About 10 years ago, I purchased a petite lift chair for my mother, who was 85 years old and about 155 lbs . The chair was wonderful -- comfortable, appropriately sized for a small person, and it lasted for years. My mother is now 95 years old, on hospice, weighs about 90 pounds. When Johnson interior sent me an email saying that they were having a sale I decided to buy my mom the chair again for her body size now. ecause the original chair worked so well, I contacted Johnson Interior to purchase the exact same chair again. Oh When I called, I specifically asked for the same model. When I went into the store to complete the paperwork, the owner showed me color options, including a gray chair color . I agreed to the gray color, believing it was simply the same model petite chair originally purchased. What was delivered was completely different. The new chair is oversized and appears designed for a much larger person It said bariatric size-- not for a frail hospice patient. My mother sinks into it, and the material traps heat. One day when I was caring for her myself and lifted her out of the chair, her back was completely drenched in sweat and her shirt smelt like gas and peroxide. She has bumps on the back of her hair line and her eyes had pink circles around them . When I contacted Johnson Interior, instead of helping resolve the issue directly, I was told I had to deal with the manufacturer myself because "too much time had passed." The problem is, I did not discover how bad the chair truly was until I personally cared for my mother for an afternoon Unfortunately, this was not my first difficult experience with this company. I also purchased a mattress from them that was supposed to be medium firm, but the wrong mattress was delivered. On top of that, finally they picked up the mattress and delivered a firm mattress. Upon receiving the Firm mattress they delivered it took off the cover and then it's the second bedroom so when I went in there like a day later it smelt so bad so I contacted the company and said that it smelt really bad . it had a strong chemical/plastic odor. Again, Johnson Interior directed me to handle the problem with the manufacturer myself. I had to file claims, coordinate inspections, and spend valuable time dealing with the issue while also working full-time and caring for my mother on hospice. Eventually, the manufacturer's inspector confirmed the mattress was defective, and I finally received a refund. My frustration is simple: when a business sells a product, they should stand behind it and help their customers when something goes wrong. Customers should not be forced to chase manufacturers, file claims, and manage the entire process themselves. Caring for a loved one on hospice is already emotionally and physically exhausting. These situations added unnecessary stress during a very difficult time. Based on my experiences, I would not recommend Johnson Interior. I would give no stars but it's not possible to do that. What would be improved how about good customer service and giving grace to people who have busy lives and being honest.

In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.

Furthermore, Hope told us we would have no issues purchasing the items, however the vanity was sold out and she never provided an alternative as a back-up for the second-rate design. Hope also selected a wallpaper, we went to purchase the wallpaper (only needing a small amount) but the roll was for over 134 sqft. and cost $1800.00. We told Hope the selection of wallpaper did not make since because we would be throwing most of the roll away (wasting $1200.00) and asked for an alternative and she ignored us. I loved the wall paper but who throws away $1200.00. Complete waste of money to hire Hope. If you do don't say you were not warned!!!

am so thankful I came across Olive And Oak Interiors on Instagram…read more Initially, I had some very specific options in mind and thankfully Hope was instrumental in thoughtfully explaining why some things would or would not work in my overall design. While I wanted to resist and push back on those few things, I also wanted to trust the process and I am SO glad that I did. For example, I REALLY wanted cork flooring, or so I thought. In the end, cork really didn't fit our budget or overall aesthetic and we went with hard wood floors throughout the entire house. They are gorgeous and even the flooring contractor that installed them pines over them every time he has come back to see them. They changed THE ENTIRE look of our house. It was the very first thing that we did and it created a beautiful foundation, literally, that we then designed everything around. I say "we" but really it was ALL Olive And Oak Interiors. Hope sent an overall look and feel for the house sending a very comprehensive plan for each room that we were focusing on - entry, formal living room (which is still quite casual), kitchen, dining and main living areas. She sent a few different options for furnishings and decor for each space that I could mix and match. And only for a few things I had her source additional options. We also met at a custom furniture showroom to design a piece of furniture that would have cost me at least 2x as much had I ordered it from one of the big mail-order furniture stores. We were able to customize dimensions, cushion density, reinforce the spring construction, select the furniture base accents, and upgrade to a higher-grade performance fabric at a fraction of the cost - well worth the $ spent to have Hope helping me pick out all the details. Soon after I picked out the styles to move forward with, Hope went on maternity leave. She made sure I had EVERYTHING I needed to keep my designs moving forward while she was on leave. At first I was leary of mostly communicating with Hope via email, but this proved to be extremely efficient as I can only imagine for her juggling multiple projects it's a better use of her time. For me as the client it was perfect for having the emails to reference, especially when sources and links were provided. What I also loved about working with Olive And Oak Interiors is they are willing to provide as much or as little detail as I was comfortable with. I wanted help right down to the tablescapes, throw pillows, plants and wall decor. I truly believe this is where the entire look and feel came together. Without the right details to balance the space, it would not have looked the way I wanted, which is why I contacted a designer in the first place. We are only able to complete about 70% of her designs due to budget constraints and we hope to complete our initial projects in a year or so. But I will absolutely be looking to Olive And Oak Interiors to helps us move forward with 3 bathroom renovations, an office, guest room and our master bedroom designs after that. Olive + Oak Interiors have been extremely communicative and thorough since my initial contact. I am thrilled about how our space is coming together and will post photos once we have a few more details buttoned up. This is one of the longest reviews I have ever written but investing in your home is one of the most important decisions you will make and spend money on. Hope will work with you within your budget to create an updated and timeless space that you will absolutely love. I have never had the luxury of working with a designer before and that decision has turned out to be the best decision yet - at least with regards to our new home. Thank you Hope and Olive + Oak Interiors. We knew our house had so much potential and we now love being at home in our beautiful new surroundings.

