Great spot with traditional barber feels and practices! I've been going here almost 1.5 years and appreciate the traditional barber environment that's consistent. There's usually 2-3 barbers working so I haven't experienced much of a wait. They'll do hot neck shaves, hard parts, and beard trims. They never rush my haircuts and they are very attentive to detail. I have yet to find a comparable barber (price and quality) in this area. We used to live around the corner but moved further away and I'll still do the drive to come back here. Please note they are cash only, but there's a couple ATMs within walking distance, so that's not an issue. read more

The relationship between the barbershop and the customer is truly based on the relationship between the barber and the customer. This place continues to lose the barbers on a weekly or a monthly basis. They list all of their original great barbers within weeks then hired mute to continue to lose them again. This is not normal. TLDR: Do not come here if you have curly hair, or want anything besides a comb over. Pics of what I asked for vs what I got are included. I showed reference pictures of my own hair and described how I'd like it cut but the barber cut my hair completely differently despite feedback. I asked for short with scissors on the side twice and the barber only asked if I want length 1,2 or 3 with clippers. He said let me show you a 3. I figured he meant how short a 3 would cut but he began to cut my hair with clippers. The barber also cut my hair shorter in front than I had asked for, and brushed my hair while drying it. During Covid, my wife learned to cut my hair, and she has been doing it every since. She's been out of state though for a few weeks taking care of family, and I needed a hair cut. I no longer have a regular barber or hair stylist, so turned to Yelp. Thank- you Yelpers for the recommendations. I am an older gent, who wears his hair long. This is a traditional men's barber shop and was just what I needed, as they do both long and short hair (so many places seemed like they just do buzz cuts now). I walked in around 3 pm on a Tues, and saw they had 3 chairs and 3 barbers (2 men, 1 lady), but only 1 customer at that time. They sat me right away with the lady barber. ( so sorry I forgot her name, but she was Asian). She spoke for about 5 min, letting her know it had been a month since my last hair cut and that I just needed the back shorted and the sides blended it. She understood and she started cutting using scissors. She did a great job, cutting things just as I asked. She also did a warm shaving crème and straight razor shave of my neck, then a little neck massage and a warm towel - very nice way to finish the haircut. Came in with long hair that I've been growing for over 4 years. Chose them because of the high rating. I will admit I was apprehensive because I usually haven't been happy with short haircuts. I've come to realize this is because I'm the one telling the barber what to do rather than showing them some pictures and giving them the reins. This is an old school style barbershop. First come first served, gentleman's magazines on the table, baseball on TV. Classy interior as well, they take care in making sure things are clean and looking new. I was up in Juanita on a kitchen remodel job and we ran out for a bite. The homeowner told us about a sushi shop in Juanita. We stopped off and made our order to go. Walked outside and I noticed a barber shop with an American flag outside. That always gets my attention. I walked in and asked how long. 5 min he said. I waited outside. He came and got me and walked me in. The place is immaculately clean. There were only two barbers working, and 3 gentlemen waiting. I hopped in my seat and told him what lengths to cut. Really easy for me, high and tight. He started cutting and I watched tv. No talking from anyone. He asked a few questions and kept going. At one point he put a hot towel on the back of my neck, sown shaving cream and then brought out the straight razor. Some soothing lotion and no itch or burn. He did a fantastic job. Hair turned out great. This has to be the best cut I have ever had. I'm used to don't my own or going to Great Clips. He asked if I wanted a beard trim but the sushi was ready and I was out of time. Tried out this shoppe, close to downtown Kirkland and in a neat little strip mall. Went at 1 on a Wednesday afternoon, completely empty. Just before the afternoon rush told by my barber (JR). Great cut and great atmosphere. JR was super helpful and inviting. I even chatted a little with another barber (Joe) who was chilling in his chair right next to me. I have been going to this barber shop for about 2 years. I have been meaning to write a review for awhile. They are absolutely perfect. I have gone to so many places for my hair over the years and they truly do an amazing job. I have gone to places like Gene Juarez, Rudy's barber shop, Weldon's and several other places. They do better than these places in my opinion and the cost is good compared to the other places. I am a male and my hair is not extremely complex but it is complex enough where you can definitely mess it up. Everyone at this barber shop does a great job, so I have not even had to pick a particular barber to routinely cut my hair. I always look at my hair and am so satisfied at the end. In the old days it would be hit or miss but this place is consistent and listens to what you want. They even give you a scalp massage at the end which is very nice. They also use a straight edge when needed like behind the neck which makes it look extreme clean and lasts longer. Thanks guys! read more

