Van Avery was a lot like our extended family; as a working mother it was very important for me to have my children somewhere where I knew they were cared for and somewhere that understood our needs as a family. My children excelled in High School academically and socially because of the strong base they developed while at Van Avery, they were both challenged and encouraged. They developed confidence in speaking in front of people ( lots of practice) and they develop the skills to communicate effectively, essentially they became equipped to enter High School and take advantage of all it has to offer. My children have all graduated from college now and I do give credit in part to Van Avery for their accomplishments. My children and I built long life friendships with our Van Avery contemporaries and continue to share our lives with them. Enrolling my children at Van Avery Prep was hands down the best decision I made regarding my children's education.

All 4 of my children went to Red Hawk Elementary and I absolutely LOVE it! The school is small…read moreenough to where you feel like you're part of a family. The teachers are compassionate and engaging. They teach students independence and self advocacy, which in turn prepares them for the next stages in their education. There are tons of activities that incorporate families, such as lunch with a loved one, fall festival, and literacy and STEM nights. During all of our years at Red Hawk, our favorite principal by far has been Taylor Lundin. She is always present, greeting students in the morning and saying goodbye in the afternoons. She cares deeply about student and parent safety. She strives to ensure that all students have access to a top notch education, which is very important to my family! I have also watched as Mrs. Lundin has guided her intervention administrators into assistant principals, creating more opportunities for those individuals to grow! It's truly amazing to see. We moved to Temecula for its wonderful schools, and Red Hawk is no exception! I highly recommend becoming a Hero at Red Hawk Elementary!

I have mostly just dealt with Ms fuller and the nurse but they have honestly made my experience there wonderful. My son has been out sick and they have helped and care for my child beyond what I ever expected. If you want a small school, we're they actually care about you and your child, go here. Also my child is excelling in his education. He's excited to learn and begs to go back to school on the weekends. If I could say anything negative it would be about attendance. Saturday school is fun for the kids but they need to teach more educational material and teach what the student actually missed in class not just show a movie. My son who loves ms Fuller's class isn't too fond of Saturday school. Please do something more about that.

Just 4 miles from the historic town of Julian, this colorful school is visible from the busy Hwy and looks totally "old school." According to notfadeaway1.blogspot, "Spencer Valley School District is one of the last remaining one-school districts in San Diego County. The present one-room schoolhouse was built in 1905, replacing an earlier structure. Additional buildings in a complimentary style were added in 1987 providing modern facilities." That's so cool that the new additions kept the same look as the original. Get this: Spencer Valley School is a public elementary school with a student population of 30-35 children, in grades K through 8th grade. Any school with such a low amount of students is bound to get lots of individualized instruction from the teachers and / or teacher. I can't help but be charmed by this lovely school. 4 YELP STARS.

On his very first day, the principal called, saying he was crying for his mom and needed to be picked up--something completely normal for a first day. Instead of helping him adjust, they suggested getting an aide right away, without a diagnosis. The principal, new to the school, seemed more focused on proving herself than understanding my child's needs. I withdrew him, and he's now thriving elsewhere. I don't recommend Kids World. They care about money more than kids

We love the curriculum they have, even for 3-year olds. Lots of crafts, outdoor play, English/Spanish language development, and most importantly, Fun! I feel like my daughter is learning a lot for her age (numbers, alphabet, days of the week, colors, etc.). They have a company that comes weekly that offers dance and fitness classes (for an additional fee), which my daughter loves. My daughter loves her teachers (Ms. Sonia and Ms. Sarah), who are so patient, nurturing, and kind. We also have to give a shout-out to her former teacher, Ms. Rocio. We only had her for a few months in the 2-year old room but she left a soft spot in our hearts. She helped our daughter transition into her new school so well and gave plenty of hugs, when needed. I appreciate how informed I feel as a parent- they are quick to let me know of any concerns, situations from the day, or funny stories to share. I also feel confident in the safety of my child with their check in/out procedures, passcode secure door, and checking IDs of grandparents or other adults picking up kids. They're also very accommodating of kids with special dietary needs, like my daughter being lactose-intolerant (thanks Ms. Martha!) Thank you to everyone at Kids World, who play a huge part in shaping our girl into a smart, confident, and good little human!
