My wife and I took a short vacation to the Outer Banks to celebrate our 16th anniversary. I was able to find a hotel that has access to the beach. The drive was gorgeous as you get closer to your destination. The strip on S Croatian Hwy was filled with eateries, souvenirs shops, fishing station, rentals, miniature golf, go carts and a mall. As we arrived to the hotel, plenty of parking and addition parking across the street. The front lobby was modern, clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk named Angie was friendly, genuine and very helpful. She made our stay at ease, provide valid information and guide us through the hotel. This hotel has an indoor pool, a restaurant, outside seating overlooking the beach, easy access to the beach, 3 options of view: beach, sunrise and street. There are local eateries across the street and some are minutes away by car. You have multiple options for rooms: king, queen, full beds. Each room is clean, non smoking, equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, ice bucket, AC, remote tv with so many channels including movies. The hotel is pet friendly which is located on the first floor, front desk available 24/7 and all staff are professional and friendly. We will definitely stay at this hotel in the near future.

    Pet friendly zone.

This was our second visit and the hotel has Pet Friendly down to perfection. Very nice stay and will continue being our go to for when we visit the Outer Banks. The only negative was on our first night we found an uninvited guest in our room, a Cockroach. I know they are prevalent on the Outer Banks, so it wasn't a big deal, but I let the front desk know just so they are aware, but they tried saying the bug wasn't a cockroach but a Palmetto bug. Lol Palmetto bugs are cockroaches. Overall a great visit once I evicted the cockroach visitor.

The hotel was just OK, their 3 star rating feels generous. Right on the beach. The desk staff were friendly. Rooms felt a bit dated. In pictures the "indoor" pool had a ceiling and walls, but this has been removed. AC worked well. Beds were comfortable. Reminds me of what 2 star 60 a night hotels should be. For 200 a night, it leaves a bit to be desired. The restaurant and bar was closed Sunday but we did get to try the breakfast on that Saturday. Bad: Walls and hanging ceiling paint were peeling, what looked like blood on the ironing board, bathroom heat lamp didn't work, light switches and outlets appear dirty, rust on towel bar and ceiling in bathroom, items left under bed from previous customers, crack between balcony door to inside, bathroom mirror lights flicker.

Such an amazing hotel. Love its locations to everything. So close the beach. It has an indoor pool which is a bonus.

The hotel is aged. Upon entering the lobby the service desk people were very friendly. We had two rooms they didn't connect but at least the were close. Hotel is dog friendly but they didn't tell us the beach is closed for dogs from 9am to 6 pm. We were already set up on beach then packed up the dog's and went to Nags head 11 minutes away. That beach is always dog friendly! The hotel charges a daily dog fee. The room is ok smells funny, The full bath is dim if you want to read in the bath bring a light. Our toilet ran on and off during the night. There was a small gym with a couple of machines- I rode the bike. There was a small indoor pool we didn't go in it was full (10 people) No free breakfast Best part was the view (not from our room (the dune blocked it)

Awful! See google review. Moisture throughout. We brought this the attention of the staff. They were less than concerned or helpful in rectifying it. Offered a free breakfast and nothing more. No option to change rooms or even a discount. Asked for more towels. Never brought. We had to go retrieve them ourselves. They left out washcloths. Terrible musty odor. Moisture continued over the weekend and was just horrible on our last day. See pictures. Black mold was seen too. Wyndham ought to be ashamed for having suck a bad establishment in such a popular vacation destination!!

What could be better than reasonably priced, no-frills stay (over long weekend in off season) w/direct access to beach? I will say the staff was very welcoming, friendly, personable, helpful and accommodating. Our 2 queen "city view" room appeared recently remodeled and offered an in-room coffee pot, fridge, and microwave. However, we did not use coffee pot because it had obviously not been cleaned in some time. Room had a balcony, but it appears to be frequented mostly by birds. If you reserve a room w/a "dune view", beware, you most likely be looking at a wall of sand vs beach. If you have pets, there appears to be a floor dedicated to animals, with some of the rooms having direct access to beach from patio on back of building. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa is offered in lobby during set hours in mornings and evenings--I was not aware of a complimentary breakfast, although a for-cost breakfast buffet was advertised in lobby. The pool/hot tub area is in severe need of repair, which as I understand is scheduled sometime in Spring 2023. There's a sizable deck to view the ocean/sunrises without having to set foot on the beach. If you like beach combing, you can find shells (mostly smaller ones), mermaid purses (shark egg cases), whelk egg sacs, beached jellyfish, and other ocean curiosities. The hotel's location is ideal, and within reasonable driving distance to Pea Island, Bodie Lighthouse, Jeannette's Pier, Wright Brothers National Monument, NC Aquarium Roanoke, as well as other great businesses. [A word of caution: Upon entering the lobby, we were a strong, peculiar odor (similar to marijuana?) that persisted throughout our stay. Mind you, we requested non-smoking room (the room was not the issue) but the smell persisted in common areas (entryway, hallways, etc.). Not sure if employees or guests were the source, but very off-putting.]

