I posted this on Google but decided our experience was so ridiculous that I had to post it here as well. The service was deplorable. Our waiter was not only rude but demanding. He yelled at us for our drinks, asked us to order so he "wouldn't get yelled at by his boss" and then walked away mid order...there were only two of us. He told us we were not allowed to say we didn't want the guacamole on the side because the dish comes with guacamole, and then he called my friend "poop" in Spanish when we asked for a box. The group of 9 next to us even commented about how he asked our order and then walked away while we were speaking. Only half of their drink orders were taken. I never leave reviews but honestly, if I could give the service here 0 stars, I would. read more

Stopped by because we were hungry. It was a good Mexican restaurant with the selections being varied and decently priced. We practiced Spanish with the waiter and he was very accommodating helping us correct a phrase or word. It's a typical Mexican restaurant with Spanish music playing in the background and laid back style of even getting you seated. We like the atmosphere and the food. read more

Solid mexican food - actually, excellent chips and salsa (the ultimate way to judge any mexican restaurant... bad C&S and you should walk away, but like this one it was excellent!!) The queso was worth the price - creamy and an excellent addition to the Flautas that my wife had. I'm going to use a trigger word here, but the Flautas were MOIST - yeah I said it - live with it, embrace it. Unlike other places - even the greats like Pappasitos or Chuys, these Flautas were excellent - moist without a lot of fuss. The pollo con crema (if you have not had it, chicken with onions and mushrooms in a creamy sauce was on point. As good as 3-margaritas with a little chili to make it nice. For a small colorado town, this was nice - outdoor seating, good service, I'll definitely stop on my frequent drive through. read more

Dined here tonight with two of my kids and myself who have celiac disease. While the menu is marked with gluten-free items, the labeling is misleading. My son ordered the tacos, which were marked gluten-free, they came with rice and refried beans. After he had already taken a bite, I asked the waiter to double-check, and it turned out the refried beans contained flour. Very disappointing, especially for those with serious dietary restrictions. That said, everything else was good. Service was good. read more

After an 8 hour drive nothing says Colorado like fajitas at Ramons. We had mixed chicken and beef. We thought we would have leftovers but we ate the whole damn thing. Very fresh, fresh tasting salsa n chips, good friendly service. My only negative is the automatic 2% charge on credit card payments. read more

We went here on a whim when we were in Pagosa. Ramon's is located ins a shopping area near City Market. There's plenty of parking. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice, clean restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Most of the staff was pleasant, but our server wasn't very friendly. She forgot my sister's drink order. I ordered a draft beer and it was served ¾ full. Not good! The food was just OK. I had the Macho Burrito. It was a good sized burrito, packed with meat, but it had no spice added. I had to pour the salsa for the chips over it to give it any flavor at all. Our server didn't come to check on how we liked the food until we were already done. I told her the burrito had no spice. She said I should have asked for spice on the side. I think it would be much better if I had the option of how spicy I wanted the burrito when I ordered it. My dad ordered a hamburger. Yah, I know you don't order a hamburger at. Mexican restaurant, right? Anyway, it was very similar to a burger you'd get at Sonic. The fries were pretty average as well. For desert, we had sapodillas. They were pretty good. Three were fluffy and one was flat. So, Ramon's gets three stars. Not bad, really. Just ask for some spice on the side to add to your food! read more

It is always unfortunate when I have to write a negative review. Unfortunately, the staff at Ramon's have forced my hand. Simple request: a mixed drink. Our waiter brought it out. It was too strong. I politely asked if they would add some more of something to offset the strong taste of liquor. If I had ordered a shot, that would have been closer to the flavor. After asking if he would add some flavoring to it, our waiter blatantly did not want to fix it. He essentially said "no" without saying it. Astounding service. So I ordered a water because if he was too lazy for that I would have walked out. Only reason I did not leave is because I was with family. Also ordered a normal dish. It was fine. Nothing spectacular, lacked depth. Salsa was pretty good. I am certain most experiences are fine, but I did not enjoy it after that truly distasteful experience of my own. read more

I came with my husband to check this place out. I was so happy this food is authentically Mexican. I ordered the albóndigas and it was so delicious. My husband ordered a combo plate of enchiladas and beef taco, I was surprised that he ate everything in the plate. The owner is a great gentleman. He took the time to talk to us and recommended several places to visit. The decor is beautiful and reminded me of Mexico City. I highly recommend this place. Prices are great too. read more

Came here while on vacation and was not disappointed. Was seated quickly with a group of 8 and enjoyed some very good salsa! I ordered the flautas, very good, and a strong and good margarita. We have lived in Pagosa for 30 years and patronized Ramon's since they opened, celebrating many special occasions there, taking visitors and large groups there, attending teacher happy hours every Friday and spending lots and lots of money at Ramons. We were both in the restaurant industry previously and are VERY good tippers. Tonight I went there with a friend to celebrate our mutual birthdays on Cinco de Mayo. We had gifts for one another and had not seen each other months due to Covid. After 45 minutes when we were trying to decide on a second drink, we were told by the waitress that there were lots of people waiting. One of the managers was especially rude when we were not ready to pay our bill. He out and out told us that we should not be celebrating birthdays on Cinco de Mayo. They were busy. In town for skiing and run into this place. We had to wait for about 20min but the staff was very attentive and kept us updated. Attention Tourists and Transients! This place is the one to stop at after several hours on the road. It's convenient to a few shops and has ample parking for RV's and Camper's. The food was quite tasty and a welcome stop along the drive through the Rockies. Service was fast and maybe a little short staffed, but they managed it well thanks to the kitchen getting the food out in a timely way. I would stop in again and hope to do that on my next journey through the Pagosa Springs area. read more

Stayed in Pagosa Springs for a girls weekend... reviews were not kind about this local restaurant. One review said the salsa was out of a jar....it is not. The food was good and served timely. I would give this restaurant zero stars, but you can't do that. First, let me start with the atmosphere. Let's just say that if you are a parent on a night out, that's not going to happen. You would walk in to be welcomed by tons of screaming crazy children. Now, for the servers. One man was pretty quick with the chips, but besides that it was pretty bad. The lady serving us seemed to have a mean glare on her face, and it seemed like the man feeling our water up did everyone else's water, except ours. For the food; it was ok. The tortillas were rubbery, and the tortilla chips were pretty much bland without salt. Also, the salsa was wet! I don't know about you, but that's just straight up gross! The chicken strips, on the other hand, tasted like KFC, so that's ok, I guess. The margarita was weak, and they messed up my brother's taco horribly. Not only that, but the taco was so bad, it repulsed my younger brother, who eats pretty much everything. Not only that, but if you sit upstairs, buckle up, because it feels like a roller coaster every time someone walks by. The ground dips! The salad was pretty simple. Nothing real bad or good about that one. Also, when we came in, it took about 20 minutes before we were sat down. All in all, I do not suggest you come here. read more
