I had a quiet room facing an interior green area. My room was warm but I was able to open the window and that made it very pleasant. And it wasn't noisy at all other than the church bells ringing late in the morning but that was a joy to hear. The area around the hotel is wonderful. And so walkable. Many great restaurants close by and a grocery store right around the corner. You can walk to the Grand Place by going right or left out of the hotel. Close to everything but in a nice and quiet upscale area. I look forward to my nice time here.

The rooms are a bit dated, but our room was very spacious and the bathroom had double sinks and a separate makeup/hairstyling area. Our big problem was the Air Conditioning. It has just been unseasonably hot, but the AC wasn't going below 24.5 (about 76 degrees). When I called down, the first person said to give it time and she would send a fan up. When I called down a few hours later, the person said she and her colleague would change the settings on their end and set the thermostat to 20 (68 degrees). That evening, it's still around 24 degrees, so we opened the windows and put the fan in one of the windows. It helped cool the room down, but also let in tons of noise and light; bad for sleeping. The next day, when none of this was resolved, I asked to speak to a manager and explained to her the situation. She assured me that she would have a technician look at it and monitor to ensure that it is working properly. By the time we returned later, our room was around 22 (71.6; not what I wanted, but much more tolerable). Again, I find it annoying that none of the other people actually worked to help me, but I am glad that someone did so I can get some sleep. It's definitely not a luxury hotel, as far as service goes, but it served our purposes well in Brussels. If you stay here and need something, I suggest going to the manager. And, to the manager(s), I suggest retraining your employees to be honest with customers about what they can and will do.

One day, it was cooler outside than in our room. We made 3 calls about this issue, but they were never able to cool it down. They did quickly offer and deliver a portable fan, so I suspect this is a common issue here. If you're like us and prefer a cool room to sleep in (it was always 23 degrees Celsius or more in our room), you should check elsewhere.

Included in the room rate that the Conference arranged for was the hotel's breakfast buffet. It was standard Belgium styled buffet, above average in selection and quality. Really nice change, especially when it took me 21 hours of travel and having airline foods, and so I sleep in a comfy bed, and wake up to REAL food! The conference facilities were really nice and what stood out was they refreshed the water after every break! Offered still water (non carbonated) and carbonated water for each pair of attendees in glass bottles. All side drinks were in glass bottles as well. The conference provided lunch was a nice selection of sandwiches, quiches, and salads, with finger sized eclairs - really nice. First impressions very important. After check in, the very nice and personable front desk worker escorted me to my room, showed me all the features, and explained some of the hotel amenities along the way, gave me a contact number and wished me a nice stay. A nice personalized tough I thought. Check out was efficient with no wait. Housekeeping A+ with workers who made sure to greet you when you ran into them in the hallways. I did not get to explore the area much, but it is located on Avenue Louise with a lot of higher end shops. But by walking just a block or so, there quite a mixture of other places, smaller stores, grocery stores, mini pharmacies, etc. But it is a bit away from the city center. We came back from dinner to find it open...when I let the front desk know, they asked if anything was missing and if we wanted them to look at surveillance cameras, we said nothing was missing but we did want them to check cameras, they never followed up. It took 20 minutes to get a cocktail at the Louis bar and quite frankly, it feels like no one wants to be there. The breakfast buffet - ok, for 40 dollars, I feel like it should have been more unique. It had all the basics, but nothing over the top and if it's not included in your stay, I'd opt out. The bar - its 20 dollar drinks... and a 30 dollar club sandwich... will leave it at that The room - huge, but outdated and the beds were terrible. The outlet was on the verge of falling off the wall and the shower has no light. The pool - is 35 euros a person, they bait you into thinking the pool is their property but it's actually part of an independent spa. It's just too expensive for what you get.

It's definitely not walking distance at all because you have to get on the freeway and take a few exits to get here. Just be mentally prepared to have to order a taxi or Uber in. Shuttles are also not complimentary like other hotels in the area but rather 5 euros per person. Lastly, it's great that the room comes with complimentary stuff in the mini Friday (water and soda), but the beds are subpar and standard. Two twin beds put together as a "superior double bed". If anything, the customer service is the one thing that makes me annoyed the most about.

Large size bathroom with a large sink was convenient for our personal items. The closet was pretty large with a sliding door. No iron in the room, instead I had to go down to the 6th floor to iron my husband's shirt. The bed was somewhat comfortable but was able to fall asleep for a few hours after the shower incident. When my husband took a shower he did not encounter any issues. However, when I walked into the shower room, I must have turned the water control the wrong way that the handle broke. It wasn't like anything I've used in the US. Tried fixing but didn't work. When I called the front desk, someone came up right away and tried to troubleshoot it. By this time the water kept pouring out of the shower and it was past 11pm & he couldn't fix it. A lady came in 10 mins later & couldn't fix it either so they turned off the water in the bathroom. Knowing this can't be fixed sooner, they made arrangements for us to use another shower about 3 rooms down from ours. We had to be up by 6 am for an early flight & it was a bit inconvenient for this to happen but they accommodated our needs. Full complimentary breakfast was served in the dining hall & we had several items to choose from: small pancakes, hot food like eggs, sausage, etc, chocolate croissants, toast, bagels, fruits like apple, oranges & bananas, etc. even mini jars of ketchup & jams were available. Overall, it was a good luxury hotel to be in. The staff is friendly & very professional.
