward and I am going back into that store. Not many grocery stores are around here and I'm not driving far just to avoid his racist ugly pear looking self. The only difference is that I'll be prepared this time for his harassment. I will be videotaping everything so that I can go back and report it with evidence to corporate. And this review here serves me as proof of what has already started. read more

We have a choice of grocery stores and they each have their benefits, but the Ralph's at 4-S Ranch is a favorite, as they are always well stocked with the items we use and their produce section is as good as it gets, with quality goods and some things which are hard to find elsewhere, such as Asian ingredients and organics, particularly good for vegetarian diets. Parking is reasonable and the staff are helpful and friendly. The deli counter is slow, but the products are bountiful. The meat and fish counter is excellent, particularly for seafood items like scallops, clams and mussels. Like with all stores, it is wise to shop their weekly flyer and emails to spot special deals. read more

1 star for Pharmacy. Grocery store should get 5. Rudest pharmacy person ever when I went to pick up my prescription. I have a new insurance and she was of zero help to even see if there's any coverage. Seriously gave me tone and attitude and I have never had that issue with anyone else there before. Top it off. She wore a pin they said 'Be nice to me, I have the pills' when she was the mean and rude one. Guess I have to switch pharmacies now. read more

I used to come here for my weekly grocery outing but found it has gone downhill. I decided to get a few things today. I couldn't find pimentos so I put my items on the belt after asking the checker where they might be. She gave me the wrong location. When I told her I still couldn't find them she said Ralph's may be out of them. I asked if she could call somebody. She asked an employee to go look but she couldn't find them either. I finally asked another employee and she checked an inventory gadget she had and told me where they were. Lo and behold she located them. The checker's name was Mandana. She was rude and seemed frustrated with her job. There was only one check- out lane at 4 PM. The meat at this store is awful and shelves are often disorderly. I am so glad I go to Major Market for a quality experience where people actually are conscientious about their jobs. read more

I really like this location. However I was disappointed tonight to see only one cashier who was working very hard at the self checkout lane. I did not see any other employees, except one who walked over, spoke to the cashier and then went to the office. The checkout lane was 12 people deep. Please schedule better for the customers. So it is a complete supermarket with deli, bakery, bank services, etc. What makes it great is they have electronic recycling in their parking lot every so often. Ask the men where to out what and sign in their book. Tadah, done. Location is great, too. It's surrounded by great restaurants, stores and services. Lots of parking. read more

BIG CLEAN STORE HERE! This Ralph's store is huge with big, wide aisles everywhere. The produce area had fresh, brilliant fruits and vegetables organized and presented neatly. The produce prices weren't the cheapest but were still reasonable. The store has its own cheese store within near the produce area. It's a full smorgasbord of exotic cheese wheels and rare finds. It was very impressive. The store carts are kind of small compared to other industry standards like Vons or Costco. There's not room to put stuff underneath the cart. If we are loading up for the week for our big family , it's easy to run out of room. We don't run out of room at other stores. The staff was friendly and service was attentive. We liked this store overall and will return for more. read more

We love the staff at this Ralph's. We always find exactly what we need and then some. The selection here is decently big for a smaller sized grocery store. Fair warning, it gets pretty busy around rush hour as expected but I still manage to get in and out fairly quickly. I've never had any issues with their produce section, it always seems to be pretty fresh. Definitely a nice alternative if you don't find what you need at the Target down the road or don't want to drive to Vons. One time I bought a milk that had a leak in it and I immediately took it back. The woman at self check out told me to get a new one and that was that. No hassle or even going through the process of exchanging. There's even a few cashiers that recognize our kids and always say hi to them by name. 10/10 for this Ralph's location. read more

This is a high end, larger Ralphs in the 4S Ranch community. During this coronavirus lockdown, I have not experienced any wait to enter this store, or any abnormally long lines at the checkout. Must wear a mask, no reusable bags allowed, must pay ten cents per paper bag. As a larger, high end Ralphs, this store has a good selection of most everything. Fish, poultry and red meat always seem to be good quality, and they even have USDA Prime meats and some Choice quality dry aged steaks. The sushi here is usually very good. During this lockdown period, you do need to select all produce carefully because some of the fruit is subpar or bruised. The only areas where I notice current deficiencies are with toilet paper and disinfectant products. Pickup and delivery available. read more

