They let someone else check into my room without my consent just because the person knew my name(super illegal btw) then the lady laughed joking about how she thought he was my husband and even admitted she could give me a key to the room because I could show my ID showing it was my room(other person was not on the room and therefore don't understand how they were allowed to check in to my room). Then my friend paid for another room to which the same lady gave this person at 4am our room number. The majority of the reviews say it all. "Shell" building built over an old super 8 basically. Add a few nicer touches to the lobby and modernized a small amount and blam now its the Ramada. The problem with the shell, is if a door closes it echoes incredibly, you hear everything. Check in was easy and check out was pleasant. Other than that, its a bed and a shower. Breakfast was one choice of cereal, some pancakes or waffles, juice/coffee machine, muffins, or oatmeal. If you want to have a decent hotel to feel like youre not getting robbed on your money the Radisson is next door. I will definitely stop there on my ride back. read more

The worst hotel I ever stayed in. The room had this odd order. Not sure what it was. The tv was useless because the ant wire was pulled out of jack and stripped. The water pressure was so low the shower was useless. All the furniture looked like it came from a rummage sale and badly scratched. Lampshades ripped Then breakfast is joke. For a Ramada it leaves a little to be desired. Ramada is supposed to be a higher echelon brand in the Wyndham Family. This one is a little shabby - I've stayed in nicer Super 8's which is a level lower in their family. Room was clean and mostly comfortable but the recliner chair was about three reclines away from falling apart =) My biggest gripe was with the water pressure (or complete lack thereof). Shower and sink were just drizzling water. Come on, folks! You're 1 mile away from the Mississippi River. Water conservation isn't an issue here. Service was friendly and noise level was fine. This place just needs a little makeover - and a new water tank. read more

Stayed one night here, on the way to Houston, TX. Found it on hotels.com. Picked this spot cause of the decent ratings, what looked to be easy access because they're next to I-40, and affordable. Since this hotel was simply just a place to rest our heads for the night, it worked. The toilet in our room - 134 - was very loose and very low to the ground. Definitely needs to be fixed for ease of comfort and safety. The beds? No Tempur Pedic, but hey it worked. The front desk gal, Carrol, was very nice. Went and hunted down a pair of earplugs. Unfortunately they came with a nose plug for swimming, and cost $2.17. Cheap as heck, but I guess they did a half ass job. Continental breakfast does include biscuits and sausage gravy and scrambled eggs for protein. read more

Ok. So I understand that this is a recent remodel but it was so clearly a former ultra low dollar dwelling. The window units were removed and put up on the wall with a remote on the nightstand, the wallpaper was peeling in our room, there was hair from the last occupant in the bathtub, the security latch was falling off and we had to rescrew it ourselves, the lampshade was dented in and our room seemed like something out of a dark comedy once we got settled. The closed pool has a cover that is only partially covering the pool and reveals a green grossness I don't even want to consider the bacteria level of. That being said, the free breakfast in the morning was very helpful, the price was relatively low (although high in my opinion for the accommodations) and the staff couldn't have been more delightful and helpful. Upon checkin, the woman manning the counter was especially accommodating for our family with two small children, one of whom has special needs. I was grateful for her kindness & the extra star is for her alone. read more

Biggest complaint is that there is nothing within walking distance. If you have a car then it's a perfect location. 15 minutes from downtown Memphis. Across the street (more of a highway) from a Casino. Really awesome hotel experience! read more

Upon check in, the desk staff was very pleasant. Unfortunately, in the rooms the trash cans were placed in sporadic areas without any bags in them and the toilet roll tissue was practically finished. What was most disturbing was the toilet water, sink water, and shower water was very murky. When asked about the water, a staff member that it is normal and should improve. For the remainder 1.5 days, the running water did not improve but actually got worse in color. read more

