Udon and Tonkatsu Ramen
Christine L.

This is strictly a review for the ramen and udon! Tonkotsu ramen was pretty good! I'm not 100% sure if it's authentic tonkotsu, but all things considered it hit the spot on a rainy Wednesday. It was savory without being too overpoweringly salty, had two pieces of tender chashu (which is rare in this economy), and the noodles had a nice bite to it. My friend got the udon and she said it was good, although she felt the chicken was a bit bland. We got the chicken karaage as an appetizer and it was good, but the sauce definitely carried.

Still serving good quality sushi for the price. It's good enough unless one had an expensive taste for sushi and willing to pay more, but if you just need some quick and simple sushi that won't break the wallet, this is the place to go. Besides sushi they also serve good portion bento bowls.

This place has a good amount of variety. From sushi rolls to different subcategory of Japanese cuisine. Ramen, sushi, bento boxes, some poke as well. The service was straightforward and a nice vibe, it has nice decor adding to the atmosphere. I took my brother for a belated birthday gift and enjoys sushi a lot. If you like variety this can be ideal, specially with the bento boxes. Everything looked appealing and tasted very fresh. Ordered Bento box comes Miso soup Poke tower 3 sushi rolls Nearest buses are 51A, 30, and O lines.

Really enjoyed my brief "layover" at this sushi spot in Alameda. I was in town for another reason but detoured here first. Blame it on the yelp reviews! My roll and sake nigiri were delicious! Freshly made with unagi, salmon, avo and cucumber - most of my fave ingredients. Miso soup was comforting and not too salty. Rice was good too. Dining area was spacious, open and the service was pretty good. I wanted to try more off the menu so I'll definitely have to return!

Decided to try this from all the reviews I've seen on DoorDash. Ordered for pick up. Street parking only, very hard to find. Had to drive around the block 3x but finally got lucky. California roll was almost $10 which was kinda expensive, but the roll was big! Totally worth it. I had the super California roll which had unagi on top. Lion king and fried Philly roll as well. Everything was delicious. Wouldn't mind coming back. The inside was nice and clean, cute decor. There was seating outside in the front as well.

Updating my review of Sushi & More to an easy five stars. This gem of a sushi restaurant in Alameda has been exceptionally consistent in providing great food and equally great service. Whether you're dining in, or getting takeout, the food is always fresh and presented well. We've been doing takeout the last few times, but we'll have to sit down at the restaurant again one of these days. In walking by this place recently, it looks like they've made some updates to the interior, and it looks really nice. Keep up the great work, Sushi & More, we'll see you again soon!

This is my family's favorite sushi restaurant in the area. We always get the beef (rib eye) bento box. The beef is always cooked right and its never over cooked! I really appreciate that! My elderly parents really like their chicken udon. They like flavor of the broth and the chicken is cooked to their liking. You cant go wrong with their chirashi, hamachi sashimi or their salmon sashimi. Any one of them is delicious! All are served with miso soup and salad. We have also tried their baked lion king roll, baked bay scallop roll and double hamachi roll and all three are excellent choices. Majority of their stuff is served in to-go boxes. Nothing wrong with that but apparently they are very a popular spot for to-go Japanese food. It's crazy but they also serve boba drinks. The servers are all very nice and welcoming. We haven't had any bad services here and we will continue to visit!

We were very pleasantly surprised with Sushi & more. First time in, beautiful establishment with a great vibe plus our server was so friendly. The food was good, we had the jalapeño poppers which were amazing. For sushi we tried the lion king, shrimp lover, & nice. They were all good & generously sized.

Hamachi sashimi! Comes with soup and salad. Great keto option!

I come here regularly when visiting family. The Bentos are always a great option if you're feeling extra hungry otherwise the EZ bowls are filling lunch as well. The EZ Bowls are great since they come with a perfectly crispy, croquette, -like a giant hash brown chock full of potato. Good amount of salmon and beef with the teriyaki options with enough for leftovers. The double Hamachi roll was great too with large pieces of fish in the roll and on top. The inside of the restaurant is very clean as well and pretty modern since they updated recently. Parking can be tough as always on Park Street, but otherwise solid place for lunch, dinner or takeout.

