They fixed a few cracks and put a flexible base coat it before spraying a new color coat on. It took about a week. When Pat inspected it he wasn't happy with the color uniformity (evidently this can happen with darker colors). I thought it looked good and would even out over time but he straightened me out on that. He sent his crew back out to fog the whole house and it came out really nice. Pat and his crew are very customer oriented, honest with no drama. Forgot to mention their bid was also competitive. We're very happy with the experience and the results.

Years ago, we had our AC units relocated to another part of the yard / house so while the units were gone and the pipes closed, they were still sticking out of the wall. After reviewing a half dozen stucco companies, we hired Pat and his team to properly remove the unsightly pipes and repair the stucco on the side of the house. Additionally, in the process of preparing the house for painting, we removed a ton of bougainvillea and shrubs that were along the house and retaining wall so they can paint. Once removed, it uncovered a lot of stucco damage to our retaining wall so I reached out to Pat to have those added to the job. To add to the chaos, we were getting our roof AND whole exterior part of the house pressure washed so I wanted to make sure that didn't conflict with the work that Pat and his team were going to do. Pat was very accommodating with our schedule and put our mind at ease that all would be fine with the timing of everything else going on. Carlos and Jose P. came to do the job on a Friday and went right to work prepping the area before any work was done. Carlos repaired the retaining wall and was a master at cleaning up the corners and edges to match the rest of the wall. You can't even tell that there were any cracks or chips -- and he color matched the wall perfectly. It looks like a brand new wall! The side of the house...oh my goodness! More perfection. We've been looking at these ugly pipes and the terrible stucco patch job for years and it was such a relief to finally have them gone. Better yet, it looks as if they were never there!! Jose did such an INCREDIBLE JOB on the stucco - we could not have asked for better. Yes, we could have just left and painted over and all would have been fine but hiring Pat and his team was the right call and we are so happy with the work done. Our painters came the following Monday and they were really impressed with the work done too and asked for Pat's number. I was more than happy to pass along and I will continue to recommend Pat whenever I can. I know I went to a lot of detail but I just wanted to accurately express how much we appreciated Pat and his team. So many times we hire contractors and while we are thrilled the project is done, you feel meh about the work. Not at all the case here. Pat and his team checked all the boxes for someone who is pretty particular (aka. OCD) and hard to please when it comes to something visual (hey, I'm in marketing). Pat was knowledgeable, responsive, honest about the work needing to be done, fair in pricing, timely, provided a superb team with excellent skills--and they left the job as if they were never here. We are so pleased with the job done at our home and we hope you consider Pat on your next project. You won't regret it!

Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. I am giving Green Flash 2 stars based on a severely rushed recent inspection and the poor quality…read moreof their past repair work. Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

The wife and I discovered Allied Coating at the Del Mar fair this year. Since we had been talking about having our backyard patio cement slabs coated we decide to stop by their booth. After speaking with the sales rep we decided to give them a try and have an estimate done. We are so glad we did. Joe Ausilio (estimator) came by to give us an estimate. Joe is the most professional and nicest guy you could ever meet. He broke down the cost (for approximately 600sq ft), the choices we had for our concrete slabs, and what needed to be done. He recommended the knockdown texture in the color Omaha tan, which we went with and are so happy we did. The crew was professional and show up to do the work as schedule. After the work was completed (it took 2days) unexpected rain came down prior to the coating drying. This caused white patches on the coating. I immediately called Joe and he assured me that Allied coating would take care of it. A week later the crew came back to my house and resealed my concrete slab. Contacted Allied Coatings for a quote. I was a bit hesitant at first to have the coating done after reading a few reviews not to do, but Joe put me at ease and promised I would love the look and made a promise to repair or fix if something were to happen. As for reviews in general, you just can't rely on them 100% because there are always those complainers that will give terrible reviews and some are very pleased and happy. Then you have some that will do anything to hurt your business; however, I went with my gut feeling and confidence from Joe. The job was done within a 3-day period as estimated and the crew was very friendly and did an excellent job. So very pleased. It's been over a month now and it's just beautiful. I was so tired of messing with the contract stain because it just didn't last. I think this product may have issues where there is water, but it was currently used on my new home on the outside CA rooms. I would definitely recommend Allied Coatings and their product. read more

