I am from Chicago originally and over the last 8 years have gone from local barber to barber trying to find a spot for my son and I with little success. I honestly have no idea why I haven't written a review for Weldon since I have been coming here for over 10 years. While I mainly go to this store, I have been to many others including Spokane. I have always found that the haircuts are always the same and I have confidence that no matter which store I visit I will always have the best results. I even started my son coming here when he was 10 and they even have a father and son pricing package. I enjoy that the staff is always friendly and I always feel comfortable and special when I get my hair cut. I've enjoyed coming here, but today I left unsatisfied. Granted I've never seen the guy who cut my hair before, and he was super friendly and did so well with customer service. The cut I asked for didn't meet expectation. My hair is uneven in certain places and it really stands out. The price paid doesn't match the promised quality(for this one cut). Due to an event I have to work, I will have to find a different barber to touch it up to make it look slightly more presentable (I almost tried cutting it myself after). My first visit was about a month ago. I was able to walk in and be seen. Victor had an opening and I could not have been happier with the results. Victor was so easy to talk to and laid back. He kept me laughing and smiling the whole time. I showed him a single picture of what I was wanting... he asked a few follow up questions... and the end result was spot on. He also showed me how to shape my beard properly. Today was my second visit and Victor did not disappoint. He remembered the specifics of the cut without asking any clarifying questions. I have been going to Weldon for a little over a decade now. Like any salon or barber, you figure out who "your person" is and you consistently go to see them. But if you urgently need a trim and your stylist is not available, then you take a chance by seeing a stranger that works at Weldon. Yes, risky...but in the past when I did this I could rely on a certain level of Weldon quality regardless of who was cutting my hair. I no longer think that this is the case at my local Weldon. I went in recently to see someone new, and got one of the worst haircuts I've ever had in my life. So not only do I have to wait for my hair to grow back, but I'm going to need to spend more money somewhere else to fix my strange haircut. I think Weldon used to be more of an upscale place where all of the barbers had really good skills. I would not expect a Supercuts level haircut at a place like this. But that is the risk these days. Short review: - Got a great haircut - Jet was able to translate vague statements and gestures into an idea of what I wanted my haircut to be like - Learned how to apply styling clay properly - Learned something practical about a hair dryer - Talked about weird cars (like Thor from the Ukraine) Now with a tiny amount of detail: I'm sure the other barbers/stylists at Weldon Barber are also top-notch, but I can specifically say that Jet did a great job on my haircut and I learned a few things. I learned a proper application of styling clay and I learned that you can use the cool setting on a hair dryer to make your hair stay in place instead of just using it to cool your head down when it's hot outside. He's also incredibly personable and relaxed. I can be chatty but I'm terrible at small talk. Jet just talked like a normal person. Some barbers/stylists sound like they are going through a script. Any person who cares enough to pay someone to cut their hair will do themselves a favor by booking an appointment for their next haircut with Jet at Weldon Barber in Kirkland. Unprofessional and made us feel like it was our fault, we were wrong. Sad, we heard such great things. We won't be returning. My husband went into today, didn't get who he booked for. Then two barbers argued infront of him on how to cut his hair. Which is very unprofessional, then they proceeded to blame me for booking the wrong appointment. No business should blame their customers. Morgan didn't even show him his cut or asked him if he liked it. We were a nuisance and they seemed to want us out of there. I recently moved back to the area and needed to find a new place for haircuts (and beard trimming once that's a thing again) since my dude at my old spot has moved on. A friend recommended Weldon Barber and I found one only minutes away from my house. I love how easy they make it to book online and the contactless pay option. I've seen Alyssa a few times now and she does a really great job, has great convo without overdoing it and remembered me on my second visit (I consider that an amazing feat since I'm wearing a mask covering most of my face). I also really like their barber chairs. They're comfy and look nice. I've been places where the chairs are beat up and not comfortable but that's not the case here. Comfy. To. The. MAX. The staff is friendly and the prices seem congruent with other local barber shops although you can see a slight difference from stylist to stylist. While the staff is usually pretty good, and the quality of cuts is pretty good too. I've been disappointed with the service they constantly promote of 'come in anytime for a neck trim'. A couple times I have tried that only to be told they have no time to fit me in and to come back another time. Just yesterday I can in around 6PM after work. And I'm in a vanpool, so it has been somewhat difficult to find the time. And they told me they didn't have any space to do a (5 minute) neck trim and that I needed to come back another time. But I can't schedule a neck trim, it is walk-in only. So that is why I'm a bit frustrated as a customer. They have expensive prices, which based on staff and haircuts would justify that. But on the other hand, I don't like the run around of telling me and promoting a service offering of neck trims, and then I come by and am happy to wait 10-20 minutes to be slotted in - saying no, come back some other time. The whole round-trip cost me about 25 minutes of time, totally for nothing. And it has happened like 3 times over the last 2 years. read more

