We wanted to eat ramen since my boyfriend was craving it and we had some chores to do around Alameda. There was a few tables but relatively empty at around noon on a Saturday. I really wish I liked this spot but the whole experience was pretty mid. The service was great - the hostess/server was attentive and sweet. It looked like there were only two people working (one person in the back cooking and one person in the front of house). The atmosphere itself is kind of basic looking and quiet. As for the food (the most important part), it was pretty disappointing and didn't really taste authentic to me. 1/5 - Renkon Mentai Ae - this was a hard eat for me, but I feel like it can be better if they torched the mayo. 5/5 - Green Tea - the hot roasted green tea was so good that I had to ask them where they purchased their tea! 2/5 - Miso Ramen - the broth didn't really taste like your typical miso ramen (it tasted kind of weird), the toppings were a bit strange to me (e.g., chopped cabbage, big chunks of scallions), the egg was overcooked, BUT the ramen noodles itself were pretty tasty and slightly el dente. Overall, it's definitely cheaper than some ramen spots around the area, but would no be my go-to. read more

This location is just okay. The ramen itself is not bad, but not spectacular. 3.5/5 on flavor, good overall portion size. I got the Yuzu Ramen, which was unexpectedly spicy. I attribute Yuzu to the fruit and the broth definitely had that flavor, but it was also spicy. The description mentions Yuzu pepper, which I'm unfamiliar with. The menu didn't explicitly mark it as spicy, hence my surprise. Luckily it was mild and I still liked it, it was different from your typical ramen flavor profile. We also got the mentaiko potatoes, which were okay. I feel like the potatoes were just slightly underdone. I also expected a bit more to them - it was mainly just crispy potatoes with an aioli. Mentaiko should have had some kind of roe, whether flavored or actual roe. The restaurant ambiance and service left much to be desired unfortunately. The restaurant smells very strongly of cleaner, you get a gust of it in the face when you first walk in. Not very appetizing... The state of the interior details is in need of updating. Some broken ceiling panels, supplies just out in the open, etc. Service was okay, we had to flag the waiter down to order and when we needed things. Generously rounding up from 2.5 to 3 stars. The young man offered me a table and gave me a menu. I asked for iced tea. He offered me a bottle of green tea and a tall cup of ice. Okay, that's fine. It's 11:45am, and I'm the only customer there. I ordered: Cha-Shu (pork belly), Chicken Wings, and Hiroshi Tonkotsu. In general, the food is good. The presentation is nice and thoughtful. The Cha-Shu was tender and juicy. The Hiroshi Tonkotsu was loaded with noodles. The broth was a little salty. The Chicken Wings were okay, I guess. That's because it took nearly 30-mins to serve them. And that's the issue I had with this restaurant.....service time. I've been to several ramen and noodle places recently, and nobody takes 25 mins to serve a bowl of ramen. Just okay! We were craving ramen during the rainy days last week, and we went here to try it out. We got there before they opened at 11:30 am. The Hiroshi ramen helped with our cravings. Service was good since we were the only ones there. The place had an odd smell that we couldn't figure out what. Not sure if it was the air since it just opened. One person sitting at a table waiting for a take out order and a family of four at another table. There were stacks of boxes in the corner at the back of the restaurant. Really not good. I'm sorry I love to support local business but it was my first and last time here. Key indicator should have been the moldy drywall smell when you walk in. Service was poor (maybe an off night?) but one server in there and only our party of 6 and he struggled to get drinks out in a timely manner. Ramen Hiroshi is a little place located on Park St. I was able to easily find parking in the neighborhood around noon on a Sunday. I walked in and was greeted right away and was told to sit wherever I liked. I came here with my little brother so of course I had to get some little appetizers for him. I ordered the chicken karaage, deep fried gyoza, and salt and pepper wings for him. The karaage and gyoza came out first. The karaage was a bit plain but the sauce made up for it. My little brother said he liked the sauce because the flavoring wasn't too strong