Overall experience was ok. She was nice and had a clean atmosphere. No additional seats inside shop. Easy shop to locate. She is friendly, good customer service. The bad: Cut length off but not bulk. Using her straight edge razor, I received multiple cuts on the back of my neck. I've been to a barber +10 times from different barbers and never been cut before. This was a first and it's pretty bad. Overall experience: Not thrilled. Will I give it a second chance? Sadly, no. Thank you anyway. I'm sure she's great for others and their style, but I'll try elsewhere. I have been getting my haircut from Ranae for the past 4 years and as long as I am in the PNW I will continue to get my haircut from Ranae. She's got a gorgeous corner space in the Mosaic Salon building that looks out to the street. Unlike any barber I have ever been too, the chair is a restored vintage chair that is alarmingly comfortable. As far as haircut quality- she knows what she is doing... classically trained but very relevant and up to date on trends. On top of all of that- Ranae is an adventurous golden soul and I enjoy all of my conversations with her. 5/5 would recommend to my friends! read more

I've been going to Ranae since 2011 for monthly haircuts. From a full shave to consistent fade, I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good haircut in Kirkland. My hair always looks good when I leave and the grow out is always even and looks good for a whole month+. I mostly have her fade my sides from and lately fade my beard down. Fancier shops do more grooming on the face, but you pay twice as much. This is a good haircut for a fair price in Kirkland. read more

OK - I honestly don't know how she's gotten such good reviews. My experience was not good. The space was nice, she seems quite nice and I think did try, but beyond that I find it difficult to find anything more positive to say. My haircut was pretty bad. In my opinion she had no idea how to cut my hair. No idea of hair style. Given the time/effort vs results. a simple crew cut would have been 10times better. She cut my ear with the clippers (which others here also seem to have experienced). She was going off about my prior haircut, my cowlicks, my etc.etc. every excuse, except the obvious one: that she didn't know how to cut my hair. In the end she basically said, in a few weeks it will look better! My search for a local stylist that know how to give a great men's cut continues.. read more

Fantastic barber. Wonderful lady. Great first time experience. Her place is located on the corner. Through the glass you can see a little barbers pole swirling and one an amazing brown leather and chrome barbers chair along with her assortment of high end barbers tools of the trade. I had messed up my hair and went to Ranae for a fix. She fixed my hair with a beautiful fade that looks and feels incredible. She was quick, professional, funny, and well priced. I was passing through town on a road trip and needed a cut. She did a great job, her studio was nice, and she's very friendly.

It was a pleasure getting a hair cut and a straight razor shave from Ranae. She listened to my mostly vague requests and made sense of them and gave me a really good hair cut. Her shave however was a real delight, I felt pampered and relaxed with the hot towel and the facial massage.
