My history with Jesse Ramirez goes back a couple years. I have a 25+ year old home with spanish tile, and we had some water leakage near the peak of the vaulted area of our ceiling. I'd been given a referral to someone else (not Jesse) who came out and took a look and gave me some great advice, but I was never able to get a hold of the guy after that. Several emails and phone calls (straight to voice mail) later and I gave up and went searching for someone else. Next I gave Jesse a call. He was quick to stop by and went up on the roof to check things out. He actually pulled the tiles off a huge section of the roof, fiddled with the pipe flashing by hand, and reassembled everything. I think he was up there for about 1 to 1.5 hours on his own time. At that time, given my budget, I was hoping to get a patch job to carry me through the next few years. Jesse was going to work up an estimate and then get back to me. Although, like the first guy, I was unable to get a hold of Jesse again after that. But after the next rain, we noticed it didn't leak any more . . . then rain after rain for the next couple years there was no trace of a leak. So, it turns out that Jesse did fix my problem temporarily and that fix came free of charge. After a couple years my budget improved and it was time to again consider roof repair or replacement. I asked Jesse to come back and got estimates from him and two other roofing companies. Jesse's estimate was the middle of the three, but the amount of service and advice he gave before starting the job convinced me that Jesse was the right hire. There were problems (no fault of Jesse's) from the start . . . it rained the day they were scheduled to demo the roof (an early and unexpected September rain). So they removed the tile, but left the underlayment on to protect the house. The rain meant having to reschedule with the stucco guy who was already booked for days. We had some dryrot to fix, no surprise there because even I could see some of it from the ground, yet the repair cost ended up being a little less than I expected. Then Jesse ended up a man down on his crew, leaving just two guys to do the bulk of the work. And we had a personal need that no work be done during one weekday, which Jesse kindly worked around. The guys that delivered the tile damaged one of the new gutters so that had to be replaced. Finally, we had one more rainy day shortly before the job was done. So all in all, the job took about a full week longer than originally planned, but these guys did an amazing job. The quality of the job was more important to me than the extra time it took to get done. Jesse was constantly in communication with me as the job progressed, and he came on site pretty much every day to check the work his guys were doing and to do some of the work himself. Oh, and the new gutters are so much better and quieter when it rains, and it seems the rain started in earnest this year just a few days after the job was completed. No trace of any leaks, and the tile looks fantastic . . . functional and aesthetic. I wholeheartedly recommend Ramirez Roofing. read more

My wife and I bought a foreclose Home Path home in 2014. I noticed there was some dry rot areas on the roof and I contacted Jesse with Ramirez Roofing for a free repair estimate. I contacted them based on the reviews on Yelp. Jesse came out and walked the roof to see if I could get away with repairing it or replacing it. After the inspection he informed me that overall the roof was still in good shape I just needed to have the areas of dry rot replaced. Jesse gave me a fair price on the estimate and set out to do the work the following week. Jesse and his crew started the repairs on a Thursday morning. They started to tear down the areas of dry rot that needed to be replaced and then I received the "bad news." Turns out whoever put on the prior roof didn't shingle around the flashing for the A/C unit right and water had been getting underneath it for quite some time causing quite a bit of damage to the roof. At that time I asked myself "Do I want to pay money for repairs on a roof that has questionable history from the prior owners or pay extra money and have the roof done right and not have to worry about for another 30 years?" I ended up having Jesse tear off the old roof and put on a new one based on the fact that there were two comp roofs on already and not knowing the history of the roof. It was hard to swallow paying for a new roof but I would rather have the work done right and not have to worry about it as the years go by. This was on a Thursday and the forecast called for rain over the weekend. Jesse was able to get a tear off crew, crane operator (to move the A/C unit) and roof supplies the very next day. Jesse and his crew worked late Friday and even came out Saturday to get the work done. Luckily the weather forecast changed and said no rain. Jesse and his crew came back out on Monday and finished up the roof. A few weeks went by and I called Jesse to see if he could come back out and install a turbine roof vent so my whole house fan would operate with more efficiency. Jesse said no problem and came out a few weeks later to replace a low profile roof vent with the whirlybird turbine vent. The house fan operates so much better now. There's a noticeable change in the air flow coming in when it's on. There was also a small quarter size area of dry rot on one of the eaves. Jesse took care of that when he replaced the fan. I would highly recommend Ramirez Roofing for any roof repairs or roof replacement. The only thing I have on the "Cons" side of the list is they are a small sized crew so when they are busy they are busy. I woke up to find water leaking from my living room ceiling at 6:30 am on 2/26. It poured rain all night long and all day. I went online to find a local roofing company and found Ramirez Roofing opened at 6 am. I called and Jesse picked up and told me he could come