Hair in Hamachi Nigiri in original packaging.

Just moved to Alameda and looking for a good sushi spot on the island. I placed an order for pickup, but when I got home saw that Hamachi Nigiri had fallen over in transport, revealing a hair in the rice. Appears to be a dog hair. Guess our new spot won't be Sushi & More!

Cute place that serves sushi and boba drinks. Fast service and quick seating on a weekend night. We ordered a caterpillar roll, golden gate roll, and salmon bento box. Bento box was great but the rolls were a little disappointing. Food breakdown - drinks- only water is offered. No complimentary tea. They do sell sake, cocktails, and boba drinks including Thai tea, milk tea, fruit teas. - salmon bento box came with 2 fillets of grilled salmon, 6 slices of California roll, 2 croquettes, 3 dumplings, and a big scoop of rice with a side of house salad. No side miso soup included. The salad was good. The salmon was nicely cooked with crispy skin. The croquettes were light and crispy. I do have beef with their sushi rolls though... -sushi rolls- decent size California roll: had lots of mixed fake crab. A small bit of avocado. But no cucumber... it throws me off. Golden gate roll: dressed up California roll topped with half salmon and half hamachi. Also no cucumber. Caterpillar roll: again, lots of fake crab meat, but the shrimp tempura is very skinny small, guess they use tiny shrimps. And, there was no unagi or cucumber. Tbh, the descriptions of the sushi rolls on the menu are correct.. it's just that I've come to expect certain things in my sushi when I order common rolls like California roll and caterpillar roll. When certain ingredients are left out, it's just not the same flavor profile or texture. Just be aware when ordering.

The fries were the perfect texture and came out fresh. We occupied majority of the space and the staff and owners welcomed us and did not rush us out (this literally happened at a neighboring boba spot in alameda- they were so rude. The Blueberry Burst Boba was fruity, refreshing, and packed with blueberry flavor without being overly sweet. The popping boba added a fun texture and made the drink feel extra enjoyable. The House Special Milk Tea was smooth and well-balanced, with a rich tea flavor that came through nicely. The boba pearls were soft and chewy, and both drinks felt freshly made. Service was friendly and efficient, and the staff kept things moving quickly even during a busy period. The vibe is clean, modern, and relaxed, making it a nice place to stop for a quick drink or hang out with friends. Overall, a great local boba shop with reliable drinks and plenty of options to choose from. I'd come back to try more of their specialty drinks next time.

Although the donburi originally caught his eye, we ended up ordering sushi instead. As someone who finally got over the texture issue of sushi, I've been eating more of it and loving it. Hayashi had such fresh fish and a wonderful plating. Is it pricey? Yes, but most sushi places are nowadays. We did spend over $100 on food but we were stuffed and enjoyed every bite. My friend made sure I tried things I'd never had before! They also gave us free scoops of ice cream at the end. The service was terrific. A lady came and took our order on an electronic pad and our food came out fairly quickly. The interior is about the same as the precious donburi restaurant that owned it but comfortable regardless. The bathroom was also clean. As always, parking directly around this area is tight unless you go later at night or you park at the parking garage by the Alameda Theatre or go on a week day after 7 pm.

Based on the reviews I decided to stop by and order a roll to satisfy my craving. Upon entry, I noticed the restaurant was fairly empty (great) and it appeared that only one employee was working at the time. The employee was pleasant he answered my questions and was quick with completing my order. My roll appeared to be made with care and I couldn't wait to dive in. To say the least my roll was A-Mazing. The ingredients tasted fresh. The roll didn't burst open as I picked it up with my chopsticks, etc. My concern is with the prices. This Japanese restaurant food items are priced really high. I paid $25 dollars for a pretty basic tempura roll. I wanted to try some other items but didn't want to leave out paying $50 for a to go meal.