Thank you, thank you, Barber Shoppe! We have been trying to find a good spot to get my son's hair cut and went to a different shop. Came out of the other spot with a tragic result. Knowing that we had to fix this, we called the Barber Shoppe and they took my son in straight away, understood how it was supposed to look, blended the fade into the hair beautifully even with my son's fine hair, tidied up his edges and trimmed the front to how it should have been. I have been going to this place for years. Historically, you could walk in and have any of the three barbers provide an excellent haircut. Not the case anymore. The newer barbers are not the quality for $45 haircut. My last 2 of three haircuts have been terrible. Unless you know what barber to go to, I'd think twice in shelling out $45. It is possible that some may have a different experience based on what barber they went to but the shop itself should have a quality standard for all. Also, if cash is required for the service you should say so before the haircut not after and have to force one to walk to an ATM. This is poor service. read more

UPDATE TO THE MANAGERS REPLY: i have never received a woman's haircut, the shop advertised women's and mens haircuts so i thought a TRIM would be doable for my 4 1/2 inches that i had on top, i also get my hair cut short often so it wouldn't have been such a big deal EXCEPT this man shaved with a 1 guard on one side of my hair and the other side only received a trim so they were completely different lengths, they didn't even touch the back of my head resulting in different lengths on ALL SIDES he didn't blend or even try to make my side burns the same length. this shop advertises services they are NOT equipped to do. again i wish i could give gero stars. and to add he tried to charge me a separate barber had to step in and tell him he couldn't charge me for this haircut the one cutting my hair on the other hand tried TWICE to get me to pay and the other barber only stepped in when i was crying. this was an awful experience and this shop had some of the best reviews in Kirkland so i was shocked by their skill level. super disappointing and upsetting that they would falsely advertise something and then knowing they couldn't do the cut still said yes they could when i asked them if they could do what i was asking and told them EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED DOWN TO THE T ( which a trim is something EVERY hair person should know how to do) read more

Do not go here!!! The quality of barbers they hire keep getting worse and worse. I was forced to buzz my own head for the 1st time in 10+ years after a horrendous haircut from here. Now I have to explain the buzz cut by telling everyone how bad this place is. NEVER going back again!!! I will add that the ownership was very responsive and professional. While I seem to have less and less of it as the years go by, the 'do still needs a little upkeep once in a while. I started coming here years ago when it was Bitz barber shop and old Mr. Bitz was running the show. It was always a family operation, friendly classic barber shop, and has now morphed into something newer and more modern. However, they retained the old friendly feel, while adding new barbers over the years. They take good care of me, and keep me looking good. No easy task. Never let a bald dude cut your hair. I've been here a few times out of convenience due to COVID and someone different has cut my hair each time. Every cut has been decent but nothing great and certainly with very little attention to detail. Today I got the (almost) bald guy and I can fairly say he absolutely butchered my hair. I gave him specific instructions, fade the sides but not so short that I can see the skin, cut x amount off the top etc. Instructions were completely ignored, I have basically no sideburns anymore, and every part of the top of my head is a different length. Yesterday, I went to THE BARBER SHOPPE for the first time with my hair like a crow's nest and a bad mood, the hair salon was quite crowded with customers, the staff was extremely busy. Fortunately for me, after many minutes of waiting, I was greeted by a barber named Denny who was very cheerful and courteous. After a few words of exchange, he began to take care of my crow's nest hair. With adept workmanship and meticulousness, I suddenly realized that I had a beautiful hair. Just had my sons hair cut their. He got a trim and a beard trim. A bit pricey ($40) for less than 20 minutes of work. I thought he would get his hair washed, I guess they dont offer this service. I have been going here regularly for over a year now. Usually the barbers do a great job and I have had my hair cut by a few of them with satisfaction. However I went in a few weeks ago and there was an older guy with white hair I hadn't seen before, figured he would give a great cut since he had "experience". The guy didn't even wet my hair and the whole thing seemed extremely rushed. Figured he was just fast and that's how he cut hair so I smiled and payed him (even tipped $5) but when I got home and took a shower I realized he gave me probably one of the worst hair cuts I have ever had. Just completely choppy and uneven (the hair in the middle of my head was shorter than the back in sections neckline not clean etc) I went to visit family back east and fortunately my aunt cuts hair and she fixed me up. Lesson; there are good barbers here and if you like how one in particular cuts your hair remember their schedule. read more

