I'm thrilled with the new floors, they look amazing and the project came together exactly how I hoped. I had multiple other flooring contractors vanish or fall through before I contacted Orozco. When Brandon and Nathan came out to bid they immediately felt "right". They went through the whole house, talked with me about what I wanted, and pointed out several complications I hadn't thought of (and that the other flooring companies didn't either). He answered all my questions. He is very straight-forward, honest and knowledgeable. Since I was remodeling my home and the house went through various stages of completion, he came back a few times to answer additional questions and was easily accessible by phone. I signed a contract with him electronically and all billing is handled electronically which is nice. His pricing was competitive and inclusive of all material costs. He picked up the flooring materials from the distributor and brought them over. His crew was here around 9am everyday and worked until 4-5pm. They would let me know when they're leaving for lunch- not that I requested/expected this but it's worth pointing out. I have worked with many contractors and some of them work at varying hours each day and it can be tedious to call them and ask when they are coming in. This was never an issue with Orozco flooring. I like the way the team works. They placed blankets down on heavy traffic areas, cleaned up after themselves and left their tools in one area. They work very efficiently and methodically from one corner of the house to the other. They take pride in their work and make sure that you are satisfied with the finish overall and in specific areas such as near edges. I also asked them to install baseboard which they did an excellent job with. Overall the installation is very clean and looks great. On the last day I realized that I should have asked them to add flooring inside the entrance closet- I mentioned it to them and they added the flooring with the baseboard at no charge. One floor panel was also damaged moving a frige (not their fault) but they replaced that panel as well at no charge. There were a few areas in other closets that it wasn't possible to place baseboard in so they cut a t-molding strip to provide a clean finish. They really go above and beyond to make sure you are fully satisfied with their work. I highly recommend them and will definitely do business with them in the future.

In our experience, waterproofing a deck in San Diego can initially appear successful because of our…read moregenerally mild weather. In our case, however, two unusually heavy storms revealed serious problems with Medrano's work. After a lengthy dispute-resolution process involving Medrano's attorney, while we represented ourselves, Medrano ultimately agreed to remove and replace both of our decks at no fault of theirs, and at no cost to us. It was established that the original installation did not meet the required fire-rating specifications and had several defects, including missing fire blocking, water intrusion, and a drain pipe that was not connected -- despite many emails from Medrano stating that the installation met the manufacturer's specifications. The manufacturer had to step in and agree it didn't meet their standard, therefore would not be covered under their warranty. The manufacturer was amazingly supportive throughout this entire process, and their product is among the best in the industry. The second installation was a vast improvement, but it still had deficiencies. Medrano again disputed that every issue was a deficiency. The California State License Board became involved and formally cited Medrano for failure to build to industry standards. That citation is a matter of public record. Medrano stated by email that it would perform no more additional work, and left their bonding company and insurance company having to ensure completion and pay for damages caused to the unit below. I would also caution customers to be very careful with change orders. In our case, Medrano attempted to require us to agree to all change orders, including things such as internal painting, before they would complete any of the change-order work. These communications are documented in writing. Also note that fire-rated decking requires fire blocking, not structural blocking, or the use of tongue-and-groove plywood. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Medrano for deck waterproofing work. In our experience, Medrano's most troubling issue was not the defective work but the repeated refusal to take responsibility for it until outside pressure became necessary. If they respond to this review, I would encourage readers to compare their response with the documented facts, including the CSLB citation and the written communications regarding the unresolved work.

I called five different Stucco companies that were referred to me for a repair and none of them were licensed. I found Joe who is licensed and he saved us! We were up against the clock in order to close. I was not a repeat Customer. This was the first time I ever dealt with him so he owed me nothing yet he treated me like we were the most important people. He did our repairs over a weekend to be ready for reinspection. His communication was on point and he could have really gouged me price wise but didn't. His number is now forever in my contacts, if you need stucco work at your home this is the guy to call!!

During the huge rains we had in Oceanside we developed a leak in our second floor bathroom in the area below a window. Various companies I called were not interested in trying to figure out the source of the problem and just blamed the windows. When I called Joseph however it was a different story. He is extremely detail oriented and took the time to investigate the potential causes. He determined it was from cracked stucco near the window, but not the window itself. Which made perfect sense with the location and behavior of the leak. He meticulously started opening up the stucco to see the extent of the damage. He found the paper under the stucco had deteriorated pretty severely on that wall due to the extreme sun exposure over the years. He continued to open it up until he was comfortable that he had exposed all the issues. After replacing all the damaged areas, stuccoing the entire wall and repainting, you couldn't even tell the whole side had been opened up. He even took the time to examine all the windows above the area of the leak for any damage, and thoroughly cleaned them and even resealed them. We also had Joseph remove a statue from an alcove and re stucco the area. And again, his work was impeccable. Paint matching was perfect. He took pictures of everything as he worked, he explained all of the things he was doing and why he was doing them. His pricing was very fair and communication was very good. On a personal note, he was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate his attention to detail, and his quality work. But he was also just a kind and friendly person to talk with. He would even offer to pick up food or supplies for us if we needed anything when he was on his way or getting supplies. I highly recommend Joseph in all regards.
