We just had our steep sloped roof replaced after our old wood shake roof was so worn out it had holes where we could literally see the sky up above. Titan Roofing gave us a fair bid and did an excellent job from start to finish. With great attention to detail, they put a temporary plastic cover on our in-ground pool to protect it while they worked. They cleaned up thoroughly every single day (not just at the end), which was a huge relief with our dogs around, so no debris could hurt them. After our roof was done, and because our roof is so big, they added a couple of solar vents, and extra intake soffit vents around the eaves of our house, so our attic would have good ventilation. We purchased a house that was in dire need of a new roof and had substantial dry rot to the fascia, sheathing, and other structural elements. After receiving quotes from 6 roofing contractors, Titan came in competitively -- in price, product, detailed invoice and professionalism. Their price was in the lower-to-middle end of the range, and while they were not the lowest, their attention to detail, knowledge and choice of materials made up for the difference. Eddie performed the inspection and he was a pleasure to work with, willing to answer all of my many questions and thoroughly explain his recommended fixes. He spent more time inspecting than any other contractor which went a long way in instilling confidence that his quote would be accurate and thorough, and it was! In addition to Malarkey shingles, ice and water underlayment, valley flashings, drip flashings, chimney cricket, ridge vents and new vent caps, the quote included a lump sum for visible dry rot and a matrix of pricing for additional unforeseeable dry rot. I came to learn that Malarkey materials are highly rated and I was happy to find that's what Titan used. We added a skylight replacement and Titan added this to the quote at no charge (I provided materials)! My wife and I visited their warehouse to take a look at the color choices to feel extra confident in our choices. The roof replacement and dry rot repair was completed in 3.5 days, aligning with their estimated 3-4 days. The tear-down took 1 day, the city inspected on day 2, and everything was done by lunch on the 4th day. At the end of each day, my yard was cleaned of debris. Scottie ran the show and he too was amenable and knowledgeable. He was proactive in asking for my preference in aesthetic changes, was kind enough to remove the old wiring for tv lines, and primered extra pieces of wood that had been installed by the previous owners. In short, he went above and beyond. After the work was done, on the 5th day I did a final walkthrough with Clay and Matt. I pointed out a few minor fixes which were addressed, no questions asked, by the end of the day. If I were to make one recommendation, it would be to improve communication between the inspection/quote and the install, as there were a few details that got lost in translation - particularly regarding the extent and location of dry rot. This wasn't itemized with measurements in the quote, but understandably so as the dry rot was extensive. Fortunately, I was there on day 1 to discuss this with Scottie and Eddie, and ultimately Titan did exactly as promised without an argument or price increase. I was nervous about added costs for hidden dry rot, but Titan stuck to the original price. They were both excellent to work with throughout the whole process. I measure value by list price, product quality, professionalism, communication, and final appearance. On all marks, Titan scored high! I met Titan Roofing through Angie's list, I needed a new roof. My roof was end of life and was hanging on by a thread. My sales adviser Elijah was punctual, detailed, professional and friendly. I appreciated when he came out he got to work with measurements, pictures and provided me a portfolio of the product type and color. That same day he emailed me a quote and let me decide from there if I was going to hire them. I hate when contractors spend an hour at your home trying to sale you and talk about how long they've been in business, put down other businesses (which in my opinion is unprofessional and tacky) and go on and on. I prefer to be provided with the information and price and let me be. When the crew came out they showed up at 6:45 am about 6 guys demo and was done within 2 1/2 hours I was impressed. The project manager Eddie was amazing!!! He communicated through the whole process, showed me things I was not aware of with all the dry rot I had. It took 4 days for him and 2 other men to install the roof. They cleaned up, they painted and did a wonderful job. I have to admit the only issue was my slider screen was off track. My roof started leaking at very strange place of my roof line after the last big storm. I contacted a few roofing companies and by far Titan stood out. The contacted me the same day about my situation. Eddie came out, reviewed the area, and suggested a number of ideas about correcting the leak. Dean Miller and his crews responded quickly to my request for an estimate, and listened to my special requests for some solutions to a few issues that the house had, and worked that into the bid. Their price was a bit more reasonable than other bids as well. When we gave them the go-ahead, they were out within two days to begin. Every crew (tear-off, gutters and roofing) cleaned up meticulously after themselves and worked efficiently, finishing in three days, including working with inspectors. The roof looks great! The modern style vents were placed on the rear surfaces so they cannot be seen from the street, and they added a couple so that the attic space can vent more heat. reAter the last storm, I contacted three roofing companies for quotes on repairs or replacement. Dean was the only one to get back to me in a timely manner to set an appointment. He came on time. Crazy to have to say that, but people actually don't show up, or come late! After checking my roof and taking pictures, Dean explained the options we had. We had to add some vents, etc. No upselling pressure. He sent me the pictures and an invoice quickly, we decided to replace the roof. Once that decision was made, things moved quickly! We got an appointment for the following week. The demo crew arrived earlier than expected, but had the roof torn off in a few hours. They covered everything and cleaned up behind themselves. The next morning, the crew arrived on time and got starte. They worked quickly, but a wind storm rolled in so they had to stop in the middle of the day. There was some rot that had to be repaired, and the extra cost for that (which were advised of may be discovered as the old roof is removed) was reasonable. They came back the next day, and my new roof was done! His crew did a great job of cleaning up behind themselves. The inspecter came the next day, and I received a copy of the permits for my records. Here are some tips: 1. If you have large plants around your house, support them. The demo crew lays out heavy tarps, and some of my plants were damaged. 2. In our case, the shingles were removed but the wood base was intact. It has cracks, so the dirt from the demo fell into the attic all over everything. In hindsight, I would have covered most of the attic items with tarps to protect them. All in all, I would hire Dean again! He was always available for questions, his crew was efficient, and we have a gorgeous new roof that will hopefully keep my house much cooler this summer! read more