out around noon that day. He advised me to poke a hole in the ceiling to let the after drain out and I did. Jesse called me to let me know he was on his way and he arrived around 11:30 am. The rain was pouring down but he and his crew member climbed up top to see if they could figure out where the problem was. They found excessive water in the second story rain gutter that was causing water to flow to the first floor where the leak was located and he disconnected it from the downspout. He wasn't sure that was the issue but later that night with the rain still pounding down, the leak stopped leaking. The rain has made it difficult to schedule a more thorough inspection of the roof but we are on the schedule for next week. Jesse has been a pleasure to deal with and Sherri in the office has also been very helpful with scheduling appointments. I have been impressed with the service to this point and I look forward to Jesse coming out next week to inspect the roof and estimate cost to repair. Ramirez Roofing Co., have exceeded my expectations and more. I have 1 other roofing contractor come out and inspect my roof so that I can have a direct comparison with Jesse's quote and assessments of what are needed to get my roof up to standards. 1. The quote I was given was very affordable. When I say affordable, it doesn't mean the amount of work was less than his competitors. The amount of recommended work needed to my roof was almost twice the amount if repairs than his competitor. 2. After opening up your roof, he found additional work that needed to get done. He explains the additional costs and it was understandable and I've agreed to the additional repairs. He shows you exactly what needs to get done and gives you a time line and completes the task as projected. 3. He may not answer the phone right away but he does return your phone calls and texts. This guy is good, that's why you have to wait a little to get his attention. Don't let that deter you though. He warrants his work with a 3 year warranty. As long as you agree to his recommended repairs. 4. Just give him a call already and stop reading other reviews like what I did. Don't waste your money like what I did to get another quote. Selected Ramirez Roofing because they were local and I didn't have to deal with one of the service brokers that shop a job around. To be frank, I didn't spend much time with online reviews until after the work was completed. My experience with this company couldn't be better. I can't address reviews from 2017 and 2018 but I certainly can in 2022. Either some of the old reviews were not entirely accurate or something very good has happened with Ramirez since. My call was returned very promptly, an estimate was completed when promised, and the work was started and finished on time. Contrary to some comments, Ramirez does contract for less than full re-roof jobs and they track repair jobs and re-roof jobs separately to ensure that both keep to schedule. The company does use email for estimates and invoicing so you have to watch your email and possibly check your spam file if your ISP has an overly aggressive software solution at work. Perhaps this accounts for some of the reported complaints about follow-up. Our roof is getting to the point where it will need to be replaced and you can rest assured that Ramirez Roofing will the the first, and probably last, company I will contact for what will be a very large job. 5 Stars, no regrets! read more

VERY ,,, VERY ,, DISAPPOINTED,,!!!!!. I call Ramirez Roofing to inspect my roof and put some loose tiles back . Jesse Ramirez come and did inspection, ( he give me a price and I agree, gave him OK to do job ) just to put loose tiles back and secure, he say that he will come back in 2 to 3 weeks to do the job. After three weeks I called him to see when he will come to do the job, because rain was coming and I can't Wait . He say that he will call me next day and tell me for sure when he will be here . But he never called ,, and never,,, came. I'm very disappointed if someone has a business for long time and they don't have responsibility towards their customers, how do you expect to succeed, why does customer need to call him and remind him what to do . I mean ,,I call you ,, so you can make a money. But if you don't have respect for your customer, there is no money. When I did not received promised call back, I called other company who know how to run the business and they came next day, did the a job, and I paid $325.00 less than what Ramirez Roofing quoted me for, the job was done without 3 weeks + wait. I did not need to wait forever, and saved some money :). read more

I recently had Ramirez Roofing repair and replace the rotted under-layment and fascia on my 25 year old concrete tile roof. I contacted no fewer than 10 roofing contractors and received five bids. Right off I was most impressed by Ramirez Roofing's bid. The bid was concisely written, addressing each and every repair issue and the repair materials required in an orderly and easily understandable format. It was not the cheapest bid - although it was one third the cost of the highest bid - but it was the most thorough and professional. Ramirez Roofing notified me in advance of every date and time they would be working on the premises and were true to their word. The very personable crew worked fast and efficiently and left the premises clean after every work day. Ramirez Roofing did a great job on my roof and replaced the tiles perfectly. On top of the great service, I also received a three year warranty on their repairs. I would definitely recommend Ramirez Roofing! I'll preface this with the fact that I have worked in the construction industry most of my adult life. The significance of this lies in the fact that I feel I have less of chance of being BS'd and I know what is required for a repair. I also worked for a roofing company for a couple of summers when I was younger. On a