5 Stars Fresh Jalapeño has become one of our favorite places! It's in a super convenient location for us since we pass it almost every week on our way to the scrap yard, so it finally made sense to stop in--and we're so glad we did. The 2-for-1 margaritas EVERY SINGLE DAY are hard to beat, but the real star is the food. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and the portions were huge. Every person at our table cleaned their plate! Now, if you know me, you know I usually eat less than half of my meal and take the rest home. This time I surprised myself--I ate all but TWO bites! That's about the best compliment I can give a restaurant. The service was absolutely top-notch. Our male server was tremendous--friendly, attentive, and he got every single order right the first time. He really made the experience even better. Approaching the restaurant at 12:45 we noticed a full parking lot. I have never seen so many vehicles here. Come to find out this is normal as this restaurant has become popular. Popularity comes from better than average food. This is a Mexican restaurant to state the obvious. There are many many Mexican restaurants nearby. So what makes this stand out. I had a ground beef chimichanga and it was very good. My wife tried a chicken bowl which was new to us in a Mexican restaurant. But it was excellent. We always get a side dish of guacamole to eat with chips. or supplement our entree and I recommend it. We added a little chorizo from the spice rack on every table. Hmmm Just thinking about it now. A sangria that was well prepared was enjoyed but had to remind our waitress to prepare it. That was the only hiccup because we enjoyed it very much read more

Sadly, I have to give a 1 star. I ordered through door dash. I picked no to rice, no to tomatos, no to lettuce Basically, I wanted enchiladas with cheese and sour cream and as a side I wanted beans. That's all I wanted. I end up getting everything I put no I didn't want and I got a double side of rice. I literally just got tooth surgery so I wanted what I ordered, because it would be soft. when I contacted DoorDash, didn't get my money back because it was delivered. I called the store and spoke to the manager and she said she would call me back in 5 mins, never called back. Rude. I waited until closing to post this. literally everything I asked for to be removed, was added. It made it where I couldn't even eat it and I basically spent $25 on something....I can't eat. UPDATE: 22 June 2026: About a year and a half since we ate at this restaurant; I had forgotten my earlier visit. As before, plenty of parking and good air conditioning. We returned because of AI recommendations saying this was the place to go for more robustly flavored food than one encounters inside The Villages. Well, tonight's experience was much more enjoyable than our first visit. The two of us had tasty margaritas, a bowl of chips (with regular red chili salsa, and some nice picante green chili salsa) and we started dinner. My wife ordered the beef fajitas again and this time I ordered the beef Flautas. Each of us thought this meal was superior! The beef fajitas were very tasty and accompanied by delicious, grilled onions and peppers. My Flautas were crispy and delicate. Each of our dinners was accompanied by Spanish rice, refried beans, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and queso fresco. We heard about this place on-line. It was what I expected. Decent prices on Taco Tuesday for our meals. I didn't count on a bowl of pozole to be $16. Dang, that ate up all my savings on the tacos, and it had bones in it that I had to pick out. I could have done without. Took most home. It was a large serving. Tried Fresh Jalapeño for the 1st time today, we had chips & salsa, street corn cup, à la carte steak taco, cheese quesadilla & al pastor street tacos. The salsa was good but not spicy at all, 7/10. Street corn was pretty good 7/10. My son loved his cheese quesadilla so I assume 10/10. Steak à la carte taco 7/10. Al pastor street tacos 5/10 the meat was extremely dry but rice & black beans were pretty good. Changed my street tacos out for cheese enchiladas with green sauce for to go... got home and they did not look good, it tasted worse. Unfortunately lost my $, should've just returned the original plate. But our server was very nice & the inside is cute. read more

First of all, let me say the margaritas are great and the food is incredible. Decoration of the restaurant is very nice. Very friendly staff very knowledgeable. I want to mention again that the food is great. !! One thing I would caution you on is if you go with a large party, they don't tell you, they automatically add 18%. I've been caught like that before and ended up paying almost 40% in some places because I didn't pay attention, now I do. When someone does add a percentage automatically that is all I pay normally I pay 25%+ minimum. But not in this case. Would recommend, just make sure you watch your check. read more