I bought watermelon today at $.19 a pound seeded watermelon big sign but when I got home I saw that's rotten inside , I went back today September 25 at 7:53 pm to Exchange. Nicole said that I owe her $19.24 because that watermelon is not on sale anymore she said she checked her app and then she said: . You need to pay $19.24 . I said that's incorrect. Let's go look at the price. I'll show you there is a big sign , she said no in my app it says $.89 per pound , I said I don't know if it's expired or what's wrong but there is a big sign on both sides. Even though I like the produce here, I'm done with this Ralph's. The staff here aren't friendly . Last year a tall, strapping manager never greeted me and then just watched me as I bagged my own groceries. No thank you -- nothing. Today, another cashier never acknowledged me, so I let her bag the groceries. I would've done it myself because I know they're short handed, but since she didn't have the common decency to say "hello", I didn't help. I don't experience this at the RB Albertsons or Major Market in Escondido. Their cashiers always acknowledge their paying customers. In the current climate of our society, I think everyone could stand to be kind and respectful to each other. I don't find that to be the case with this Ralph's staff. So, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Where to start, I've been coming to this grocery store for over 8 years. Besides everything here being overpriced still shopped. This past October 4th I decided to go purchase a $300 Apple gift card as a gift. I buy it check to make sure the card is active before giving it as a present. Well the card was invalid went into the store for not even a minute later let the cashier the card and wasn't working. The assistant manager said to call Kroger number etc... I left upset but ok I'll follow procedures. After an hour in hold spoke to someone very helpful said he called the store spoke to a manger that they would refund me due to selling me a very old gift card that was invalid. I informed him i was working and would go after work. After going to get my refund after work they informed me no manager was there. To comeback in the morning. I went back in the morning and the manager blond white women. Seemed very upset more annoyed than anything to help me. Immediately saying no refunds or n gift cards. I explained I had called etc etc. she then took a deep sigh rolled her eyes and got on a phone called the number I had called. N not even explaining my situation just kept saying no refunds right. She then hands me the phone to speak to the person on the phone who had an even worst Attitude then the manager. Told me no refund. I explained said I spoke to someone who said yes to the refund. She then proceeds to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Long story short I was pretty much told to fuck off. I left upset and down $300. I decide to call again got a much more helpful person on the phone they got my. Email n would look into everything I had my receipt the gift card my debit card. In other words I got receipts. Fast forward a month and a half later n get n email saying I will be receiving my refund to the card I used for the purchase in 10 business days. Great about damn time. WRONG!!!!!! Almost mid December and still no fuckin refund. Multi million dollar company and can't do the right thing and refund what's right. Ridiculous never again will I shop here and you can bet your ass I will tell everyone this horror story! I enjoy getting my groceries at Ralph's every week. Everyone is kind and helpful. Their bread selection is superb, and do not sleep on the fresh meat department. Some of our favorites are the seasoned chicken and carne asada beef ( for the grill) and their thick cut rib eye. Throw some thyme, garlic, and truffle butter on that and it's a 5 star steak. One thing I would love for them to add is a salad bar, that would be pretty amazing. read more

I used to love this store, however I will no longer be shopping here. The cheese department is excellent thanks to Anna and Judy at checkout is a sweetheart but they can't make up for the rest of the store. The meat dept has gone way downhill, I bought meat there and the next day when I went to cook it, yikes, it was rancid. My kid worked here and the closing manager Estella was super rude and mean to him. I don't support businesses that treat employees with disabilities poorly so I'm done with this store. read more

There's store manager's name is Ryan and he doesn't have that much of a personality. He brings down the employees morale and he's not very effective. This specific store can do a lot better. Little bit of History first. Ralphs is owned by Albert G. Ralphs of the Ralphs family who also owns most of the land in 4s Ranch area. Since this Ralphs is located on the home turf, it is maintained with class and affection. I am shopping here and very regular for past 6 years. But why I am writing this review now, its because of Judi F the cashier Ralphs is known for his excellent customer service, they will not compromise on that for any reason. But I am here because of this particular incident on 9/1/2016 around 9:30 pm. I came here just to pick up a gallon of milk, and I only took my Ralphs Gift card, as I usually walk and do not want to carry my wallet. Once I came to the cashier lane, and gave the card, I was short by a $1.54, which is not pennies or dimes. I asked the Cashier (Judi F) to keep the milk and I was ready to walk back home to get my wallet. She did not think twice and just gave me the milk and said it is ok and handed over me the milk. Ralphs is today where it is because of the staff like Judy F. This is a business style happens only in India (and similar countries) based on trust. We pay the shops Monthly or weekly, its all based on Trust. I felt home last night :) Even with sprouts coming to the neighborhood, Ralphs will be the King in Ralphs home. MANAGEMENT - WAKE UP !!!! Where is the Store Manager - Ryan ? Maybe 4S can bring him back. He would NEVER accept this unacceptable leisure standard. Why is it being accepted now by Management? Your store employees are required to wear a name tag and an apron so that customers can recognize them as an employee of Ralph's and ask questions as needed. Your night/stocking crew and early morning employees other than the Front End employees are too busy playing around and they do not wear their required "uniform." This continued practice causes customers to have to seek out help from the Front End employees because no one else can be recognized as Ralphs employees as there are many vendors in the store at those hours. What a waste of time as many of us are on our way to work and are just stopping in for a few items and/or there are other customers that enjoy shopping early before the crowds. read more

