Came here on a weekday at night and didn't have to wait too long. We got the seared ahi tuna, spinach and artichoke dip, smoked gouda burger, and cajun pasta. The ahi tuna wasn't the best. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. Didn't really like the tomatoes as it made the dip runny and hinder the taste from the star ingredients of the dish. The smoked gouda burger was the best. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. I've been here multiple times over the last couple years. I recently put them back on rotation so let me leave a review. I have had a few dishes: Chicken Marsala - very tasty. Came with a creamy mushroom sauce which surprised me but it was very tasty. Lots of mushrooms on top of the moist thin chicken breast. Side items of sautéed veggies (squash zuchini, red & green peppers) were well seasoned with salt and pepper. The collard greens, which I always get, come with a lot of juice (potlikker) so you can ask for it drained if you like (you'll still have juice, just much less) The daddy's meatloaf which is a very hearty dish is also a good option. To me it is definitely an item you will have leftovers to take home. Also, the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, with choice of white or dirty rice, is a winner. Drinks are solid. If you drink whiskey this is the place to order those drinks. They have great happy hour food & drink menus so definitely check them out M-F, 3-6pm to see the specials. Service is good with multiple personnel checking to see if we are ok. I'm going to call the atmosphere "homey, elevated sporty", especially if you sit in the bar area. The staff is attentive ensuring you enjoy both cocktails and your meal. My favorite area of the restaurant is the high top tables in the bar space. Unfortunately, there are only three. One of my favorite dishes is the meatloaf with dirty rice and collard greens. The meatloaf is a hefty portion with a solid four star rating. Came here for one of my many outings during the week. This place has been on my list for quite some time, just happened to have a friend suggest we go for lunch. We were seated immediately and our server took his time, explained the menu and also the specials. We were also informed about the dishes that would be around for a limited time. Seared ahi tuna came with a big salad in the middle that wasn't the best pairing, had too much feta cheese and vinaigrette for my preference, but the tuna is seared nicely. Spinach and artichoke dip is not bad as well. Wish the spinach had more sauce to stick them together, some scoops were a little too runny. Great flavor though with the chips. The smoked gouda burger was probably the best imo, lots of meat flavor in the beef and bacon that is contrasted with a nice brioche bun and thin fresh lettuce. The prices for Happy Hour are extremely reasonable, making it easy to try a few different things without breaking the bank. Food The food was the real star. I ordered the Cajun-inspired pasta loaded with crawfish tails and sausage in a creamy, flavorful sauce--absolutely delicious. My uncle went with the fish topped with crawfish cream sauce, and it was rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. Both dishes had that perfect balance of Cajun comfort and elevated flavor. The bread served alongside was fresh and herbed just right. We also sampled from their appetizer menu, and everything was spot-on. The seasoning, the freshness, and the portions made it feel like we were getting a great value for the price. Today we visited a restaurant close to our home, and it truly is a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff was amazing--very welcoming, caring, and full of kindness. We sat at the bar and started with appetizers. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious and paired perfectly with freshly made kettle chips. We also had the wedge Caesar salad, which was equally delicious. James was our waiter, along with a wonderful young lady whose name I unfortunately didn't catch. Both provided excellent service. Our entrées were full of flavor--I had the Cajun chicken, and he had the Gulf shrimp and grits. The drinks were well prepared and very tasty. For dessert, James suggested we try their bread pudding, saying it was the best--and he wasn't lying! It was complimentary and absolutely delicious. Seen the photos on the app and got excited had to try it looked delicious, upon arrival I noticed the parking lot was very full, walked in and it had a nice quiet feel to it small with a large bar. The bar was full however the tables were not. I ordered the center cut pork and we ordered a few other items and 2 of the 4 items my wife and friends said were delicious, however my pork was dry, I know pork is difficult to get right so the gravy helped. I love how close this place is to my house, and our waitress was wonderful! The service was great. The hatch queso blanco had great potential, but the vegetables overpowered the dipping aspect. Unfortunately, our chips were burnt to the point that we couldn't actually taste the queso. However, our waitress promptly swapped them out, and it improved. My husband and I shared the creamy wine sauce chicken dish (I can't remember the actual name), and it was just okay. There were too many capers. Also, plenty of parking! I really liked the ambiance - casual enough for family dinner on a weeknight, but also nice enough for a date night on a Saturday. I ordered the smoked gouda BLT and my date had the fettuccini alfredo. Mine was delicious (I've been thinking about it since!) and my date enjoyed his. Our favorite part though was the bread pudding. Really enjoyed both visits to Ramble creek. I'm new to Texas and this spot was near my cousins house and had good reviews. First visit I had the shrimp n grits and my wife had the shrimp etouffe. We also had 3 appetizers including the bacon wrapped steak bites, coconut shrimp and the queso dip. All were good. We both had our own minosa flights and they were great and we really enjoyed our meals. Next trip back we brought the kids. I went with the shrimp n grits again and the kids both had chicken fettuccini Alfredo and loved it. Wife had the Gulf shrimp creole and gumbo. The greens were really good too.I also grabbed the upgraded old fashioned with whistle pig and it was one of the best old fashioned's I've ever had. Lately, my family and I have been on a burger kick. Let me preface this by stating that my lil bro found Ramble Creek Grill via UberEats, since they had a BOGO burger deal. So, we had to give them a try. We ordered their Rambler Burger and Butterscotch bread pudding. The Rambler burger was huge. It's a half pound burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and caramelized onions inside a pretzel bun. The beef patty had a lovely chargrilled flavor and it was cooked medium rare to medium. The bun was soft, but it could've been buttered and toasted more to stand up to the burger contents. Since this was an Ubereats order, we forgot to ask the first time to have the veggies packed separately to prevent them from getting soggy. The second time was better. The burger came with a generous helping of French fries, although the fries were just ok. The burger also came with two sauces: one was a thousand island type sauce, and the other was a mustard type sauce. Both were good, although I could dip my fries into the thousand island sauce more often because it tasted less heavy than the mustard sauce. It's weird because I don't even like thousand island dressing. Even at their regular price, I'd purchase this burger again because they give you so much food. I think next time I'll have to share this burger instead of eating it all myself (which I did anyway and regretted it. Hahaha). On our second try of RCG, we also ordered their butterscotch bread pudding. The butterscotch sauce wasn't prominent. But, the bread pudding itself was bomb! It was buttery with warm cinnamon notes. I felt like I was eating Christmas in my mouth. The bread pudding texture was nice as well. Overall, I'd definitely recommend RCG for their rambler burger and bread pudding. We have been loyal to this place for years. Lately stopped going as much because we felt like the food quality had declined and price was too much. Tonight we ordered for delivery and we were so disappointed. The onion rings were burnt (we get these every time we eat in) and the burger we ordered was Swiss mushroom and there weren't any mushrooms on it. The cheese wasn't melted but was a congealed square. The side of fries was easily 1/3 of the amount that usually comes compared to when we eat in the restaurant. The only solid item was the side salad telling me the problem is the cooks!