PLEASE make sure you count your change and pay attention to your card activity if you eat at FRESH JALAPEÑOS right inside lady lake. This is the 2ND time I have paid and they have tried to bring me change as if I gave them a 10 when it was a 20!!! The first time it happened, (almost 6 months ago) it felt very intentional, and it was a different woman. I felt that it had been long enough to where, If it was intentional, it probably wouldn't happen again at this point. I was wrong. This is something they are doing that is with intent. It's not only insulting, it's stealing. She tried to get me to use the machine at first to pay and I told her no and that I had cash and she still tried to pull this off. Upon looking at their google reviews, I am not the only one who has had this happen. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was not here. I was then given a card with no name on it. When I brought this to their attention, they just shrugged their shoulders. I asked who the owner was, and he told me Manny. I had to look up and find out for myself his last name which is TOVAR. I went back into the restaurant and asked when the manager would be in and he told me he was supposed to be in at noon. Then he said he wasn't sure if he was here or not because they're busy even though the same person had just told me he was not here. This is disgusting to me. I'm debating making a police report. I asked for the receipt and they gave me the initial receipt that was laid out in front of me, but they did not give me the receipt after I gave the cash. This is stealing. Thought this was a great restaurant. I guess I was wrong. Service and food were much below par. Waitress seemed very disinterested, not friendly, and brought us the wrong drinks. Food was not as substantial or tasty as on prior occasions. This restaurant allow dogs to sit inside while patrons eat. I find this disgusting. There is an outdoor seating where dogs could park themselves. Unfortunately, this restaurant will go off the list of ones. we enjoy patronizing. read more

The server was anxious to make certain we had time to order. We did have a question about the menu, unfortunately it was apparent she wasn't familar with what meat was in the Berrian calling it pork. Also stated she wasn't aware you could get mango in your ceviche. All minor things. My friends fish was going to take 30min to cook, which we said great, we can enjoy the ceviche 1st. We then found out you were out of mango. We got the ceviche, which was good, but then 2 min later, all our food arrived. Think it would have been a nicer experience if we were able to enjoy the appetizer before everything hit the table. Overall, food was ok, pretty standard fair. Atmosphere was nice, other than not knowing the menu, the wait staff was ok. I'll come back to see if food & experience the same. Definitely could be a great place versus soso. read more

We are from the SW, Colorado, Norther New Mexico and Tucson, AZ, and have been in The Villages, FL now for 12 years. We love great Mexican fare and Fresh Jalapeño has been the best we have found here. The service (Gabby/Gabriell) was excellent. And if you want to try something a step up - just ask her - she recommended their special salsa (warning - it is very tasty, but way on the hot side) and it was excellent. The ambiance? Very good - would equate it to a small southern AZ Mexican family restaurant serving home-made authentic dishes. read more

I ordered the taco dinner with ground beef, onions, and cilantro, and my husband ordered the fried tilapia whole fish. Both were exceptional and fresh. Had a very poor experience on almost every level. The guacamole and the queso dip were ample, and that's it for the good. If there was alcohol in any of our drinks we couldn't taste it, even my wife who is a lightweight. Service was slow and we were "entertained" by the staff's children running throughout the restaurant playing tag as we waited. Literally slamming into my booth a few times. Staff didn't say a word, either scolding the children or apologizing to the guests. This was about 5pm on a Sunday and there were maybe 5 tables of other diners, so apparently the word on this place has already gotten out and I missed it. The food was ok, but the portions were paltry. I almost always have leftovers, not here. There are better Mexican restaurants all around, we won't be back. It's a shame, too, the restaurant it replaced was quite good. read more

I briefly was inside and the restaurant surprisingly was not overly packed and was clean. My server I didn't catch his name but he told me the restaurant has a new owner. I ordered the seafood chimichangas. I wanted to try something new. They bring complimentary chips and salsa to your table. My bill was very costs efficient! We went to Fresh Jalapeño last Sunday with my Sunday golf group. I was a little apprehensive prior to going there because a friend of ours warned me and said the food was just so and not to get my hopes up. However, when we arrived, they had my reservation for 8. April was our server. Let me tell you she's funny with a great personality. She provided us with fantastic service. We asked her questions about different dishes and she gave her opinion of each dish we asked about plus she made recommendations based on what we liked. I ordered the fajita burrito. Coming from California, I expect burritos to be wrapped and folded like an egg roll. I call it tuck and fold and not wet so I can hold it. My burrito came out just like I had asked. We were all happy with what we ordered. Overall the experience was very pleasant. I would say that we certainly would go back again. BTW, the shrimp ceviche on the appetizer was $19 and we first thought it was too expensive until it came out. It was huge with a lot of shrimp so when you see that price, it's worth it. Really enjoy the food here. They have a great variety which includes items like sopes, meat in their rellenos, and ENORMOUS tortas! These items are not always in the menu in other local Mexican food restaurants. The service is good and they are friendly. Cute decore to go along with motif of the restaurant.
