Please do not bring a loved pet here! I had brought my dog to this office for her whole life, just for annual appointments because she was a young healthy pup. They do charge on the higher side, but I was more than willing to pay for my dog to go to an office she knew and was comfortable in. Three years ago Dr. Karen Reamsnyder slapped my dog on the snout because she would not stay still for her, and was anxious during her exam. This MD makes no accommodations for the animals as patients, and makes her staff raise the exam table even though it definitely makes some pets anxious. From then on she made me give my dog strong medications to get through her annual exam. I should have changed vets after that event, but I thought I'd make sure she never did that to my dog again. My dog then was diagnosed with cancer at this office. Not one person, including Dr. Karen Reamsnyder,, said sorry that she had this diagnosis. She just said " this is not the outcome we hoped for". My dog had to stay in a crate there for hours waiting for a consulting vet to arrive to perform the testing. They would not allow her to be brought in a way that she could spend less time crated. At this time we decided to bring her to an oncology veterinarian for palliative care-who told us at her first visit that Raynham vet hospital made my pet out to be " Cujo". My dog had never been aggressive and/or attempted to bite any person or animal. This new office was kind and caring in the last months of my dog's life, and I'm so thankful she never had to go back to Raynham Veterinary Hospital again. I would never bring a pet to this office in the future. read more

February 5, 2007 was the first appointment we had here. Sadly, after over 17 years of trusting Raynham Veterinary Hospital with our 3 dogs, we are no longer with them. I can see by reading other reviews that they often say that "take their Google Reviews very serious", but unfortunately, they don't have their priorities set straight. Evidently, they do no care for their customer loyalty or experience. After being charged $410 for an Annual Exam with vaccines, I decided to just do some price shopping. Come to find my neighbor is paying $38 for an Annual Exam Fee (for 2 dogs at the same time) at another local, reputable Vet that I know many go to. The day prior I paid $110 for the same Annual Exam Fee. To me, that's an astounding difference. I called 4 other local Vets to find that they all charge significantly less for Exams, Vaccines and all general care that I inquired about. I kindly called let the girl who answered the phone and told her that I wanted to be fair and let them know that we may be leaving due to the high prices being charged at Raynham Veterinary Hospital. Her immediate response was "oh yes, we've been getting a lot of calls and people leaving because of that!".... I told her that we had been with them for almost 20 years and I wondered if Dr. Reamsynder would care to know that we are considering leaving because of the drastic difference in pricing. She said she'd leave her a note letting her know. Surprisingly, I never heard from the Doctor, but I did come back into the office the following day for a Nail Trim for my other dog as she desperately needed it. As I entered, I saw the Doctor at the front desk. She either hadn't seen the message or decided not to speak with me about my concerns as she walked into the back shortly after. My extremely anxious dog and I waited 15 minutes and then I let them know that I was going to take her outside until they were ready. During that time I was able to call two other Vets and our Doggy Daycare. I scheduled a nail trim for $15 versus the $37 Raynham Vet (THIRTY SEVEN!!) was going to charge me. I then walked into the office and kindly asked how I would go about getting my records to transfer to another Vet. The girl with a big smile on her face immediately responded "I can copy them or send them right over to to the other Vet". Within 48 hours my copied files were in my mailbox. I'm completely disgusted and saddened by the lack of loyalty and care this hospital has. It's pretty much a known fact that Dr. Reamsnyder has opportunities in the area of Customer Service and Bedside Manner, but to know that she can overcharge and treat her long-time customers the way she does, is very, very concerning. Over the years, I have heard some negative stories, but always ignored them as we had been there forever and trusted them. I truly wished that a long time ago I listened when friends would tell me that Raynham Veterinary Hospital was way too expensive and I should go elsewhere... read more

Amazing people! I wanted a 2nd opinion of a bowel issue my dog was having. My original vet wanted to send him right off for a $1600 MRI. Dr Buche at Raynham Veterinary chose a more cautious - AND FRUGAL!! - approach. As Beau is not losing weight and has great energy, she suggested a few medicinal options to try. Then, if those didn't work, we MIGHT be talking an ultrasound and/or a colonoscopy. She said she likes taking all the cheaper options first before rushing into expensive procedures and it works for me. She really seems to care about her patients AND their families! read more

I would most certainly recommend anyone NOT take their animal to this vet clinic. I took my 13 year old yorkie Gizmo (My best friend) to them back in March as he was having difficulty breathing. They gave him an exam and told me he had an enlarged heart and gave him medication but told me not to worry and that he could easily live for a couple of years without issue and that it wasn't an emergency. I told them he struggled badly with needles and asked that they not stick him in any way. The next thing I know my dog is screaming at the top of his lungs as they drew blood without my permission. I sat in the waiting area, my heart shattered by his screams for help, tears rolling down my face because I had let him be hurt, but I was ecstatic that the issue wasn't life or death.. A day and a half later at about 10pm, Gizmo began breathing very heavily and you could audibly hear him breating fluid. I called and drove him to an emergency vet at 100mph only to be told that he was beyond saving and had to be put to sleep. That was the night that my world was shattered. I sat there with his lifeless body, apologizing to him that I had let him down. I had let him endure unnecessary pain having his blood drawn because I was told he would easily live another couple of years. Had I know my dog only had a day or so to live I would have made those days beyond special for him. This dog was my life, my best friend, and a completely unacceptable misdiagnosis led to his suffering and ultimately death. I wrote Raynham Vet Hospital two emails explaining the situation and how upset I was only to be ignored. The only call I got from them was from a receptionist trying to schedule an ultrasound or something on his lungs a few days later. If you value your dogs wellbeing, do not take them here, it will only lead to pain, suffering, and heartbreak. read more

