I love the front staff of the animal hospital. They're always friendly. All the vet techs have been…read morewonderful too. I loved our original vet up until the pandemic when we had a situation that felt very abrasive and rude, and I think about it often. After that we switched and will use two other vets from here and I've been super happy again. It is always an expensive visit, but I know my dog is cared for when there.

Unfortunately this experience will stay with me the rest of my life. Yes my cat was 17 years old…read more Yes I understand he wasn't a patient at this vet. This was on a Saturday. His vet was closed. I also have a very delicate/difficult situation where I'm unable to travel. Time wasnt on his side. Time is precious and every second counts during an emergency situation. The Capeway was open and and I'll never understand getting turned down when I first called in a panic with an emergency situation. An emergency is urgent. Even if they went fully equipped for the whole situation why couldn't have they said yes bring him in right away? Maybe he would have had a shot to live. Maybe he could have been stabilized as i was getting in contact with someone who could have then drove him to the emergency hospital. Now here I was wasting time calling other places. In a panic my mom called my aunt and asked for help after I did. She called this place as she googled who was open. So after about 15 minutes wasted they said yes bring him in when my aunt called. Why couldn't it have been yes right away? Are all vets like this? Is this the system? Why can't vets take emergency situations? Especially in my situation where i told them i was unable to get to the emergency hospital. How can someone in this field turn down the opportunity to save a life? Just a lot of unfortunate situations in this world. I wasn't expecting to bring him in for free. Ready to pay, you beg and this is how the world works? At the end of the day at least I know what illness he had and why he died. I'm honestly am having a hard time putting everything into words and how I feel. I'm sure as people read this it may get misunderstood and that's okay. In my world this is unacceptable and pets and their owners deserve better, at least in my world. Sammy did have an appointment with his vet on Tuesday, but unfortunately he passed on Saturday here. The bottom line is my cat is breathing out of his mouth can you please take him in? Answer was no. Wasted time then said yes. Unacceptable! I really really wished the answer was yes right away, then whatever happened then at least I would of had more of a peace of mind. I would have felt that they tried. That's all I wanted.

I can't speak about the other vets as I have contact only with Dr. Pitcairn. I would also like to mention that Emily Wood goes above and beyond her work there. She is friendly to all of the clients and makes the visit enjoyable.

It took a long time to check us in because the male employee checking clients in was helping an elderly couple. He was having a difficult time gathering the correct dog food for this particular elderly couple. Long story short. I check in both my dogs. ( mind you my husband had to come with me because 2 dogs can be a handful). We waited for about 2 minutes before being called into an exam room. The tech took down some information and then proceeded to leave and say the vet would be in shortly. After waiting about 20 minutes the tech comes in and says "I'm sorry because you were late for your appt, the doctor is going to euthanize a pet and then you will get seen". Although I feel terrible for the people putting down their dog I proceeded to explain I was not late, it was the check in process. We were checked in late because the male employee was helping an elderly couple. I even told her the entire conversation. I also explained it took a while for me to get this appt because I had 2 dogs and my husband had to be home to help me. I told her I wanted to speak to the vet before she went and saw another client. I waited an additional 15 minutes in the room. It is now 5:40 and my appt was for 4:55pm. I was so angry I got up and left.!! I have been a client of there's for close to 20 years. There is always issues with wait times, which I normally wouldn't mind. But to say it was my fault. That I arrived late!! I have never been late to anything in my life!!!

Everyone you encounter is always so friendly, they get you in fast at your appointment time, and the vet is very thorough and informative! They send plenty of reminders when it's time for a visit or vaccines. In the end the prices aren't the worst I've seen either. They even offer complimentary nail trims on visits which is super helpful as our cats aren't a fan. This will definitely be our life long vet!

So, of course, she gave the vet her credit card number. Not only did we have a sick cat, but my wife was also ill at the time. As it turned out, the day she was supposed to bring the cat in, my wife was admitted to the hospital. After being released from the hospital, she called the vet and asked about the deposit. Was it refundable?Could she use it toward another visit? The answer : sorry, no refund and the deposit can't be used toward another visit. My wife has been rescuing stray and sick cats for over 30 years. We have spent thousands of dollars keeping these animals healthy and happy. But we wont' spend another penny with this vet. There are professionals who see their patients and there are those who only see their patients' wallets.