when we were planning to go away for the weekend, we were at some of the reviews for this hotel. The reviews were mixed, but I thought we would let you know that we had a great time! While it is true, that housekeeping was a little lax, they cover the basics and we received new towels and cleaning supplies every day. Also, everyone was super friendly, and the hotel is amazing. make sure you take time to have breakfast and go to dinner at their Tiki restaurant. The food is outstanding! It is a great family, friendly atmosphere and with only a few seconds from the beach, what else really matters anyway? If you were looking for a fancy hotel where you will be treated like royalty, you need to see elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a hotel where you will be treated like family and where you will find a place to rest between walks to the beach, this hotel is excellent!

Best hotel in OBX. Tiki bar and beachside location add to the equation. Want to give a big shout out to Christie at the front desk for making my short stay a lovely experience. She made a difficult situation so much easier with her natural sense of hospitality and genuine kindness.

Pet-friendly hotel! We stayed for 3 nights in mid-July 2019 (mid-90s and humid!!) and brought our dog for an additional pet fee of $35/night plus tax. The overall stay was very good, and here are some highlights: 1. Fast & quick check-in with two members of staff available. No self-checkin option. 2. Literally on the beach, can't beat the location. We had a beach-facing room, but because all the pet-friendly rooms were on the first floor and below grade, our view was weed- and brush-filled hill of sand. 3. The room was spacious and comfortable. Limited channels on TV, but not something we needed. There's a door to the patio, but you can't lock it from the outside. There was a convenient side exit to access the beach. 4. There's enough dining and bars all along the two main roads and if you have a car you can practically get anywhere fast. Traffic wasn't an issue; heat was! We accidentally left our Chromecast device plugged in the TV. The front desk manager (a woman whose name i didn't catch) was unhelpful with locating the device and ensuring follow-through and insinuated that I was making it up, but the housekeeping manager Michael later called me having found it and was extremely helpful and arranged to ship it back to us. What a contrast in personnel! Bottom line, I would return to this hotel.

The beach, steps away from the hotel! Love it!!
    Sarah S.

Very impressed with my stay here from start to finish. We luckily had no trouble finding parking, and we were given a window hanger to indicate we were patrons of the hotel so I really appreciate that parking is regulated for guests. The pool was not over packed and the hot tub was amazing. The walk out to the beach was easy breezy. Incredibly beautiful day for us. There is a cute tye dye place directly across the street, so that was convenient. Everything is in such a short drive, or even a quick walk. Including a bar!! The staff have been extreamly friendly. My husband can be hard to please lol but he actually commented on how nice the staff was so that's really saying something! We will be back for sure!!

    Carly S.

I stayed here while attending an out of town wedding and it was disappointing how dirty it was in my room. The floors were sticky and had orange stains all over which told me immediately that either the staff doesn't clean the room or they just don't care enough to thoroughly clean. Also, the lamps had unknown spots all over them along with the desk in the room. For how much I paid for three nights, I would expect the room to at least be clean. I reached out twice to try to get answers on this and have yet to hear back and this was two weeks ago. Hoping something improves as I was highly disappointed and will not be staying at another Ramada any time soon due to this experience!

    Hope you like spider webs!
    L B.

Very disappointing! Poorly maintained hotel - spider webs, rust, dust! Our room has a "dunes view" - but it should have never been advertised as having any view as the view is obstructed! It is a shame! The door to the balcony is not glass, it is a solid door! I don't think I have ever seen this at another hotel! Do not waste your money on this hotel, go elsewhere! Also, I guess checking the alarm clock is not part of the maintenance of the room because it was left to wake us up at 6 am!