I purposely go into the store rather than do online delivery ( due to the great customer service I generally receive. ) However , today I was greeted by a new check out teller ( Amber ) who was unfriendly , in a hurry , had major attitude and who was quite rude . I don't come to this part of town all that much but will stop by this Ralphs if I'm in the area. This Ralphs, for whatever reason, seems a bit dark (in terms of lighting) to me. The aisles also appear a bit close together as well. A few things: - Starbucks location inside - decent floral department located in front - small 22oz craft beer selection What I DO like about this location is their hot deli section. They have an AMAZING $6.99 combo deal which includes choice of 1 protein and 2 sides. You can even choose their meatballs as a side! I've tried their prime rib and tri tip but prefer the tri tip a heck of a lot more. The combo comes with a french roll and a drink too. My last visit there (around 330p on a weekday afternoon) proved unsuccessful as they ran out of tri tip so I decided to forego on the combo deal that particular day. Plenty of parking but beware of the constant solicitors that sit in front of their two entrances (you'd be surprised how aggressive girl scouts get during their cookie sale time...j/k...kinda). read more

Ralphs, I'm gonna be totally real with you about this star demotion. I enjoy the store but that deli counter needs some serious help. In terms of length, this particular deli is probably one of the longest I've seen in a supermarket but where it succeeds in the number of items carried it lacks in organization and management. Whenever I'm here it seems like there's always multiple lines forming across the entire length of the counter and there's no organized system of who receives service first because the whole department is understaffed or there's simply too much landmass to cover. A ticketing system was implemented not too long ago where you take a number and then you receive service in a numerical order but that strategy appears to have been abandoned fairly quickly. The ticket machine is still there and there's a "now serving" digital monitor that always reads 00. On my most recent visit I took a number just to be safe. It was 00. Needless to say, I was not being served. There's even a sign saying to take a number but this all seems futile. Once I was told "I'll be right with you" three times over the course of six minutes. As far as I could tell she was the only person there. This most recent visit there were lines forming for lunch yet employees seemed to be doing maintenance tasks, such as cleaning the display glass. Look, I'm glad that cleanliness is a top priority. Truly I am. But at lunch when there are people waiting and there's no order and we're just standing there, it's gotta be all hands on deck, man. The people working in this department deserve to have that organization. What if they ask "who's next?" and two customers insist it's their turn and decide to have it out? When you're waiting in line for food, your primal instinct comes front and center. I'm just sayin'. Here's an idea: Position a couple stanchions with retractable belts right in the center of the counter to start a line. Put a sign up that says "LINE STARTS HERE!" Eliminate the ticket system because it's obviously not working and try to create some kind of order. Right now it's an absolute free-for-all and it's frustrating every single time I go. It makes me NOT wanna stuff my face with overly fried carbohydrates, and that bothers me. I love you Ralphs, but we gotta get it together here. read more

But I was stressed when their Starbucks incompetence took my mobile order when they closed early and the head ralphs manager, I believe his name was Rob or something. He was bald with glasses; he kind of rudely shooed me off with a simple I don't know what to do. Meanwhile I'm sitting there wanting to cry because I can't get my $35 back. Since this is conveniently located at a shopping center that I frequent, it is my go-to grocery chain store. I prefer Ralphs over other chain supermarkets like Albertsons or Vons. It gets busy on the weekends and parking can be a hit or miss. There is tons of parking, but don't go during peak hours. Many families go to this store since it's near residential homes that are walking distance. This particular Ralphs keeps it fairly clean, stocked, and well-organized. Nothing too special here, but if you are looking to buy only a few items, this place may seem overwhelming. I do find their drinks reasonable priced. Most times, their drinks go on sale such as their kombucha, vitamin water, Kevita brand drinks, coconut water, and fruit juices. They also have super cheap frozen veggies that I stock up on. They do have a lot of selection of fresh produce, but their organic section needs improvement. Prices can be steep and I find the quality inconsistent. If I'm paying for organic, I expect fresh produce. I guess you have to find out when they get their new inventory and shop that day to be on the safe side. They also have a discounted produce section that I check out for ripe fruits and veggies that I plan to consume that day. I have found great deals on organic tomatoes, salad blends, and organic fruits such as grapes, berries, mangoes, apples, and cherries. Make sure to use your member club card to get the discounts though. They have a Starbucks inside of course (for you addicts), assortment of fresh flowers, and even a sushi/salad bar with a sushi chef who prepares them on site. They also have a deli section. I hear their sandwiches are pretty decent. Customer service can be a yay or nay ! Some are friendly, sociable, and greet you while others tend to avoid making eye contact or smiling. So I make the first effort. Sometimes it brings a positive response and other times it doesn't. Hey now.. better being the one who smiled rather than the one who didn't smile back riiiight ???!!! Overall, if I need something to grab quick this is my go-to spot near home ! Oh and Jimbo's is a few stores away and that place TOPS this when it comes to organic !!! read more

It was a repeat of the last time we were here and so glaring that I decided I'm going to post on Yelp. I won't use the clerks name but "hello management of Ralph's ". if you don't have staff that are friendly in the delicatessen section find somebody else That wants to work there other than somebody my age who is obviously grumpy.
