This review is long overdue. I can highly recommend Azar Builders General Engineering and Building Contractors. They completed a new drainage system for our HOA and did a great job. Our old system was filled with roots and mud. We had tried jetting, but it did not work. Pete recommended a new system and tied in the gutter spouts to keep the water from filling the planters and seeping through the foundation, which it had been doing for years. They took out the vegetation, tore out the concrete, laid the pipes and re-poured the concrete. We didn't have to parse out any of the work. Pete was flexible, offered us a very fair and reasonable price - lower than many other quotes we received. Although we had to wait a while to get on his books because he was so busy, it was worth it. He was quick to answer questions, made sure the work met our standards and expectations and everyone on his crew was friendly and professional. The work started and ended on schedule. Our retaining wall (or what was meant to be a retaining wall) fell in April of 2020. We ended up getting in contact with Pete at Azar Builders and he put all of our concerns at ease. He talked us and our neighbors through the entire process of a retaining wall build - from soil sampling to engineer plans to permitting and finally to the actual build. We recently found that our 8 unit Condo complex needed some foundation work. We talked to several larger foundation companies about getting push piers installed. I decided I wanted to see if there were any other options and reached out to Azar Builders. Pete Azar was quick to respond and scheduled an inspection with me. He looked over our entire building and the locations with the foundation issues. He was very easy to communicate with and upfront. Pete let us know that he thought push piers might be overkill and provided some alternative ideas, including paving over some garden beds that were caused by the foundational issues due to expansion and contraction of the soil. He then suggested we do an independent engineering survey to confirm this fix before he wanted to proceed. We did the engineering survey, which confirmed Pete's thoughts and decided to proceed with his suggestion. About a month after, Pete and his team came by and took care of the demo and concrete in 3 days of work and an additional day for the concrete to dry. The concrete looks great and is already helping keep water away from the locations with issues. Pete and his team were extremely easy to work with, hard working, and had high attention to detail. I simply can't say enough about working with Pete and his team at Azar Builders. We are a military family and were trying to complete the difficult task of purchasing a home to move into once we came back from an overseas station. Initial inspections turned up issues with the foundation (on a nearly 100 year old house), and estimates were high for repair.