Great location too! A couple things worth mentioning though. Our room was very damp. And not just a little humid (we lived in FL for 15 years so we understand humidity), but like our clothes felt wet when we put them on and paper gift bags were soft. We actually turned off the air and opened the slider to air the room out a couple times. If I had to take a stab in the dark, there's likely a serious mold issue behind the walls. There was mold growing on the AC unit. Another thing about the area in general (not just the hotel)...flies. Be prepared to have them tag along with you EVERYWHERE. They were in every restaurant we went to, by the pool, at the beach, in the gym, in every store. It was the most bizarre thing. Just everywhere. Also, I didn't realize how dog friendly this hotel was. We have two dogs and love them, but our room clearly had a dog in it previously with signs of hair on the AC unit and in the carpet. I wish we'd have brought our own pillows as the ones in our room were down pillows and even with 2 of them, they still fall flat. Overall, the location, price, service, and amenities were totally fine but those things like the room being super damp, the flies, and pet hair were just little nuisances that I think people should be aware of.

It was beautiful and very relaxing. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were warm, which we really enjoyed. The only downside was that there were hardly any towels available at the outdoor pool. We booked the last available room for the day and were pleasantly surprised with complimentary breakfast vouchers. Unfortunately, after using the vouchers, I checked my account the next day and noticed I had still been charged for breakfast, which was disappointing. The room itself was comfortable. The pillows were soft, the blankets were warm, and we slept well. However, there was one large bug flying around the room, and I have no idea where it came from, which was definitely unpleasant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the pools, beach view, and comfortable room, but a few issues--especially the breakfast charge and the bug in the room--kept it from being a perfect experience.

First, some of the issues I have: The room layout puts one bed very close to the air conditioner and because they have the old-fashioned hotel style AC units, that leaves at least one person getting directly blasted with cold air all night. Using pool towel clips to put a towel over one side of the vent did help but reduced the efficacy of the AC and made the room warmer for everyone else. Breakfast is nice (and free) but the setup of it seems to be done as if this is a business hotel and not a beach front hotel. The cereal choices were all boring adult cereals, the bread for toast was VERY whole grain (as in it had pieces of grains in it), and the only milk they had was white milk (for example). Adding a small amount of more kid-friendly breakfast elements would go a long way. The outdoor pool is sheltered from the wind by the sand bank and gets really hot in the sun, a lightweight shade over the whole (or part of) the deck would probably be a welcomed addition by most people. As for what's great about this place: The location includes a beachfront pool + small snack shack with beach access which is directly across the road from the hotel itself. This gives the best of both worlds with beachfront access as well as having better parking and more room on the hotel property. On non-weekends the price is super affordable for a beachfront Marriott property. Not to mention the only Marriott property on the Outer Banks. It's very close to great food options, many walkable. Stuff for both adults and kids is easy to access. It's also not far to many interesting sightseeing or cultural things to see. All-in-all, I would love to see some minor changes but even with some flaws this is definitely a 5 star option.

Of course the ice machine is out of order. I was awakened to construction men right outside my balcony repairing the patio of the restaurant. There are signs directing you to the elevator and then you get there it says staff only. The best part was the bistro, but even then the construction men were right on the other side of the wall from my table tearing apart the outside wall. I paid nearly double for a room "on a higher level" and got the second floor out of five. Just another typical tourist trap.

We originally had a suite the week before but decided to cancel because of Tropical Storm Isiais. The traffic noise wasn't as bad as you'd think. The only noise we'd hear were the footsteps above us every now and again. Nothing from the neighbors to our left or right. The sun shown into the room for 7-8 hours until sunset so that was a bit annoying but not the hotel's fault. Due to COVID-19, there was no housekeeping so you're on your own for trash and to go to the front desk for linens. The only true annoying aspect of this is the sand we brought in each day. It got to the point in which our feet got really dirty each night just walking around the room. Again not the hotel's fault, just a circumstance we couldn't escape. Room amenities included the double beds that were very comfortable. To round out the room we had a TV, dresser drawer, microwave, mini fridge, desk with chair, additional chair, safe, and a place to hang a few shirts. The water pressure in the shower was great and the bathroom big enough. The hotel isn't far from the beach at all. A short stroll on the boardwalk and then over the dunes and you're there. 30 seconds maximum. I felt safe enough from a COVID aspect. No one really in your face or obnoxious. I didn't go into the lobby for anything nor did I use the pool so I can't speak to that. It would've been great to have had that suite we originally had because we needed the space with the kids but that's on us. Oh well!

