The owners, Dana and Fernando had amazing stories to share. You could really tell they loved the dogs and the dogs loved them. We got muddy but it was totally worth it. I am giving Luna Lobos 5 stars b/c Fernando & Dana & their employees have the hugest hearts I have ever seen. They are truly wonderful people. I was crying while she was talking about her dogs. We had a very good experience. We are a family of 5, all adults & had three sleds. We had no idea what to expect. It was definitely coincidental that all 3 of our sleds tipped over, as two of the mushers had never tipped a sled. None of us got hurt, & my sled not only tipped over, but we got dragged & the sled got away. But this was not a scary ride, in fact, we were backed-up & at a stand-still for a very long time just enjoying the scenery and talking. I liked milling around & loving on the dogs as much as the sledding portion. Dana treats her dogs like they are her children. Her dogs are very well-taken care of, VERY sweet & lovable, much-loved. I hope people (tourists & locals) continue to support them. I think it's probably more appealing to younger children than 20+-year-old kids. But my 3 adult children very much enjoyed it b/c it was a unique experience & we are all huge animal/dog lovers. Thank you, Dana and Fernando for having such wonderful hearts of gold. What an incredible experience! My husband and I went on a dog sled ride at Luna Lobos for my birthday today and from the moment we stepped onto their property, we came to realize this was no ordinary tour or adventure company. There is a warmth and kindness to Dana and Fernando that makes you feel like family as they introduce you to their dogs and the place they've built together. Equally as beautiful, they have such a strong love for their dogs, most of which are rescues, and it is evident they really care for each one of them. I left not only having had an absolute blast on my first dog sled ride, but also left with a warm heart knowing there are still genuine, quality people out there. There are a few different choices for dog sledding, but we chose this one based on reviews and we're glad we did. Being an animal lover, it was important to me that the dogs are treated well. Many of the dogs are rescues, some with sad stories and happy endings, so I feel like I'm not just getting a fun experience, but also supporting a dog rescue. Dana, Fernando, and our musher, Jon, were all super friendly. I did get a little workout helping the dogs uphill, but that was my choice to get off and push. Downhill was fun. This was absolutely THE COOLEST thing to do by far! Fernando and his team were so kind and informative and answered all of our questions and gave us so many fun facts about each of the dogs. They make you feel at home while you're there and are extremely welcoming. We did the Kennel Tour and never once did we feel rushed. Fernando even gladly took our picture. I was absolutely thrilled to have visited Luna Lobos with my family on 1/16. We did the dog kennel tour. We will definitely be back to try the sledding tours, but all were booked up for our impromptu trip. Make sure to book well in advance if you're trying to get on a sledding tour, at least 2 months, it's unbelievably popular for good reason. Dana, Fernando, and team were wonderful hosts, educational, and hanging with all the precious dogs was an amazing treat for all of us, especially our 3 year old daughter. If you're an animal lover, this is for you. If you're a dog lover, it's an incredibly great experience and you'll be glad you captured these memories with your family. You get to cuddle with these pups through the educational part of the tour before exploring the ranch and award winning dogs in the sled dog kennels opposite side of the ranch. Watching them released and display their speed and excitement to lead a tour is so awesome. They have over 70 dogs, a large variety of breeds from Saint Bernard, Malemute, Husky, a dog that is 85% wolf, and even a direct descendant of Togo from the infamous Togo movie on Disney+ is there! I do not ski or snowboard. So when my friends and family took a vacation in Park City, I got my son to skip a day on the slopes to try dogsledding with me. What a fun excursion! I found out about this coming from our Airbnb hosts. The love these owners have for their animals is amazing, But let me go back. The process to book online from their website was easy. The owners are very responsive to any questions I had. I thought the price for the excursion was reasonable. The days before my scheduled trip they reached out with reminders. The day before our scheduled outing, the musher had a personal family emergency and no others available . So we decided to reschedule for later the next day. The next day in the morning when doing their due diligence checking out the condition of the trails we'd use , they determined that areas were unsafe due to unusually warm weather the prior evening. For our safety and that of their dogs and mushers we decided again to reschedule. My point is , they did everything in their power to get us a safe excursion on a schedule that worked for us. When we got to finally go dogsledding it was so much fun. I did miss something in the description. I did not realize that we would be actively helping the