She makes sure that the animals are going to good homes by asking for pictures of where they'll live and of the adopters knowledge of the animals. The wellbeing of the animals is truly her main concern. What she's doing is so amazing as these animals often get bought when they're tiny and cute then when they get huge they'll just get abandoned. I got a bigger guy bc I've always wanted a giant tortoise and finally have the space to do so. I love my big boy so much.

She gave us a tour of her property and introduced us to all of the tortoises she cares for. The enclosures are incredible, and it's obvious that every tortoise there is well cared for and very lucky to be in her hands. All adoptions are free however please consider giving a donation so Jacqui can continue this wonderful organization. We originally went to adopt one desert tortoise and somehow left with two! We instantly fell in love with a tortoise that had been dropped off that very morning. We are beyond happy to have added these two to our family. If you're considering adopting or just want to learn more about these amazing animals, I can't recommend Sulcata Rescue Ranch enough!

The process and application was quite extensive, for the protection of the adopted dogs.None of the selection process ( of us) was unreasonable . We adopted our dog in february this year. The first worker we were in contact with Melissa, was…read moresuper nice and had great energy and was honest and willing to answer all of our questions. The day of adoption comes to take our baby home and the vibe was nasty. We were met with another worker we never met and her attitude came across as judgey, dismissive, and overall just wanted to get it over with. Our dog was spayed that weekend we got her, and no pain medicine was provided for her. FYI they take the dogs to get spayed in Mexico where it cost a nickel and two dimes, and then turn around and hit you with a fat fee of $600 for the adoption, spay, microchip, and other stuff. We asked questions about the dogs health and mentioned that the other worker told us she has mild dental issues (not a problem at all) we just wanted to get maybe more insight on that. No completely dismissive and straight up lied to our face about our dog having any dental problems and claiming she's completely fine. Come to find in the paper work they provide you, it says she has dental disease. Following that my partner has never owned a pet before so they were just asking basic questions about what to know. She had a rude attitude for every reply and the energy was very off putting for a first dog adoption expirence. Following taking our dog home we find out she's extremely reactive towards other dogs, (totally fine) we email TBL about her reactivity just to see if she had any issues with other dogs when she was at the shelter. No response. that clearly paints the picture that they don't care about you or your dog. They have a long lengthy contract to sign that will completely cover their ass but would screw you over if anything happens. Very shady, we are staying away for our second dog.

Their priority is definitely for the Love &Concern for all the animals. They are not just about adopting out all the animals they are concerned about who &where each animal goes to.My personal opinion only I don't think many of the animals there want to leave lol seriously the small dogs &cats(the only ones we looked at) all seemed so happy to be there most definitely the small dogs were all buddies. Couple dogs I walked around the property just wanted to go back to their living areas with the rest of the dogs lol they were all loving sweet dogs as well as the kitties when we went into their living area several immediately came up to us wrapping their tails around our legs loving up on us. I've never seen an animal foundation so organized with the kindest people running it ever. Frosted Faces is in Ramona and if you are not looking to foster or adopt definitely DONATE to them! They truly are in it for the LOVE OF ANIMALS 2THUMBS UP to ANDY and KELLY we love you guys and we love what you do for the animals. Sincerely Michelle &Nancy

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!…read more I have been patient in looking to add a kitten/cat to our family and stumbled across Marigold on a fosters Instagram page which prompted me to submit an application. Kat reached out the very next day after reviewing our application and pre approved us. Yelena reached out for all coordination afterwards. Marigold was not even posted on the rescues page but they were so kind and were able to get us in to meet her. The foster mom (and dad) were wonderful and have been doing this for so long (60+ kitties). We instantly fell in love with Marigold and were able to be selected to adopt her (pat on our back for being able to provide a good home). She came from a hoarder home and was lucky to survive from malnutrition. We came back to get her after getting she completed her shots/spayed. Not even 24 hours in, my one year old tabby loves her and she is settling in perfectly. I will say I have had not so great experiences with other rescues in the area and Dirty Little Paws surpassed all expectations! I hope one day I can repay them and foster another baby in need.

This woman has a huge heart for animals and she really truly gives of herself fully to each animal. Her farm has a lot going on - dogs, goats, chickens, oh my! - so of course she has a lot on her mind. Lots of "furry friends" - I can't imagine how she can balance it all with a smile! After I visited, I learned that friends of mine adopted from her over a year ago. Their dog is happy and healthy, although a little bigger than expected - but it's always tough to estimate size pups will grow into without knowing their momma's size! Ultimately, I did not end up adopting from Deborah because my heart was captured by a pup at another rescue. BUT based on my experience with Deborah's deep knowledge of how to adopt and care for new puppies, her love of animals, and her general flexibility and kind-heartedness, I highly recommend working with her! I know I can call her if I need anything, and that's huge! I absolutely plan on taking my new pup over to her farm to socialize my pup and get good advice from Deborah. If you find a four-legged friend you're interested in, don't hesitate to work with Deborah and Furry Friends Rescue!