Since I moved here, I have been playing the hairstylist/hair salon roulette game. Most of the time it has worked out fine. Though there have a been a couple clunkers and a Van Gogh incident even. Talking and cutting hair sometimes doesn't mix I guess. I decided to take advantage of a Groupon promotion that Weldon was offering. They have four locations in the Seattle area, though none in Bellevue. I decided to head over to the Kirkland Parkplace location for my hair appointment. To schedule appointments, you can book online or give them a call. The Groupon specifically said to call which is what I did. Though I used the online booking tool as reference of times available. Prior to your appointment, they offer you a drink of your choice which is a nice thing. Waiting area is quite comfortable. Once the stylist was ready, I headed to the hair station. I like that the station setup has walls and is a bit more private which is a change from the open feel of most hair salons. I got the Weldon Signature cut ($36) which consists of a hair cut, shampoo, hot face toweling, neck shave, scalp massage, styling and detailing. I wanted to get a spruced up summer look and for the most part I got it. It didn't seem like there was much haircutting done, but I liked the look nevertheless. I do like the additional extra services that come along with the Signature cut. The hot face towel was nice and the scalp massage was an interesting but good experience. The treatment does really go deeply into the scalp, so much that I could smell it for hours after my appointment. Which is fine since I really like the smell of the scalp treatment that they use. I don't think that I have found the one hair salon that I want to put a ring on it with yet. However for the price point, Weldon Barber is a good option given the many services they provide with each haircut compared with similar hair salons. read more

So I've recently moved to the area, and been to three different barbers already. I have particular requests for somebody that offers a razor fade, and each of the other places said they did it, and then once I sat down in the chair only razored the lower back of my neck. And also charged anywhere from $40-$60. Now I understand that the Seattle area has a higher COLA, and I have no problem paying that if the service is up to par. But I'm not going to pay Seattle prices for basic service, and what I got from Jet at Weldon Barbers was top notch service. He took the time to fix others mistakes, give me a mean bald fade, and an awesome neck and head rub, plus hair wash. I've found my new hair dude, and if you're looking and are in the Kirkland, WA area you should hit Weldon up and ask for Jet too. read more

Weldon Barber is located in the Parkplace Shopping center of Kirkland. The store has a modern feel to it and a nice waiting area with comfortable seating and a large screen television. The waiting area is nice; however, being you spend most of your time away from this getting your haircut takes away part of the glory of it. The location provides water, coffee or tea upon arrival. In the past other locations also offered juice and sodas; however, this appears to be no longer offered. For the price of $34 for the most basic hair cut you can receive, it is of a slightly less competitive value for a mens area cut for the area. This location sadly used to do heavy coupon and Groupon marketing so perhaps now when you pay there high prices it just feels like less of a value. The haircut was good and the personality of my stylist was nice; however, to be honest it is kind of hard to mess up on a basic guys haircut. The checkout process took an extended amount of time due to the stores computer not working. From the conversations with the staff it appears this is an ongoing issue. To the business owner, this is a major disservice not only to your customer but also to your staff. It would be nice to see the company upgrade their technology for their staff to match the high end look they are going for. In today's society all you need to do is buy an iPad and use Square for payment, walk the guest over to the waiting room you have invested in and provide "mobile" check out there. I would return here again if in a last minute crunch again; however, based on price, there is nothing that would make this place stand out as one to go out of my way to return to or recommend to others. I have been a customer of Weldon Barber in Kirkland for many years. I was still a customer even after their move to what I consider to be the worst location in Kirkland. Terrible parking lot, so hard to park and so tough to even get out of the parking lot which was such a huge downgrade from their previous location at Park Place. While I do understand their need to move due to the construction of the new shopping center, I think , they could have chosen a better location. Despite it all, I continued to go because I had to wonderful stylists that were cutting and coloring my hair. So, depending on my schedule, one of them see to be always available. Few weeks ago I was surprised to find out that both of them were moved to the Bellevue location. I did not even know they were opening another location ..?? I was trying to book online with one of them for a week and I could not see their names on the available schedule but their names were still listed ono the website, so after wasting so much of my time, I sent a message to the manager or the owner and I get a message back that both of them were relocated to Bellevue. well, thank you for the advance notice..?? I live in Kirkland and I work in Kirkland, and while I truly appreciate both of the hair stylists , I just don't have the time to drive to Bellevue for a hair cut. When it comes to a hair cut and coloring, it could take the hair stylist some time to figure out the best cut and the best way to color the hair since everyone is different. So, without any advanced notice, I scheduled my hair cut and hair coloring with another hair stylist who was extremely nice. However, the service was truly the worst. Five days after my appointment, the coloring was 90% gone, I did not get my neck shaved which is part of the hair cut that I get all the time . I don't blame the hair stylist as much as the management and the owner. When it comes to such a transition where you are constantly moving stylists around, you need to notify he clients in advance and if to choose another stylist then he or she will have the time to talk with the previous stylist to have a good understanding about the service provided. When I spend on an average 125.00 a visit at your store and many customers do, then you need to have a better follow up system. My last visit was a waste of time and waste of money. Unfortunately, it will be also my last visit. After being a customer for years, I do expect a better service. We just don't have the time to waste and I am hoping that Weldon will understand the real value of each customer. When we pay premium for such a service, we will expect a better service. read more