recent heavy rain, I developed a significant leak above my garage and had to tear out a bunch of soaked sheetrock. In calling Jesse, at Ramirez Roofing, he came out and promptly found the source of the leak and offered an extremely fair estimate to fix it. This required replacing felt, flashing, cutting out/replacing stucco, and thoroughly cleaning out all valleys of accumulated leaves that caused the leak in the 1st place. Jesse informed me that the "lifetime" tile roofs need their valleys cleaned every few years to prevent leaks. Also, his stucco guy did a perfect job matching the new and the old; it looks exactly the same! After calling a few roofing companies, owner Jesse Ramirez from Ramirez Roofing & Gutters was by far the best with detailed knowledge. He was very detailed about the minor dry rot we had on the front of our home. What was so impressive was how he went into step by step on what needed to be done for the dry rot to be repaired correctly. Other companies that I called didn't bring up the things that Ramirez Roofing was going to do to repair the dry rot. On the contrary, Jesse mentioned that other roofing companies won't do what he's going to do because it takes more work but doing it the correct way resolves the problem with dry rot never happening again in that area. The entire job took few days because we also had our gutters replaced. Jesse and his crew kept us updated along the way with the process. Their attention to detail with respecting one's home with cleaning up after each day was to perfection. If I could give Ramirez Roofing & Gutters Inc. 10 Stars....I would. We had our complete roof on both our house and garage replaced by Jesse and his crew at Ramirez Roofing. Our job was not the norm, the house was built in the 30's and has a very steep roof. The wood shakes were totally rotten and we had many leaks and issues with the roof. It was so bad we even had to put up a tarp on the main roof. Jesse was the only roofer that came out to bid the job that was confident about helping us with our disaster of a roof. Some of the other companies didn't even want to bid the job. Jesse gave us a lot of options for our roof that we had not even heard of, including insulating the roof deck to help cool our upstairs rooms. We are extremely happy with the job they did on our house and garage. With the new roof deck insulation and the reflective shingles our house is much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Now we are saving money on electricity. Not only did the roof help make our house more energy efficient, it also transformed the overall look of our house and garage. We could not be happier. My parents were homebuilders for 20 years in Fair Oaks and Folsom, that was my experience with roofers. In my recent instance, Jesse provided exceptional optimism and professionalism. The roof would have been the very best, heat-rejecting composition shingles and a self-healing bitiminous layer (without gutters). (Gutters need maintenance and are customary in Sacramento.) 10-year warranty on labor. My best analogy is overhauling an automatic transmission: warranty is everything. Because that is where the sweet taste of low price, as the poem goes, is found to be fleeting and creates the avoidable situation. Also Ramirez' slogan: Quality. You precisely do not want any of the installers or helpers taking any shortcuts vs following best practices which I would trust Jesse &co to do in the very top rank. What I saw was better than fair pricing. So my recommendation is for both straightforward and perplexing work scopes and/or problem solutions. I called the BBB to get 3 roofing company references, of the 3 companies only 1 answered their business phone; Mrs. Sherrie immediately put me on the calendar for estimate. Mr. Ramírez very punctual came personally to see the problem and the same day he sent me the estimate for a reasonable price. And even though the repairs wouldn't start for another 3 weeks, Mr. Ramirez, Mrs. Sherrie and the staff went above and beyond to help and support me by getting the repairs done sooner so I could attend to a family emergency out of the country. Ramirez Roofing is honest, reliable and reasonable. I called Ramirez for an estimate for a re-roof and Jesse Ramirez returned my call within an hour. He came out a few days later, inspected my roof and told me that the roof was good for a couple more years so he didn't want to take my money for a new roof. I explained that I wanted to get it done now for personal reasons and within a day he sent me an estimate which was very reasonable. Within a week he had the materials delivered and shortly thereafter the roof was done. Jesse's crew was friendly and very capable - arriving very early and working as late as possible. Jesse was there each day to inspect the progress and even did the final clean up himself. Finding and hiring a contractor is stressful - you worry about the cost, the reliability of the contractor and the quality of the work. If you want to minimize the stress, call Jesse. I thought a recent storm blew off a roof vent and called three roofing companies requesting help. Jesse from Ramirez Roofing called back quickly and arranged to come out the next day to take a look. It turned out that when I converted my gas heating to electric, it caused the removal of a vent from my roof. The HVAC company covered the opening in a way that "did the job" (and passed inspection), but I wasn't comfortable with it as a long term, permanent solution. I arranged for Ramirez Roofing to install a permanent solution, which they did quickly and efficiently at a reasonable cost. The 3-person team arrived earlier than the scheduled window, removed the "temp solution", closed the opening and installed new concrete tile. They cleaned up all materials. All crew members were polite and professional. I would not hesitate to call Ramirez Roofing if I ever have future roofing needs. read more