for him. I enjoyed the gyoza, that thang was hot throughout my meal. The chicken wings didn't come out until the end. I think I'm a bit disappointed in the portion sizes for both the karaage and wings, I was expecting a bit more. The food is good. Broth is tasty and not overly salty like some other ramen restaurants. If you order takeout, they separate the noodles from the broth to prevent ingredients from getting soggy. So the food is not the problem. The problem is the dine-in experience. The dining area is always very muggy feeling. I know there's a kitchen there and steam coming off of cooking broth must create a lot of humidity. But I think it's more of a ventilation problem. Other ramen restaurants, even ones with smaller dining areas, seem to deal with it well. This aspect of this restaurant can be improved. Bathrooms are kind of dirty. Service is fine. Not bad. We ordered the Chicken Miso Ramen to-go. The containers they pack them in came in handy. I feel like it could use just a tad more batter but it's tasty. And it comes with a dipping mayo thank goodness! I've to some places where there isn't any and it's just a dry fried chicken...not a fan of "no mayo." So this place gets an a-ok from me for karaage. As for the ramen itself, it's fine. The bro and sis-in-law discovered this new gem and of course, I had to try it! Took the BFF here for our usual dinner bonding date. There's no reservations and so we came early (definitely recommended especially for a Friday!). The place is small but they do have outside sitting... the BFF and I opted for inside. I was so excited to see that they had KYOTO MATCHA IPA but at that time (Sept) they didn't have their liquor license yet so will definitely hope that the next time around, they'll have it then. The BFF had Yuzu Ramen and I opted to get their HIROSHI TONKOTSU RAMEN. My ramen was very tasty, not salty, just the right mixture and it was just delicious. The BFF loved hers as well, she said it's close to what she had in Japan. So it's laundry, and dinning near by day again. I was craving for ramen so I ended up here instead of Wild Ginger next door. The places was pretty empty when I got there, or maybe I was the first one. Love the cozy and cleanliness that they have inside. I started out with the chicken karaage. At first I really like how thin their coating, and how moist their inside were, but they could use some salt on this one. The mayonnaise was a no. Then I had a Hiroshi Tonkatsu ramen, hm I really like the chewy/aldente texture in their noodle. Love the sweet tasting bamboo too. The hard boil egg was a no. The porkbelly slice have a nice grill, but it was too fatty, not enough bite into the meat. At first I didn't think much of the broth, but the more I sip it, the more overwhelmingly oily, and fatty it was to me. The broth has enough salt, but all I could tasted was the fattiness/oiliness. May be I should of went with the miso ramen option, that's usually the safest choice interm of broth flavor. The Ingredients of the food were good, service was great. It was a beautiful day and we were in the mood for a bowl of ramen. We called our friend to join us and we met at the restaurant. While we were waiting for our friend to arrive, we noticed that the parklet was shared by two other restaurants. Sushi & More on the right and Wild Ginger to the left. We asked and our server said that we could order dishes from the other restaurants as well. Today, we tried Sushi & More. Next time, it'll be Wild Ginger with their Hand-Pulled Noodles. We've been to Ramen Hiroshi in Walnut Creek and San Ramon. I think that this visit was comparable to the one in Walnut Creek. The service was superb. The soups base for my Hiroshi Tonkatsu and her Miso Ramen were spot on. Great temperature and filling. The noodles had a nice bite and texture. Our friend had the TanTanMen and liked it although it looked like it could have used more broth. She did comment that it had a nice spiciness to it though. We also got a simple appetizer of pickled cucumbers with lotus root slices. Those were interesting but not really my cup of tea. For ramen and other appetizers, we will definitely be back! read more

I've eaten here twice, a year apart. The first time, I found the broth very salty. I chalked it up to an off night for them. Then last month, I went here again with a buddy. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was even saltier than before. I decided to eat only the noodles and toppings. I don't know why they always make it so salty.
