Whenever we visit Pagosa Springs, we manage to eat dinner at Tequila's. The menu is incredibly large, and everything we have ever eaten here has been superb. I am partial to Camarones en Salsa Verde. This is jumbo shrimp, cooked over charcoal and served with a green tomatillo sauce, with Spanish rice topped with baby shrimp. The large plate is always clean when I'm done. Food delicious. The view is spectacular - along the San Juan River. Nice interior atmosphere if you want to forgo the outdoor deck seating. Unique furniture with lots of art. Good service that is attentive yet not intrusive. This is a great restaurant, and I wanted to commend them sufficiently that I went to the trouble of adding this business to Yelp. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Tequila's was able to accommodate 10 of us (6 adults/4 kids) on the back deck. We asked for water, tea and Dr. Pepper to drink. The overall question that's interesting is why would this restaurant limit their customers to one refill. No other restaurant we have visited while in Pagosa Springs has limited drink refills. I ordered the chicken nachos with an excessive amount of jalapeños, no jalapeños were on my plate as you can see from the picture attached. We will not be back.

Very nice experience at Tequilas. We dropped in because we were sick of dealing with traffic and this location was right off the road. We had margaritas that hit the spot and our dinner was very tasty. Service was prompt and our food came out quickly. The atmosphere was a traditional Mexican feel. It was comfortable and cute. We were right next to the river for a nice after dinner walk.

$4 bottle of water... and nope, they will not put water in a cup used for the soda...

Skip. This. place! 4 people $100 of hot garbage food. No customers other than us fools who didn't read reviews first. If staying at the hot springs, you would be tempted to walk over the bridge to this place, don't.. seriously, get in the car and find somewhere else.

    Gross.

This is the worst mexican restaurant experience I've ever had. The meal started with a bottle of water after the salsa came so my mouth was burning and my only quench was bottled water. After an hour of waiting, we received the picture below. Not what you want to see. We were out of there as soon as possible. I'd avoid at all costs. Super expensive too. Overall pagosa springs has more to offer.

The meal started off on the wrong foot. We walked in the door with an empty cup to put in the trash, as there was trash can outside and the hostess snapped at us "No outside food!". My granddaughter put the empty cup then in the trash can. We sat outside and placed our orders. Our food came in 2 different deliveries. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, and she was surprised! How did she expect us to eat? She then just tossed them on the table instead of handing them to us individually. I had a taco salad with shredded beef. I got to enjoy it again later, when I threw it back up in my mouth and had to spit it out. Obviously, there was something wrong on with it. The kids liked their ground beef tacos, and the other had shrimp with rice. She passed on eating the coleslaw. The other adult had chicken fajitas and enjoyed hers. There was then an issue of flying gnats landing on our food. Yes, we were next to the river, and this problem is hard to prevent. Maybe a bug zapper would be an idea on the outdoor covered porch.

We sat outside by the river and ordered quesadillas. They were some of the best I have had.

There was also a local guitarist playing music inside which gave it a nice ambiance. They provided us complementary chips and salsa and said, if we order dinner, we would get access to the salad bar. My husband went for the carnitas plate and I had two stuffed beef chile rellenos. Both of us got extra beans instead of the beans and rice. The salad bar had all the basics to make a salad and a variety of toppings and dressings. My only comment is to label the dressings. We were guessing which was what and hoped for the best. I think I had some kind of creamy balsamic dressing and my husband got ranch. The other two options looked like ceasar and bluecheese but we were not sure. Many guests were having to sample the dressings at the salad bar to figure it out. The presentation of our food they prepared was nice and looked delicious. My husband said the carnitas plate was a good portion, but it did have some fatty pieces and was flavorless until he added the salsa. We both also enjoyed the beans that came with our food. The beef stuffed rellenos also had potatoes inside and the tomato sauce on top was interesting I've never had it this way. I asked for some salsa that my husband had with his plate to add to my mine which gave it more of a kick for flavor since I couldn't even taste the poblano pepper or any other spices. Overall, the food was underwhelming and geared toward those who want mexican food without spice.