We have had Raynham Vet for years and years, but try to get in for an emergency and forget it. My poor baby had a terribly infected foot, I called right when they open on Sat morning, but immediately was told no openings till next week. My dog could be dead by then???? This is the3rd time it's happened so I think it's time for a new vet. I love Dr. King, and maybe she's unaware of what goes on, but I can't, in good faith, recommend this clinic. They told me they were closing in 20 minutes and I'd have to make a future appointment. Raynham Veterinary is fantastic. I absolutely give a total thumbs UP!!! Unfortunately I had to have my pet euthanized this year and they were wonderful, patient and kind. Unfortunately I have not been back to the clinic with my other pets because I was unable to get evening appointments. I was devastated to find out that they didn't schedule in the later evening (5:30 and after), because I loved this vet. I am seeing another vet now, but if they were to have evening hours, I would RUN back to this clinic. I still think they are the best around. read more

I want a vet who is willing to hear from a long-time client, understand the need, and be willing to help when the request is reasonable. Instead, I was quoted policy, spoken to rudely, and hung up on: My dog was late for his annual appointment by one week. I called to make an appointment and was scheduled for their earliest available date (4 days later) I asked if I could pop in for a tech to administer the kennel cough nasal spray so my pup could continue to attend doggy day care. I was told that they would not give him his kennel cough until they could see him for his yearly appt. because that was their policy. I was dumbfounded! I do not feel that this decision was in the best interest of my dog, his safety, or his health, so I found another vet who was more than willing to help. Their receptionist, Courtney, was incredibly rude and had zero interest in helping me figure out a solution that would work for my pet. Definately not someone who should be on the other end of a customer service line. I cannot in good conscience recommend this Veterinary Clinic to any friend or anyone looking for a vet who will care for your pet as much as you do. read more

I recently brought my 7 1/2 week old boxer for a new puppy check up. When I arrived I gave them my paperwork from the breeder and told them King had recently received a shot and had his first preventative worm treatment. The receptionist was very friendly . She took my info and made copies to give to the vet Dr. Reamsnyder. When Dr. Reamsnyder came into the treatment room with a needle my wife and I both started telling her that the breeder just took him to have a shot and we were told he doesnt need one right now. She told me its a different shot... I asked her to look in the book i brought to make sure...she said she doesn't have to because the one she's giving him is definitely different. I didn't push the issue because i trusted that she knew what she was doing. Well when I got home I looked at the receipt from this treatment and was upset to see that it was the exact same shot he just had... He is not due for that shot for 3 more weeks! The poor baby was up allll night with explosive diarrhea . I went back and told them what had happened but Dr Reamsnyder was not in. The Vet that was working was very concerned and polite. She prescribed anti diarrhea meds but could not give me any answer as to how this could happen. There are only 2 ways this could happen. 1. Dr Reamsnyder (who i later found out is the OWNER) .. gave the shot knowing it was the same shot but proceeded because she wanted to make the money and is a fraud. ( I am trying to give benefit of the doubt that this is not the case. ) OR 2. Dr. Reamsnyder was careless to the point that she wouldn't even check the paperwork her own office photocopied and put in the chart... AND what makes that worse is that we asked her to please check because we were concerned and she was STILL careless enough to not check even when I had it in my hand... offering . Now let me say nobody is perfect and mistakes happen , but this was SO avoidable it absolutely never should have happened. Imagine if a double dose was toxic enough to kill my baby boxer?? Do you trust someone THAT careless with an important decision or advice with your pet??? I thought that everyone from reception... to the tech,,, and even the Vet were all polite and friendly but what good is that if the Vet you're supposed to trust with your new family member is careless. I may stay with Raynham Vet hospital because honestly everyone else seems great but most definitely will not let Dr Reamsnyder near my dog. ****UPDATE*** 7/19/13 WOW Just spoke with Dr. Reamsnyder. She states she has NO MEMORY of our conversation about King already having the shot!!!!. (it was 1 day ago) She doesn't remember that I stopped her with needle in hand and offered to show her the paperwork to make sure it wasn't the same. And she cant explain why she didn't see it in the paperwork that her own secretary handed her . I reminded her that my wife was there and she remembers... her technician was there and she remembers... Her secretary swears she put it in the chart. The Dr still denies remembering. She then tried to cover up with an excuse...saying its normal to give a 7 1/2 week old puppy 2 shots in a week when they are supposed to 1x per month! In the end she apologized but obviously its an empty apology. I wonder how many pets have suffered or will suffer under her care. If you do decide to bring your pet here ... Everyone is great... but avoid Dr Reamsnyder to avoid this type of issue. (or worse). read more

Large waiting area with two benches for sitting and I never wait long when I'm there. The pet portal to retrieve information, get an appointment and buy products online is a nice touch. read more

You could go to Petco in Taunton on Saturday morning and spend $17 for a Rabies vaccine plus $3 medical waste disposal fee or go to Raynham Vet. Hospital and spend $60 for a "comprehensive exam", $42 for blood work, $25 for a Rabies vaccine plus $5 waste disposal. Maybe this place is great if you have a sick animal or using the boarding services but if you simply need vaccines, look elsewhere. I will say the staff were all very nice. read more
