Went to El Ranchito for the first time on Tues for Taco Tuesday. The servers spoke Spanish and barely spoke English which I have no problem with. I figured they would know Mexican food. I ordered 3 street tacos. She asked what tortillas I wanted. I said uh oh. They dont know which tortillas were used for Street Tacos. I asked for corn tortillas of course. They actually didn't know what I was talking about. They ald o had no Carne Asade so I ordered ground beef. Thet came with large FLOUR tortillas? They really had no idea of what Street Tacos were. Went here for second time. Great Mex food, prompt and courteous service by our server Yulie. Had the Monday special steak fajitas with a side of chili Redlands. Too much food but very good. My wife had a chimichunga. Excellent Margherita $6.75 for two!!! Will be back. Plenty of parking. read more

This place comes with a warning for anyone you recommend to - This restaurant does need updating with that said - Came here for lunch and it was busy but the service did not show it. The menu is large wtih lots of items to select from as well as having a lunch menu available. Complimentary Chips and Salsa are served right after you are seated. Chips were nice and warm and the Salsa is mild not spicy. Ordered the Steak Fajita Lunch item with no tomatoes and peppers. The portion is a good size for lunch and served with Rice, Beans, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo and Guacamole. The Steak Fajita's had a good flavor to them and did not any additonal seasonings (salt/pepper) also served with choice of tortilla's served warmed. Guacamole appetizer this is large serving and goes well with the entree or complimentary chips. Not spicy and could of used maybe a tad of salt otherwise its tasty as is. Went here with a large group of neighbors for a night out. The place allows reservations, thus a group of 20 is not a problem. Our waiter, Wilber was phenomenal, taking drink orders first and having his assistant delivering chips and salsa to all of us. He then took individual orders , together with special tweaks to menu items due to personal preference and off he went to get the chefs started. In no time, food started to be delivered to each nd everyone of us, with the chip baskets being refilled and drinks also replenished. They had an entertainer playing piano, and singing opera songs and other familiar numbers. Was nice, but a little too loud to enjoy the restaurant ambience. This ended up being a great place to get decent Mexican entries at reasonable prices and prompt service. This may become our go to Mexican restaurant every few months. read more

This really is a hidden gem! Literally as well, it's tucked back from the main road with little noticeable signage. It's worth looking for though and I'm glad I found it. My platos favritos had all I could want. A burrito, taco, enchilada and a chalupa. I did ask for my taco to be al carbon, which was a great call. Tender and flavorful beef was devoured and I would have ordered plenty more if I hadn't already a giant plate of food I could barely finish eyeing me from the table. The most astonishing thing about this deliciousness was how little it cost. Lunch special was a mere $7.50. That is incredible value, especially given quantity and quality. We give an emphatic thumbs up to the restaurant and If this place were in my neighborhood I'd eat here every week. read more

We've been here before and thought we'd try it again. It was just "ok". Service and ambiance is fine, but the food didn't have as much flavor as we'd like. It was pretty bland. I had the taco salad...the bottom was wet with water (probably from the lettuce) and got a little soupy. I heard a table nearby complain about it to their waitress. Three of them got the salad and all were watery at the bottom. --Prices are good and the food came out with little wait time. --Margaritas are decent. I doubt we'll be back. :( read more

I came from Daytona beach. This is my first time here. Today is my birthday. I went there almost 10pm but they still very warm welcome. They gave me a dessert for my bd. All the food is awesome and very good quality. I was have a good time. Important thing is my server is amazing and so sweet. Really recommend this place. You should try. Poor rating is due to meal that was presented to me. I ordered the chili relleno plate w/ beans and rice. My chili relleno was fried batter with a filling of what looked and tasted like ground beef, cheese, one small piece of something green, Chili maybe??? No CHILI, I took two bites then realized no chili !!! I did not reorder my dinner. My girlfriend and I had ordered two coronas and two shots of silver tequila. We did not call out the specification of the tequila. We were expecting to get well drinks. When we got the bill they charged us $10.95 for each shot, what a rip off!! I questioned the waiter and he said that was the price, I couldn't believe it! Service was slow they were under staffed the server said. I payed the bill, but we will never return! read more

