I want to give a feedback about Dr Diana J Chang ENT, I have preventative referral for thyroid 2022, but that Dr didn't do biopsy right for 1st time and 6 months later didn't process biopsy as follow up; now he retired. My primary doctor referred me to Dr Chang, she takes care me with respect and patience. Be sure my health plan covers all procedures before I visit her office. I got biopsy with her last week, today she called me about the good news. Results show no cancer sign. Which saves me a trip to go to her office because I don't drive. She also care about my health, so she will schedule me follow up in 6 months for sure. I really appreciate her thoughtfulness. Good specialist to trust. read more

Dr. MacEwan is amazing! I've been suffering from sinus issues for 7 years, and they've always been dismissed as allergies. I got a CT scan here and Dr. MacEwan explained the scan to me which was cool to see. My left maxillary sinus was fully opaque and needed surgery. I had never had surgery before, and was really worried and had tons of questions. Dr. MacEwan not only did amazing with the surgery (my recovery was way faster than I expected, I felt pretty much normal after 5 days), but was also very patient with all my questions and concerns! I'm also not a huge fan of having to rely on daily meds like nasal sprays, and she was understanding and willing to work with this. The staff at Rancho ENT are also very friendly and easy to work with! I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. MacEwan! read more

I don't recommend Jennifer MacEwan, Otolaryngology M. D. in Poway to have an ear, nose & throat exam. Her staff was friendly when I arrived but the hearing test was a frightening experience. The audiologist put head phones on me to do the test. The sound of my heart beating was so loud I couldn't hear the sounds. I felt like I was having a heart attack! She redid the test with ear plug instead. They took my blood pressure which was normally 120 but it had jumped to 167! Dr. MacEwan came in and yelled so loud it hurt my ears. She looked in my ears and found no infection. I told her I was constantly having ear aches and sore throats and I thought it was from cold weather so was wearing a cotton ball in my ears and a cap at night. I already knew I had mild hearing loss in my ears. She did not want to do a throat test but I insisted. She did a test through my nose and was very rough & found no infection. She was acting very rude to me. I asked her what I should do about my ear hurting all the time. She said in a very loud nasty voice: "wear the cotton balls & cap at night and get a hearing aid and wear it!!!" I have never been so upset after any visit to any doctor even when I was diagnosed with cancer. After thinking why, she would act like she did, it seems she wants to have patients who have very serious ear and throat issues and need expensive operations so I was a waste of her time. I never have good experiences at the doctor, and honestly, here I felt like a human and not just a patient. My first time here, there was a long wait time. My straightforward visit took almost 90 min. After they got me in they apologized for the wait and provided prompt care and honestly very thorough care. Afterwards the office manager reached out and again apologized and explained the unusual circumstances leading to the morning wait time. I'm very impressed with the attention to detail and service this office provides to their patients. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for an ENT. read more

I love Rancho ENT. I have been seeing Dr. McEwen since August 2019 when she treated me for a unilateral issue with my tonsil that required surgical removal . Not only was she so very attentive and professional, but her bedside manner is just amazing. I feel qualified to make that statement since I myself have been a nurse for more than 35 years. When I think of specialty physicians that I have encountered, she is at the top of the list- Dr. McEwen also treated me for eustachian tube dysfunction that required bilateral ear tubes, it was bittersweet today when she released me with no more follow ups. Dr. MacEwan was very thorough, however my mom is over 100 and her memory about a surgery 82 years ago was vague. Dr. MacEwan went way over and beyond by doing research and called to tell us more about my mom's surgery and hearing issues. I could not be more pleased with the treatments by the entire staff at Rancho Ear Nose and Throat. Dr Wadhwa is a lifesaver. First off, if you're looking for a doctor that prioritizes your care and is willing to come into the office to see you on Thanksgiving while his whole staff is off work for the holiday then he is the doc for you! He always greets you with a welcoming fist bump! I never thought someone could help me this much! I came to him with a ton of issues! I had a persistent bacterial sinus infection that was running me down for a long time. He got to the bottom of that on the first visit. He conveniently has a CT scanner in his office! He was able to see that my septum was deviated on both sides and my sinuses were compacted with infection. I had a hard time breathing so I needed surgery. I also found out that during surgery he discovered and removed large fungal balls in my upper sinuses that had been plaguing me for years and giving me tremendous face pain (rare).... On a side note-I had seen another ENT in San Diego years ago. I told that doctor that I thought I had a fungal infection. I was laughed at and made to feel embarrassed. He said that I was only explaining "boogers" ...come to find out I was right the whole time. Dr Wadhwa is an amazing surgeon! I was so scared for surgery because I had some previous facial reconstruction done as a baby. He was so confident and was familiar with the type of surgery I had before so I just knew I was going to be taken care of. The surgery center is top-notch! He prescribed me the right type of antibiotic for the bacterial infection, cleaned out all of the fungal balls and straightened out my nose. The bonus is I feel like it even looks better! The most important thing is I feel 100% again and when I recovered from surgery I could breathe like I had never been able to before. I think I might've teared up when I took my first breath through my nose. Also he had to have been gentle during surgery because I didn't swell or bruise at all like I was expecting to. Rancho Ear Nose & Throat's Dr. Ashish Wadhwa is the only ENT doctor that I would suggest to anyone. He is clear when communicating to you as the patient. He makes the whole doctor visit very pleasant. I have seen other ENT's and even had surgery preformed by a doctor. That doctor had a big write up in the "Best of San Diego" Magazine". He didn't deliver like Rancho Ear Nose & Throats Dr. Wadhwa! Dr. Wadhwa is in his own league and with his own playing field. I can not praise Dr. Wadhwa enough. The results, the treatments, and the surgery that were preformed, were delivered with dramatic results! I was having difficulty breathing, this was caused by a sinus fungal infection and deviated septum. Dr. Wadhwa first treated the fungal infection and actually I could have stopped there.......I could breathe so much better, once the fungal infection had been dealt with. However, he could not guarantee that the whole thing may not return After a lengthy discussion he subtly suggested surgery, not like it's surgery or nothing. He simply stated that "It's your choice." Dr. Wadhwa stated that surgery would go a long way to helping me fighting fungal infections and breathing better overall with nasal surgery. Fixing the deviated septum would go a long way. (I thought the septum had already been repaired in the last surgery, I was wrong. ) I decided "I need to do this!" I went in early on a Wednesday and had the procedure done. It was done comfortably and smoothly. I have to tell you the first day of recovery from nasal surgery is a long day! However, when you head in early the next morning ( Thursday the very next day ) to have the gauze removed from the nasal cavity and you take a deep breath of oxygen through your newly repaired septum......The taste of Oxygen through your nose.....Tastes so great......You realize how wonderful it is to have your septum repaired. You think to your self, this was a great decision and Dr. Wadhwa is the correct doctor to have working on you. I can not place enough words here to describe the whole thing. Ashish Wadhwa is a great ENT care doctor and surgeon. It was such a great decision to have Dr. Wadhwa work on my nose. I will never see another ENT, Dr. Wadhwa is proper doctor. I am alive and feel healthy just because Of Dr A.Wadhwa I had a sinuses surgery this year in June by another doctor and unfortunately my sinuses got 20 times worse then before the surgery. ( never ever go there) Everyone can made a mistakes, but how you are taken care after it's important also... So, I have to find a real knowledgeable doctor and I glad I did!