Which was such a breath of fresh air in this very active real estate market. Being a Realtor. I know all companies that are associated with real estate are experiencing lots of volume so that was very quick considering the market. To be honest I was in such need of moving this project forward. What a wonderful blessing we got started right away! I had moved into a new home and with the exception of a desk/chair and a bed. I only brought items that fit in a box. Or went in the closet. I initially contacted Blythe so I can get a design to get some furniture etc. but I had boxes all around the parameter of my home and couldn't get to the design until we went through all the boxes and had everything organized and put away. Over the years we can accumulate so many items that are so precious. IE: just to name one category. I had been saving a variety of keep sake items from over the years that were also in cardboard boxes and felt stuck not knowing what to do with them. I didn't know where to start. When Kate arrived she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. We opened every box and went through absolutely everything. She made what looked so overwhelming a breeze. She was able to help me discern what to keep and what to purge. I had a hard time parting ways with items I hadn't used in I can't even remember the last time I had used them. I even had kept boxes from vacuums and other appliances that she kindly pointed out were taking up space that we could use to organize other items in. Apparently, I needed the permission to get rid of it. Which when I did get rid of them. It felt freeing! We sorted through all sorts of items. Anywhere, from a variety of keep sakes (my daughter trophy's, various photos, bday and holiday cards I had collected over the years), office supplies, to electronics (she helped me discern what to keep - and what to recycle - phew - so nice to know you can recycle electronics), kitchen cabinets, cleaning supplies, cleaning appliances in a closet, to paperwork that needed to be shredded and had piled up over time (which I got done), misc. bathroom items, linen closet to labeling. By the time we were done it was after 6pm and we had lot of empty cardboard boxes to recycle. Even though she had been here for 4 hours on a intense and detailed job.... with a mask on... On a hot day. She wanted to ensure she didn't leave any task for that day not completed. She offered to help me break down and take out every last box (I live on the 3rd floor) which we did. Then we scheduled an appt. for the next day so we could get some containers etc. to efficiently organize the items. Bye bye cardboard boxes. What started off as a 3 hour process. Ended up being a 9 hour job over a span of 3 days. I'm so grateful Kate was available 3 days in a row to keep the flow of the process going. I can go on and on. When you don't know where to start it's sure great to have someone who is a professional organizer help you. Kate is experienced, professional, amazing, friendly, funny, jovial and someone you will feel comfortable having in your home.

When my husband and I moved into our new house, I cried for the first week because it didn't quite feel "home-y" like I had thought it would. In comes Pretty In Order... The process was SO SMOOTH, she was into of hearing our desires and responding quickly! My only advice? TRUST ALICIAS JUDGEMENT. I suck at interior anything, which is why we hired her, a professional, who knows what she's doing. While I loved a majority of the items we agreed on, some of them I wasn't sure about but I couldn't find anything else so I decided to trust that Alicia wouldn't recommend something she didn't 100% believe in. Please don't make our mistake. Ultimately, Jaki did not understand our vision and kept pushing her design preferences on us. We had to fully create our own PowerPoint deck with reference photos to get our ideas across room by room; source our own tile (when she claimed the design we wanted didn't exist in the tile we wanted); ordered the wrong quantity of products; among many other issues. Additionally when we chose not to use her preferred contractor, she became even more difficult to work with. She claimed she didn't know how to use IKEA's closet building tool to help us build our master closet, was always running late to our meetings; nor did she know how to use Gmail to schedule said meetings. Due to COVID and vendor supply issues our renovation took much longer than anyone expected. But the most egregious and unprofessional behavior was when she quit the job BEFORE any of the fixtures she ordered were even installed. She literally took our money and ran. We were still in the middle of our renovation and had been project managing the majority of the work ourselves. To reiterate-- we paid Jaki in full for her services but she would not even honor returns or exchanges for products that we DID NOT install (because they didn't end up working in our space and were misrepresented in the renderings). In the end, we had to go directly to the vendor ourselves, who graciously honored the exchange given that we had such a terrible time trying to get that through Jaki. The whole experience has been extremely disappointing and we would not recommend her services.

Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by.