We have recommended Allied to our friends and neighbors. Even our HOA took advantage of our recommendation and contracted with Joe to resurface the large pool decking around our community pool with kool deck, which was no small feat since it is a junior Olympic sized pool. Don, the owner, was a very nice and friendly guy. No pressure at all. He came out and gave us an assessment and reasonable options for repair. His company had reasonable pricing and lots of great options. He does the work himself on site with his staff which is awesome. They were very thorough in their exceptional craftsmanship. They power washed the driveway and then proceeded to grind off the old paint. Afterwards the vacuumed the dust on day 1. Then they primed the concrete, painted it on day 2/3 and sealed it on day 4. The high quality textured paint helped prevent slipping when walking it wet. It's built to last decades. Don gave me daily updates and he was very reliable. Great communication! While initially upon delivery, our floors looked great, the joy was short lived as issues began to 'literally' popup. The floors are basically painted concrete, and the paint flakes very easily. Add blue painters tape on it, the paint comes off. Anything with rubber that is even a little heavy will pull the paint off. Even a rubber mat we had next to our door started taking of tiny pieces when we moved it. We hired a house inspector at one point, who used his fingers at one spot under our biggest bubble to dig down about half an inch into the underlying material. with his fingers... He did not have kind words for the workmanship to say the least. We have tried working with Ryan to resolve it, and have at times waited weeks for replies to our inquiries. Even now, three years later, we still see bubbles growing and new ones forming. At the time of installation, Ryan was aware this was partly done on an old slab AND a new slab we had just poured, so it should not be any surprise what was under our floors. This should have been planned for and accounted for and prepared for, OR they could have told us that this was an inappropriate floor for our house. But none of that happened. We are obviously very unhappy and frustrated, and we would not recommend this company to anyone. If only 0 stars was an option...

I got a few estimates from other concrete companies and Coastal Concrete wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, they were in the middle and what I thought was a fair price so I went with them. The crew of guys were great with the demo, worked hard and cleaned up after the day. The pour was on Saturday, everyone was on time and ready to go. They did a great job and kind of wish I had gone with the full driveway it looked so nice. Coastal Concrete did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate recommending them.

Matt and team showed up yesterday (on time) and they spent the entire day installing an entirely new backsplash in my kitchen. The workers were very detail-oriented. In a few cases I saw them redo something that just didn't look perfect. The crew did a wonderful job of cleaning up before they left. My new backsplash looks SPECTACULAR. I could not be happier with the final result. I am very impressed with the level of quality. I specifically asked for tight grout lines and that they be perfectly straight and that is exactly what I got. I'm a perfectionist and I can be tough to please, but I am 100% happy with the project. I can honestly say this was the best experience I've ever had with a home improvement contractor. From start to finish, Mike Stratton and his team were outstanding. Mike is friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in his work. He was flexible throughout the project as I made a few design changes along the way, and he was always willing to discuss options and offer thoughtful recommendations. What really impressed me was that many of Mike's best ideas didn't increase the cost of the project. He suggested installing a sleeve under the new driveway so I could easily run irrigation or electrical lines to the other side in the future, something I hadn't even thought about before he mentioned it and will almost certainly make use of. He also recommended embedding a drainage pipe beneath one area of the concrete so that, if drainage ever became an issue, it would already be in place and could easily be tied into. He also recommended removing the old porch step to create a seamless, modern transition to the front entry. As we discussed different layout ideas, including curves versus straight runs, he made it clear that the cost would be the same regardless of which design I chose, allowing me to focus on what looked best rather than what cost more. The workmanship was exceptional. The crew was professional, friendly, and obviously very experienced. You could tell these are craftsmen who have been doing this for a long time. They worked efficiently, never seemed rushed, and paid attention to the details. Mike stopped by every day, often multiple times, to check on progress, answer questions, and make sure everything met his standards. The project stayed on schedule from beginning to end, with each phase flowing smoothly into the next. They also went above and beyond at the finish by repairing stucco that had been disturbed during construction, rehanging my gate, and even patching some older stucco adjacent to the project that wasn't really part of the job. The finished driveway and walkways look fantastic and have completely transformed the curb appeal of our home. Just as importantly, the work looks incredibly solid. Even the walkways were built with the same attention to durability as the driveway. Nothing about the project felt like corners were being cut. The price was also very fair. In fact, another contractor I'm working with on a separate project, someone who frequently works alongside concrete companies, told me that the price I paid was very reasonable for the scope of work being performed. I recommend Mendenhall Concrete without hesitation. When I'm ready to tackle the backyard, they'll be my first call.

The main issue was that we would agree on a scope of work and price, but after the job started, he would later complain about the price or try to change the terms. On one project, he initially offered a discount if I paid cash, but about a week later said he could no longer honor that arrangement. I agreed to pay the full amount because he is also my neighbor across the street and I wanted to keep things friendly. I also asked him to repair damaged stucco under my patio doors, and he agreed to include that work. While I was traveling, he sent me a bill for the full amount, and I paid assuming the agreed work had been completed. When I returned, I found that the stucco repair had not been done. I asked him again to fix it. He sent a long message complaining about the price and scope of the work, apologized, and said he would fix it -- but he never did. After dealing with repeated complaints, uncertainty around agreed pricing, and unfinished promised work, I gave up. I would not hire him again. In my opinion, there was too much inconsistency and stress for work that should have been handled clearly and professionally.
