Pretty much all the food here is good but I usually stick with the breakfast burritos! They are all so good and my new recent go to is the Crazy one! The chorizo is delicious and adds a whole new flavor to the burrito! The staff is always nice and helpful and quick. I've only been inside to pick up my food but it seems very nice, clean, and inviting. This is not a fancy restaurant, more like what you'd get from a mom and pop place in LA or along the Mexican border. There is little sophisticated about the food, but it is made and served with gusto and in sufficiently large quantities to stave off hunger for quite a while. The guacamole is blended. The sauces are saucy and salty. The tortillas still greasy from the frier. But the selection of vegetables in many dishes- sweet peppers, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce, choices of shredded beef, chicken or pork in addition to the usual ground beef, and the fact that you can get chimichangas, enchiladas, or flan puts it in a category well above the usual Taco Bell. Most of the food is typical to what you'd find in many small Mexican restaurants, but the fact that they have a drive through and are open 24/7 is welcome for late night cravings. If they had better sauces, less salt, and less grease, they would be a solid four stars. They don't compete well with the likes of Costa Vida or Cafe Rio, but they do have more menu variety and are open late. read more

Really disappointing recently. I've gotten the carne asada burritos 4 times from here. First 2 times it was great and felt like 2 meals worth of food. Occasionally at 10-midnight, I crave my favorite all time comfort food: FRIES. There are several fast food locations around Provo that can supply one with curious fried potato bits. However, Rancheritos is the only place in Provo that can satisfy my hunger after hours. So, about once a week, I order these oily and artery clogging potato fries called "Carne Asada Fries". This meal comes with a good amount of meat, sour cream, and guacamole. And at your request, a spicy red or green sauce can be included on the side. I usually request the staff to cook my fries a bit longer to be just a little crispy. I do this as the fries are most often served a bit soggy soft. These fries are not the best fries I've ever had in my life but they sure are the best for when you have a craving at 10PM in Provo, Utah. Besides the Carna Asada Fries I regularly order tacos or the California Burrito. I haven't tried anything else on their menu for more than 5 years but most of it is OK. Also, since Rancheritos took up residence in their new location on Bulldog the quality of their food has gone up. Which is great because I used to get an upset stomach from their food when they were located on State Street. Ugh! I just wanted one of their huge burritos. I came here last night, ordered my regular breakfast burrito. The issue with Rancheritos is that the sizes are sooo inconsistent. Some days I feel like I won the lottery. Other days I feel totally ripped off. Last week I ordered the same burrito. It was perfect. Huge, greasy, great ratios, great salsa bar. ( the only issue that visit was 2 separate homeless individuals were hanging around very closely as if they were waiting for me to give them money or my leftovers) This week I come in and the burrito price increased. I was like whatever, it's fine. The extra 50 cents is worth it. Buuut, when they called for me I was so disappointed it was half the size of the last burrito I got here. And the ratios were so off. 5 stars for their bowls and being open 24/7. It's a chain but it's also pretty authentic taqueria food, not the bomb but very solid. The $4.50 bowls are the highlight for me though. Good al pastor or carnitas, very filling, good for an inexpensive healthy meal on the go. Also love the veggie bar with real guac, carmelized onions and pickled carrots, and you can just grab a water cup for yourself at the register. Very civilized. Ordered a favorite super fries carnitas but they mixed in carna asada and tried to hide it under the toppings so gross!!! Then a few weeks later I order 2 ham breakfast burritos and get two disgusting burritos with old cooked leftover fryer potatoes in half of each burrito. Used to be my favorite place but i always drove through. On a bike now so i stopped in and decided to mix up what i usually get and got a mixed plate. The taco was grrat and if i was to ever come back would be considered (but i won't). I also got the enchilada which as itbturns out is a cheese enchilada and they dont tell you, and when you go complain they play stupid. So instead i just ordered a sausage burrito which us more potato then anything, i almost got Chorizo but I'm betting it would be dry. Now the mixed plate also comes with rice and beans and by that they mean 3/4s the plate is covered in beans with almost no rice at all, and the Horchata does NOT taste right at all to the extent i dumped amd got something else. Yeah needless to say I'm not coming back, guess now that they actually see me I'm to white to care about as a customer (even though I'm half Mexican) read more

I give every burrito spot a chance, but have never had one this bad. I have come here 4 times now. The first time I ordered a typical bean and cheese burrito. It was just beans. :( I ordered "extra cheese" the second time and it was the exact same as the first time. I thought maybe they didn't understand the hand writing of the cashier on the order slip. The third time was the same as the second, if not worse. The 4th time I added sour cream just to see if they could read the receipts. No sour cream, no cheese. Would give ZERO STARS if I could. Their meat must be expired because every time we go to this location we get FOOD POISONING! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!