You get what you pay for. Cheap rates for horrible costumer service. Called ahead to ask how I could book a room at 2 am with out being charge for two nights. The lady at the front desk said to just come in and she could fix that ounce I got to the hotel. I get there she said she couldn't honor the web rate and I would have to pay more. I told her I would just go ahead and book online. Ounce I got to the payment section I asked if she would still modify my reservation because I was only going to stay until the check out time 11am same day. She said no I can't do any changes. We stayed at this Ramada in West Memphis last night. Previous reviews were correct that it looks like a modern, newer hotel, but after checking in, one learns that they built a "shell" around the outside room entrances so you stay indoors going to the lobby, etc. The hotel was clean and well kept. It's old, has many miles on it, but Ramada did a good job saving it and offering a decent room for the money. That being said, the REAL reason to choose this hotel is the dining room hostess, Mary. She is the "Hostess of West Memphis". Smiling Mary has worked at this hotel for 27 years and let me tell you, this is her dining room, it is her breakfast being served, and you are her guests. It's almost like being with family! She is warm, welcoming, caring and takes obvious pride in everything. Do you like biscuits and gravy? Mary's homemade specialty....the gravy AND the biscuits, are served with pride and we loved it all. This morning's counter lady is warm and caring as well. I watched as she went to the trouble of printing out a map and highlighting a route for a gentleman leaving the hotel after breakfast and making it all up while he enjoyed his breakfast. Bottom line, when looking for a room for overnight, after a long day on the road, we all want a good bed, a clean room and friendly faces. We had it all at this hotel. read more

Because our booking agent wanted to save $15 / night on a hotel, I'm stuck in this dump for three days. What sucks about this place? Old facility. Not that clean. Updated decor. Wanted to set by the pool and enjoy the fresh air after being in the car all day. The doors were locked. We asked to please unlock the gate so we could set outside. The answer was no. So we sat on some large boulders in the parking lot and laughed. Ridiculous. Not the best for customer satisfaction. I stayed here during my trip to Memphis for the Beale Street Blues Festival. Luckily, my friend had a car and drove us across state lines everyday. This place is relatively cheap (~85 per night for 2 double beds), clean, no extra amenities like fridge or microwave, but internet in the lobby as well as wifi, breakfast includes some of the better biscuits & gravy I've ever had, small workout room with three cardio machines once you're done with breakfast, pool if it's not pouring rain, close to the freeway, but we were at the back of the building and heard no traffic noise whatsoever. No stores or anything nearby - one restaurant, a couple convenient stores, casino across the freeway if you're so inclined. Served it's purpose. read more

When I checked in, I was given Room 237 - and "The Shining" fan I am, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. But Tony's here to tell you this place is okay. We made it through the craziness that is I-40W a bit after dusk. The Ramada is paired up with another hotel so it was a slight hunt to find the lobby but a minute or so later there it was. A quick check-in to our room, which had a fridge, and we had a pretty good rest starting almost immediately afterwards. The breakfast was about as big of a spread as you get in chain hotels, so there's something for everyone. Though the cereal labeled "Special K" was actually Corn Flakes, so if that's going to ruin your trip best to just tell you now. I coped. In any case this was about as cheap as it got for a breakfast-serving place in the Memphis area, and it more than served the purpose. For a budget hotel, it doesn't look bad from the outside. At first glance when you check in the lobby looks nice and bright. When you go your room and take the stairs to the second floor, the hallways, stairs and elevator do not look clean and fresh. The front desk manager told me there was no working "Ice Machine" in the hotel. There is no working "Ice Machine" in the entire hotel. The room pictures shown on the hotel website depicts the room and furniture, (maybe 3 or more years ago). My wife and I stayed in room number 2020 and the had to wipe down everything. All the furniture surfaces were so dusty and unclean. The wood furniture was so scratched and beat up. the bathroom was extremely small. The tub caulk was about an inch thick and sloppily installed and showed light mold around the tub. Even the toilet seat was old, discolored and improperly installed where the seat doesn't stay up on its own! It appears as if the hotel ownership and management doesn't care much what goes on at this hotel and housekeeping cleans as little as possible. On the bright side, the bed slept well, the hotel was quiet and the waffle machine made great waffles and the location was great. There were other hotels within that price range that I wish I would have selected instead of this one. I would not stay at this hotel again. read more

