This was a really great experience! Dana and Fernando were wonderful hosts and were very educational about their dogs, dog sledding (they compete worldwide!), etc. Unfortunately, we had to change our tour the day before due to lack of snow from sledding to an atv with the dogs thinking they were pulling us but essentially the same and was a great time. All the dogs were super sweet and loving. Would highly recommend!

Once in awhile you experience something so special and unique that gives you a refreshing zest for life, and this place, these people, and these dogs gave us exactly that! Wow, what an experience to be surround by all kinds of rescued dogs (89 to be exact), big and small, young and old, all so friendly and loved! The stories, the passion and the mission were so meaningful. And to know that not all the dogs have to be sled dogs, it's part of the mission to rescue these dogs no matter if they will compete or not. Having spent time with Fernando, we learned so much, he was so welcoming and willing to spend time with us, answering our questions and providing us with wonderful memories with all of the dogs! We did the kennel tour and pack walk. Well worth it!

We loved our snowshoe tour. Meeting the family, staff, & all the dogs was great! We learned so much. The work they do, the love they have for their work & ALL of the dogs is incredible! We hope to go back & take the sled dog tour next time! Thank you Dana, Fernando, & Anna for a wonderful experience!

We had an amazing time visiting Rancho Luna Lobo for the snowshoeing tour with the retired lead sled dog. The route was very picturesque. We also got a tour of the kennel afterwards and met a lot of incredible dogs. This was the highlight of our Park City trip. We had an unforgettable experience learning about their passions for the dogs. I highly recommend Rancho Luna Lobo, it truly exceeded our expectations.

We attended the Kennel Tour and had the most wonderful time! Fernando, Dana and their whole team are absolutely amazing, but they are second to the incredible dogs. The dogs are wonderful and loving and clearly living their best life. We could have stayed all day! We will always remember to be dog listeners, not dog whisperers!

We had such an amazing time with the crew at Luna Lobos. Between talking with the staff and meeting the doggies this is definitely such a special experience that I'd recommend to anyone who loves dogs. We had so much fun dog sledding with Kendel and conversing with Fernando!

Highlight of my park city trip. We looooved dogsledding and our guide Chloe was awesome! Although petite, Chloe was such a beast and made us feel safe during the sledding! I can't say enough good things about this experience! Dana and Fernando thank you for what you do!! We can't wait to come back!

    Dog Sled Safari

My family and I recently did the Dog Sled Safari and the Kennel Tour. it was the highlight of our trip to Utah!! Dana and Fernando are amazing people. they do such a great job of telling the different inspirational stories of the rescue dogs. The safari itself is breathtaking, not just because of the beautiful views but also how you get to witness the amazing relationships Fernando has with his dogs. The dogs are all so happy and love to run! we even got to see puppies! Such a special day and not one we will ever forget. thank you!

This was my third 8-hour visit to American Fossil Quarry (visted in 2024 and 2025). The first two times we went were awesome, but unfortunately (as my title shows) the third time was a bust. The rock quality was just not good and despite splitting rock faster than I ever have before I did not find much. And based on what the people around me found (aside from one lucky find), nobody else was finding much either. I didn't find a (mostly) intact small fish fossil until hour 3. The staff also acknowledged that the rock quality wasn't great (and very kindly proud us rock from a different pile to split, although that unfortunately didn't yield much). We left with less than10 okayish common fish fossils after 8 hours. This is like 1/5 of what we brought home the two years previously, not including the higher quality specimens we found. I fully understand that the owner and staff cannot control the quality of the rock on a particular day. You get what you get, as the saying goes. I don't know if there is anybody to blame except nature itself. I also acknowledge that I am largely only interested in higher quality fossils and so naturally I'm going to be pickier than most guests. However that does not change the fact that I left feeling extremely discouraged (esp. considering the amount of money we spent to come here) and we will likely not return. The reason I am making this review is I want to let everybody to know that the experience you get is up to chance. You could have an amazing time with lucky finds, or have it be a complete bust. If you're somebody who doesn't particularly care about the quality/rarity of the fossils you get, you will probably still have a good time no matter what. But if you're primarily interested in higher quality specimens, maybe save your money and put it towards purchasing a nicer fossil in the future.

We live in Arizona and my wife is an amateur rockhound which means we cannot go more than a mile on…read moreback country roads without stopping lol. I found this site and purchased a 4 hour dig package as a surprise for her and to say it was a hit would be an understatement, The purchase was easy, and they kept us updated on the upcoming dig with emails and additional information which was great. We stayed in Kemmerer which is close by and the driving instructions to the site were easy to read and got us there with no issues. Once off the paved highway there is a bit of a drive to the dig site, and it is on dirt roads. It is also through open range so free grazing cattle and sheep can be near and, on the road, so be careful. Go slow... they will give you the stink eye for making them move but they do move. Once at the dig site there is plenty of parking and check in was easy. The staff was wonderful and very informative. While I opted to stay in the car and read a book, I could see the dig site and watch my wife who was like a kid in a candy store. She found many fish fossils and the staff were always wondering about the site to offer advice and help. Based on a previous review we brought plenty of bubble wrap and a container to put here treasures in. So, thank you to Janet the author of the post
