Do not go to this from this company. I went to get a smog test to renew my tags, gave the man at the front desk my DMV tag renewal paperwork, and paid $50. Only to find out my vehicle did not need a smog test because it is a 2020 model. I returned to the company and told the same man that I was informed that my vehicle did not need a smog test. This man told me he gave me what I asked for and he has no way of verifying if my vehicle needed a smog test because the DMV does not specify for each vehicle. I told him according to the DMV that was not true and I was reporting him to the Better Business Bureau. Then he proceeded to follow me out of the building calling me dumb. George brought my ailing 1991 Toyota MR2 back to life. The compression in one cylinder was low and the engine was missing badly. Previous mechanic indicated that the engine should be rebuilt of replaced at a cost of 4 to 6 thousand dollars. George listened to the engine a few minutes and said I can fix it. The father had his teenage son working the front desk. The young kid was super friendly and responsible. When i needed to use the restroom the neighboring store let me use it. Again, another polite young man escorted me over there. They worked on my car promptly and gave us the paperwork with enough time to run across the street and settle our business with the DMV! I took my truck to a different smog place and the truck failed due to a idle issue. I took the truck to a dealer and they couldn't find any issues with it. I called around and was recommended to go to George's because of the year of the truck. I went there and they were immediately helpful and friendly. I didn't have any type of appointment and they still went out of their way to help me out. I found George's just by shear luck.... I had been at the DMV ALL morning long dealing with a Registration issue and was told that I needed a Smog inspection before they could issue my stickers. They told me there were 4 or 5 places across the street and to check with them and then come back within the hour to avoid standing in line... again. George's was the first place I saw and they were very friendly and welcoming. I asked if by chance they offered a discount for AAA and they gladly offered me a discounted rate. I really appreciated this as I am currently unemployed and every cent counts. After the inspection was done I asked if I could leave my car there while I ran across the street to finish up with the DMV and again... they stood out with their great customer service. They said "no problem", take your time. If you saw the parking lot at the DMV you would realize what a big deal and how helpful this was. I highly recommend these guys. read more

My husband and I have taken our cars to George's Auto Repair and Smog (it's next to the Temecula DMV) for a few years and I am always so surprisingly pleased with their service that I just had to let others know about them. I've had so many bad experiences with other repair shops that George's honesty and fairness in pricing is so appreciated. This past time, I took my car for a check engine light, smog, new brakes and a possible transmission leak. Not only did they solve my check engine and smog my car for a very reasonable price, but they were honest about my brakes (telling me that they just needed a little lubrication and didn't need to be changed at all), and they told my husband to use a little dye in the transmission to see exactly where it was leaking before we payed for a costly repair. Car repair bills never come at a convenient time, but I appreciate knowing that I'm getting what I pay for and not paying for anything that I don't.