Great spot, great haircut. It's $30 for a haircut. I think it is well worth it. The guys are all pros, the place is nice and well taken care of, and they do thing right, the professional way. I would way rather pay more to go here and get a good haircut from people who take pride in what they do vs. going to a lousy chain where the employees are disgruntled, and the take no pride in what they do or the facility. Got a great beard trim from Jerry. My wife approves so that's the real test. Jerry's been cutting hair for about 50 years. He talked me though what he was doing and did a great job. So this shop has been here forever and there isn't one review? Yelpers, you are slipping. Okay, so I live in the Juanita area and happen to be extremely picky about my hair. I've gone to other shops in the area, including Touch of Class in Kirkland, which is a great little shop. When I moved into this area I started looking around and if there is one thing Juanita does NOT have a shortage of, it's people that cut hair. I took a chance and went into the Barber Shoppe because well....I'm a man and that is where men should go to get their hair cut in my opinion. Stepping inside, you are immediately comfortable. It looks like a barber shop, it smells like barber shop, and they have people doing sports on the TV sometimes....you know, people putting thing in the thing and scoring points? Right. Anyway, I've gone here a dozen times and have received haircuts from at least 5 different barbers. These guys are open every day and they seem to have an endless supply of barbers. This can be a bad thing if some barbers suck and some don't, but I haven't received a subpar haircut since I've been coming. My preference is to get Payam or Michael to cut my hair because their tapered haircuts are fantastic in my opinion. They offer face shaves and unlike some barbers, they actually seem competent with their razors and the wonderful process that comes with getting a straight razor shave. In fact I am going to get one this morning along with a haircut for my birthday. This place can get busy and parking can suck a little, but more often than not I'm able to get in without a wait and I live close enough to walk. Their prices are a bit spendy, especially if you are used to paying 10 bucks for a barbershop haircut elsewhere. I pay for the constancy, the atmosphere, and the convenience. They do offer military discounts of about 5 bucks off your haircut, which I use every time. Ive been to Payam a few times and I still have to ask every time. He remembers my haircut but not that I'm in the military. To offset the discount, I make sure and tip my barbers accordingly. This place has my highest recommendation. If you can afford it, give it a shot, and honestly if you are looking for a haircut in Juanita, you are probably driving a Lexus, so quit being a cheap asshole and come and get yer hair did! read more

Horrible customer service. I walked in and the place had a few people waiting. I asked if I need to get a number they said no. I asked who the last guy was, great I'll be after him I need two spots. The barbers said ok it will be about 30-40 min. I told them ok will be back sense the place didn't have enough seats to wait. Walked to Starbucks and came back. The last guy was on the chair getting a hair cut. A chair became available and the barber didn't say anything and took someone else. So I asked who is next, sense I thought that would be me. The barber is like well I didn't tell these new guys you were waiting. And started to make excuses. Told the guy that's way I asked you when I walked in. No excuses for horrible customer service. Very accommodating, at times they are too busy, however if you are out for top notch service then one must wait at times. However I would like to point out that Dean (my barber) goes out of his way to meet my time constraints and even stays late at times, which is very accommodating.