musher. My son stood behind the musher on the sled. Our musher John was excellent and explained everything in detail about the ride. Thankfully my son was in good enough shape to do this . I suspect if he wasn't , they would have found another option for us. From my end riding in the sled was a lot of fun, feeling kind of like a slow roller coaster in bursts. We stopped several times to rest the dogs and to regroup before we got to some of the trickier paths on the trail. I was warm in the sled and my son says he got a good workout. In addition to the ride we were able to spend time with the animals, some of which we're almost full blood wolves. They were beautiful. Luna Lobos is a wonderful place to visit. It's a family-owned business who really cares about their dogs and making sure their guests have a great adventure. You get to love on the dogs, help put their harnesses on, attach them to the ropes and watch them run to their heart's content. The most rewarding aspect of Luna Lobos is their owners, Fernando and Dana, work with rescue dogs from shelters and from owners who surrender their dogs. They integrate these poor pups into a loving atmosphere and gain their trust. For the dogs that don't love team work in dogsledding, Fernando and Dana find them forever homes. I wish I could write a million reviews for Luna Lobos Dog Sledding, each time giving it a whopping 5 stars because I simply cannot say enough about how amazing this experience was! I mean, whisking rapidly through fresh powder whilst pulled by a team of quirky canines via sled, how could it POSSIBLY be even remotely bad? You're right, it can't be. It was perfect! There were a lot of companies to choose from as we were researching dog sledding during our trip to Park City but we really hit the jackpot with Luna Lobos. If it wasn't the actual sledding experience that hit the spot, it was Fernando and his wife Dana that made it go above and beyond. They are seriously the sweetest most down to earth people. They make you immediately feel like you've been friends for a long while, it's just a bonus for you that these friends happen to have a dozen amazing dogs that can race you around the wilderness! Dana was able to pick us up from our condo in Park City since we did not have a car and took us all the way to the trail where we would be sledding. Thank goodness she was willing to pick us up or else we would have gotten quite lost going that deep into the mountains and through that snow storm (Us Californians you know, we can' even handle a little drizzle). We were greeted by Fernando and of course the most adorable group of pups ever. We got to meet and greet each one of them while they got the sled ready. We learned so much about each dog's unique personality and their roles on the team. Some were happy accidents in the pack, others were adopted from shelters. Two of the dogs are actually 10 years old and have ran a couple of Iditarods, but don't worry they still run like hell! You could really tell they loved each and every one of them. What was really a treat was to see just how ridiculously excited the dogs were to get going. They kept barking and jumping in excitement, I thought we were going to take off in the sleigh without Fernando! We had the hour tour which went by so fast because it was so fun. Even though it was a very windy snowy day, you are quite snug in the sled. I recommend bringing glasses/goggles just so you can keep your eyes on the whole experience. Just do it, seriously. My husband and I took our 5 yr old and 20 month old on (2) 30 min tours. 30 min is the perfect amount of time for little ones. Fernando was absolutely amazing and provided an awesome experience. The scenery was gorgeous and it was fun to get out of the city area and have another type of Park City experience. There is not a restroom out there so come prepared that the closest modern facility is about 15 min away at a cute diner. It takes every bit of 40-50 min to get out there but definitely worth it. We boarded our 14-month old Siberian Husky, Bella, at Rancho Luna Lobos for a couple days between Christmas and New Year's. We had visited them 2 years ago for the sledding experience and already knew and trusted them. We had to contact them last minute since our dog sitter fell through, but Dana and Fernando were so accommodating and responsive. This was our first time leaving Bella with someone else and we knew this would be a better experience than traditional boarding. We were right! Bella gets anxious about us leaving but Dana assured us they could handle it. Within 5 minutes of our arrival, it seemed both Bella's and our nervousness dissipated as Lilly, our favorite dog from our first visit here, immediately took Bella under her wing and they began playing. As we said our goodbyes, it was clear all the dogs accepted her and she was already part of the pack. Bella made so many friends, had lots of space to run and play in the snow, and a cozy cottage to rest. When we picked her up, Dana gave us a report on how Bella did and it was clear that she received awesome care from everyone (dogs and humans!) involved. Bella was excited to see us but sad to leave. This was such a unique and fulfilling boarding experience for her, and we will definitely board her here in the future. read more