The shower being clogged and stained bedding as well as the loud AC unit. But the shower drain was fixed, albeit the person who fixed it left dirt from their shoes in the bottom of the shower. Breakfast was surprisingly good for Days Inn standards, I wasn't expecting a complimentary hot breakfast. The beach access and the views are unbeatable! That was the saving grace for me. You're literally steps away from the beach. And catching the sunsets and the stars at night while listening to the waves it felt like a dream.

Stayed here for a few days because I needed a last-minute hotel and almost everything else in the…read morearea was booked. The price was around $200 a night, so I certainly wasn't expecting anything luxurious. Unfortunately, even with pretty low expectations, the stay was disappointing. When I arrived, there was no shampoo or soap in the room. I then noticed a cockroach crawling up the curtains, which I took a photo of. I also found multiple different types of hair around the room, which made it seem like the room had not been thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. The following day, I called around 1 p.m. and asked if housekeeping could clean the room. I was told that 1 p.m. was already "too late" to request cleaning, which I found pretty ridiculous. After some back and forth, they said they would make an exception and send someone. Nobody ever showed up to clean the room. The toilet also didn't flush properly, which I documented as well. I can overlook an older property, basic rooms, and limited amenities when the price reflects that. What I can't overlook are basic cleanliness issues, a cockroach in the room, plumbing that doesn't work properly, and housekeeping saying they'll come and then never showing up. There are definitely better options in the Outer Banks. I wouldn't stay here again.

Let me start by saying: Location, location, location!!! You…read morewon't get any closer or convenient for the price in the area. Next, they allow pets! There's nothing better than spending the day at the beach with your fur baby. Finally, some rooms you enter from inside hotel and others you enter from the parking lot like a motel. I've stayed in both types of rooms here and they're all about the same. No, there is no longer a continental breakfast served in the lobby area but there are so many restaurants nearby and there is a microwave & mini fridge in every room. Yes, housekeeping is the bare minimum here but every business in the service industry has changed (most for the worse) since the pandemic. Do you really need someone to make or turn down your bed for you daily while you're on vacation?!? Do you really need fresh towels every single day? I've been coming to this same hotel for years and truly the only difference I see now compared to the past is the long term residents. I did not have any issues with them and I was given a room in that designated section.

And also, right down the street from Cook Out (which I love), a Brewery, and a short walk away from a Pizza and Ice Cream Place. The Oceanfront Gazebo was really nice, the beach wasn't crowded, and the pool was also nice! I appreciate the updates they have done to the place overall. My BF who loves free hotel breakfast, was disappointed that their breakfast spread didn't including hot foods like; eggs and bacon or sausage. The closest thing they had was a prepackaged breakfast sandwich you heat up in the microwave, which in his words "isn't the same". However, they did also have a waffle maker. Sidenote: I do wish there was a vending machine in the four seasons building. Complaints/Suggestions: The shower in our room only had a fixed glass wall, that only covered half of the entrance to the shower. (No tub) Which, I mean it's not my house, not my flooring lol but that caused a lot of water to splash out and get into the main bathroom floor. Which is just a poor design choice by someone; in my opinion they need something to completely block the water from getting out while you shower. Next, our balcony light didn't really work. Just flickered a lot. In addition to lighting issues and it only really happened 1 or 2 nights during our stay. But the main room light & fan is controlled by a remote thing attached to the wall. After turning off the light one night, while lying in bed, it turned itself back on. Then would flicker or like turn on and off a few times in a row. Not a big deal, but annoying lol This went on for about 5 to 10 minutes before we turned off the 'main switch' on the remote and that main switch turns off the light and the fan. Lastly, I do think the hotel was pretty clean and our room was clean. However, our last night we did see a roach on the ceiling. We ended up losing track of it while trying to get it outside. But then during a 2am bathroom break my BF saw either the same one or a different one on the bathroom floor. Again, we didn't see any all week, just the last night soooo Idk how to judge that. The roach brings me to 3 stars but without it, it would be 4 stars.