I was in the process of moving to Houston, so my parents and I stopped here to rest for the night. The idea was to take showers and sleep but that was derailed because our shower had no hot water. I called the front desk to tell them the issue so they came to "fix" it (twice) then they would leave, saying the water needed to run for a moment, long story short the water never got hot. Front desk then said she had another room so we grabbed our 101 items, lugged it to another room, only for the room to be a SMOKING room, gross, I hate the smell of cigarettes. As a place to rest our heads after 9 hours on the road, the Ramada seemed the obvious choice as it was moderately inexpensive and right off the highway. Upon entry of the hotel, it is obvious it has been updated due to the hallway built outside the rooms, keeping you inside while going from room to lobby. Key card is needed to enter the hallway which provides a sense of security. Everything seemed very clean at first glance, however, after not even an hour of my 2 children playing with their toys, the tops of their feet and their knees had turn black. Ick. I'd definitely recommend a good shampooing of the carpet. Other than that, the room provided clean sheets, average bed, fluffy pillows, a larger than usual mini fridge, good sized plasma tv, and a massaging shower head that settings can be changed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. At one point I ordered food through doordash and the front desk, knowing I was alone with the babies, stayed attentive and immediately called me when my driver arrived. Last but not least, I want to say the breakfast was above average, as y'all know some places can really butcher a free breakfast. This hotel provided a range of choices from biscuits and sausage gravy, cereal, muffins, scrambled eggs, yogurt, instant oatmeal, and the works, including the famous waffle makers. In conclusion, the only downside of our stay was the dirty carpet but other than that we'd definitely stay here again. read more

Outdoor pool closed for the season (Late September). It used to be a motel but converted to hotel because of the indoor hallway added along the side of the building and the doors/windows from the rooms opened to the hallway. Wow! What an Awesome Stay! My wife and I attended a 3 Day event in West Memphis Arkansas the week of March 1, 2017! We chose to lodge at Ramada Inn West Memphis! From the Parking lot to the hotel room, the property was clean and very well maintained! Our room was warm and clean and all electrical items were in great working order! We were so excited to have had the luxury of having a microwave and refrigerator in our room! This saved us on having to spend unnecessary money on fast food! The housekeepers were so very friendly and hospitable providing us with towels, coffee and toiletries as we needed them! The Manager and Front Desk staff Katie and the other young ladies were very professional and aided us in all of our checking in and check our needs! They even allowed us to use an area in the lobby to prepare "Goodie" bags to take to our event that we were attending! The highlight of our stay was the Friendly Smiles, Personality and Southern Hospitality we received each morning from Miss Mary who prepared the Delicious Continental Breakfast each morning! We enjoyed the Belgium Waffles, Biscuits & Gravy, Pastries, Muffins, Scrambled Eggs, Juice, Cereal and Fresh Coffee each morning! Miss Mary Greeted us each day with Smiles, Assistance and "Happy" Conversation each day! We were so excited to feel like we were at home away from home! We we're excited to be able to have the safety of having our hotel room inside the facility verses having our hotel door right on the parking lot! Overall our satisfaction with the price, location, service and hospitality receives a 10/10 from us! We look forward to staying at this hotel again real soon! Didn't have a great experience here. Staff wasn't friendly. Rooms are small and on the dirty side. Pool is teeny tiny. This is an old style outdoor access hotel that has had corridors added on, or at least I think they were an add on. The end result of that for us was that it was difficult to move luggage around. Breakfast was pretty good. I'd probably give it a 1 1/2 stars if I could. We wouldn't stay here again. read more

This is not a 5 star hotel, but the accommodations were great. I was extremely pleased with the beds...very very comfortable In addition, they were able to accommodate my request for side by side with my aging parent. Both the day and night staff here is extremely nice (especially Mary who handles the breakfast). I will definitely be recommending to my friends. The location was not far from downtown which was another plus. I did not see the negatives reviews prior to my stay, but sure glad I did not experience any of the issues listed. OK hotel. Breakfast good but not awesome. Main issue is bath room do NOT have exhaust fan. So the entire room feels/smells musty/moldy. Also, if someone goes for "#2", that ordor linger everywhere. If they do not install bathroom exhaust, entire building needs to torn down in 5 years. read more

Great way to enjoy downtown Memphis on a budget. Super convenient to quickly access places like Beale Street and the Pyramid Bass Pro without forking out the big money for a room. Clean rooms and super friendly staff. The front desk attendant was very talkative without being overly so. She seemed to relate well with the diverse guests and their varied needs. The breakfast lady was so sweet and helpful. She was very accessible for any needs that the guests had and kept everything filled and cleaned up. to make it short CRACK smell, no light in bathroom, The shower handle would not stay up and the tub for a bath water kept leaking and had to run water to keep it full. Saw a bug in the sheets I think it was a spider. No sleep kept thinking about the damm thing. I stayed here during my trip to Memphis and West. Memphis for a class reunion and personal business . The service was superb. Carol the desk clerk, attended to all my needs. She even assisted me with trying to locate my phone charger. She also offered me shelter as I was checking out during the storm. She encouraged me to stay longer and relax in the lobby until the storm subside That's going the extra mile. The breakfast was very delicious. Simple but effective.
