Went here for the first time earlier and WOW it was so delicious. Its hard to find good authentic mexican food in the area and this place is perfect. Staff was super nice and the food ofc was delicious. I got a burrito and couldnt even eat half of it bc it was so big but it was very good. My bf got a breakfast plate and it was all so delicious. Def. Going back soon

First time here. Food was authentic and delicious. Very flavorful. Owners very welcoming and great customer service. Definitely will be back to try the posole and menudo.

Service was great. Food was delicious- menudo, pupusa, quesadilla con carne & the Mandarina was refreshing. Cute environment. We will be back to try more of the menu!

Cucumber lemonade - surprisingly very good and refreshing

Solid meal. Quesadilla was a little greasy but tasty. I really liked the enchiladas. Enjoyable patio (a few flies but Lavern does have a lot of farm land). Music inside was a little loud. Good service. You order at the window and the call your number when the food is ready.

    The rude lady

The food is good I recommend the menudo, birria and the pupusas. I've been coming here for awhile and other times we've been help my the man (the cook) very nice man quick and helpful. However today for the first time I was helped by the lady in the picture was very abrupt (brief to the point of rudeness; curt), we hde lady made it seem like it's our fault. I don't think. I honestly believe this women shouldn't help customers or if she wants to she needs to watch her tone. I understand if it gets busy and she's under stress but she makes you want to cancel your order and go somewhere else

I have been driving by this place for a year and finally stopped in for breakfast. The service was great, the gentleman who helped us was a nice young man and it's his families restaurant. We ordered and waited about 15 mins for our food, but let me tell you, it's worth the wait. The food was fresh and hot and delicious. We are coming back to try the tacos and tortas next time. Today we had the breakfast burritos and the huevos rancheros with chorizo .. Simply amazing !!!!

This place is fantastic. I got the sopes and was very pleased with the textures, flavors, freshness, and quality. The staff was friendly and everything was prepared to order. The place is rustic but charming. Child friendly! The popusas, asada tacos, and tortas were also very good (others in party ordered these). Intend to return and try the whole menu. I moved here from San Diego and this is the best Mexican place I've been since moving.

Nice little sitting area and patio.

I've never heard of pupusas before, but OMG are they amazing! I thought they were just fat, heavy, little Mexican pancakes, but then I got to the middle. Wow they're so delicious. By that time I was hooked. So, it's a little embarrassing, but I went back for more.Tlayudas are just as tasty but a whole lot bigger. Nevermind that higher price, these things can easily feed two people... or three. Wrap it all up with friendly fast service and ice cold Coke in a bottle and this place is a gem!

Sign asking for patience. All food is fresh and worth the wait!

I've been trying to get to this place for months! But every time I remember them, of course it's during the hours they are closed lol Anyway, I went here on a Saturday afternoon. They are still getting the inside together after the fire but the outside is beautiful and nice to sit. I ordered the carne sopes, chicharrron, rice, bean, and cheese papusas, posole, carne asada burrito, and quesadilla. Everything was so good! No complaints. We got it to go and the sopes were even still mostly in tact by the time we got home. The way they were packaged was perfect. They had a little salsa bar. We tried all the salsas and all of them were good. Everything was well seasoned, hot, and just delicious! I love that they have a sign to let you know that all orders are made fresh so be patient because you are not at a drive thru lol I also got horchata. I didn't know they had it until I saw someone else with it. The guy at the counter said they switch out the drinks but usually have horchata so be sure to ask what drinks they have available. We will be back for sure!

This is a hidden food truck a building on the front Hugo inside it's a food truck behind the buildings in you order through a little window and cool Buy saw they had on the menu tlayudas witch there's only a few place in Phoenix you can get them I orded asada witch was grate the meat was juicy flavorful it had onion tomato great cilantro just so good oh tlayudas are a giant corn tortilla normal cook on a comal over fire so there a little smokey i also got there birra was not that good they were bland and burt definitely will go back

I ordered to go tonight. This is how it was packed. Very generous portions.

This place is OPEN for business! It is NOT permanently closed. I love this restaurant! We've been going here for the past six years since we moved to Laveen. Great service, great food, and great vibe. Tonight, I got menudo and posole to go. Best dinner ever! It came with cilantro, onions, cabbage, limes, and your choice of either tortillas, bread, or tostadas on the side. Lots of pork chunks in the posole and lots of tripes in the menudo. We take all our guests visiting from out of town here because it's authentic! When we came last month, we ordered birria tacos, sopes, tortas, and pupusas. All were excellent! The wait may be a bit longer, but as their sign says, they are not a fast food restaurant. Everything is made-to-order and believe me, the wait is well worth it! Your food comes out fresh and piping hot. The owners are also very sweet and friendly. Visit this place if you're in Laveen! I love supporting local small businesses. Salud!

I split time between Phoenix and Rhode Island, so every time I'm back here, this place ends up on the list. This trip, I brought the extended family along, first timers across the board. No hesitation. They got it immediately. We always start with the Machaca pizza. That's non-negotiable. It comes out hot, loaded with flavor, and just enough heat to wake you up without knocking you over. It sets the tone. You know exactly what kind of meal you're about to have. Last night I went with the Relleno Dinner with the garlic pulled pork, and it was ridiculous in the best way. Rich, smoky, layered with flavor, and yes, it brings heat. Not gimmicky heat. Not "let's see how spicy we can make this" heat. Real, intentional, built-into-the-dish kind of heat. The kind that actually belongs there. And that brings me to the complaints I keep seeing. "It's too hot." Come on. Their slogan is literally "Some Like It Hot." That's the whole point. You don't walk into a place like this expecting mild salsa and a side of bottled hot sauce. This is not that. This is bold, unapologetic, New Mexican-style cooking that doesn't water itself down for anyone. If you want toned-down, there are a hundred other places in Phoenix happy to oblige. Service has always been on point. Friendly, efficient, and comfortable. Not stiff, not rehearsed. Just people who know what they're doing and keep things moving without making it feel rushed. What I respect most is the consistency. I've worked my way through most of the menu over the years, and I've never walked out disappointed. Not once. That's rare. The place has a personality, and it doesn't bend. It knows exactly what it is, and it executes it every single time. I highly recommend it. And if history holds, I'll probably be back within the week.