Okay, I went to the one in The Villages. First thing I noticed is what a filthy looking dump. I ordered chicken quesadillas. The cheese was not fresh grated cheese, it was some sort of processed food stuff like cheese whiz, for those of you who remember that, or Velveta. Two of the ladies in our group ordered Sangria and was barely drinkable like it had been watered down to stretch it out. One gentleman in our group ordered a Whiskey Sour. What a debacle. After numerous attempts to try to get it right, he finally just gave up and drank what he got. The others said their food was "okay". I'm from Colorado and I've eaten Mexican food in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and Mexico. This is not authentic Mexican food. It's some sort of disgusting knock off. Doesn't look like much on the outside. Food used to be great and service too but in the last month or so food quality is down, service is down, seems like the Margaritas aren't as good. Observed bar staff standing around instead of making sure food was out in a timely manner. Music on Taco Tuesday was good but a keyboard and singer for a Mexican bar was definitely a bust. Very unkept restaurant. We stopped here on a whim when we needed a quick mean. There were broken wall sconces and missing floor tiles. Typically this would be sign enough to not eat but we had hungry kids and were past dinner time. The dinner was rough, both my wife and I hardly ate it and we're just ready to go. They put what taste like sweetened store bought BBQ sauce on the chille relleno and then the sauce on the enchilada was even worse. It was bitter, unbalanced, and just lacking any care by a chef. We had a read many poor reviews, and almost didn't go. I'm glad that we did. Service was good, pretty prompt. Food did not take long, and the portions were large. We brought plenty home with us. The staff was attentive, and I couldn't ask for much more. One area for improvement will be their margaritas: they weren't terrible, they just weren't great. read more

We've been there several times over the past few years but this is the first time since the virus and the food as well as the service was lacking in both food taste and preparation. When brought to servers attention she was very short and when asked why a meal wasn't complete we were told that they were out of that item and it wasn't a large size portion that we should worry about when the item was on another plate at same table. The cheese enchiladas had nothing around them so we got a plate full of cheese and lettuce and was told this was a vegetarian plate and that it was heated at such a high heat that the castings disappears but they was there. PURE HOGWASH THIS IS THE START OF AN ENCHILADA RECIPE ( Cheese Enchiladas recipe - Corn tortillas filled with cheese, tomato sauce, chile puree and topped)NOTICE THE WORDS CORN TORTILLAS. JUST SAYING. And then When asked about the children's plate we was 1st told we never ordered it then was told it was still in the skillet and when it was brought out it was cold. We sent it back and the waitress threw it into a tub for dirty dishes (where the biggest part of the whole meal should have went). When we asked for the manager the Waitress who was rude replied. I AM THE MANAGER. Needless to say we won't ever go back. No deductions on meal no nothing. I would replace so called cooks as for not knowing how to cook Mexican food and would Definitely replace the person who thinks that being a manager gives them the right to be rude as well as making up stories about why food was improperly cooked and plated. If you want to continually support this manager send her to etiquette school as well as a few cooking classes on what meals look like and are made of. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants but our last order was terrible tasteless very disappointing

We ordered delivery Saturday and it arrived not only cold but was not the food we ordered. Tried to call but no answer, and GrubHub who delivered sent a note asking if all was ok and we wrote back that they sent chicken not beef and everything was cold. It was so bad it was not edible. Apparently this place used to be really good? Not sure what happened, but you can see the trend in others' review here. My parents have been going for a few years, and have liked it, but we went tonight and it was mediocre, both in service and food. Not the worst, but definitely not impressive. Relatively flavorless and weirdly sweet enchilada sauces, meh burrito, and nice but SUPER slow service. The 2-for-1 margaritas are your basic cheap mix (which I do like every once in a while!). I've seldom seen or experienced a worse Latin-food restaurant...I believe just about ANY Mexican restaurant in the area is better than El "Raunch-ito". We ordered several different items...none of which had any spice or heat, including the salty and bland salsa and BAGGED tortillas. Very inexpensive at lunchtime...but so is Taco Bell. read more

We've been here several times. Great homes made food. The chicken chimi is wonderful as are the burritos and tacos. When you are seated there are warm fresh chips and the best fresh salsa. The beer is cold and the staff is friendly and attentive. Great any time. read more
