Our dog sledding experience was really special. It was expensive, but the concierge at our hotel told me this company really takes care of their dogs and they also educate people there. I found out not only do they do dog sledding, but they have dog safaris and also kids camps in the summer. The husband and wife (Fernando and Dana) are owners and have worked hard to build what they have. They really care and love the dogs like family and most of their dogs have been mistreated or abandoned and they take them in and train them. They even have Glee on Netflicks playing for them in their dog bunk house! They are so caring for the dogs and people too! We really had a great time! I would definitely recommend them and this experiece! read more

A truly memorable experience for adults and children alike! There were seven of us, ranging in age from 2 to 65, and everyone agreed that it was a highlight of our vacation. In addition to the sledding, guests have the opportunity to interact with the dogs, many of whom are rescues trained to become sled dogs. I'll begin by saying that the owner and staff are very enthusiastic about their rescue efforts here which are indeed commendable. They are warm and welcoming and it is a pleasure to see such a facility and the comfort it brings to these animals. As for dogsledding though it was a disappointment. I have been dogsledding twice before, in Winter Park Colorado and in Aspen. In both cases the dogs were barely able to be contained once on the lines. And that's a good thing! Sled dogs want nothing more than to run at full speed. They were bred and trained to be sled dogs and easily demonstrated the ability to pull a sled with a passenger and a driver with ease, making for a fast and exciting sled ride for about one hour. But at this facility the rescue dogs are utilized to pull the sled, and apparently not the ones they actually use for racing, with the resulting ride being quite disappointing. In the sled was myself at 130lbs and my three year old at 35lbs and a female driver smaller than myself. A lighter load would be uncommon other than a single child. The dogs were mostly not interested in walking let alone running and demonstrably not capable when they actually tried to pull this relatively light load up the small hills leaving the loading area. I was asked by my very out of breath driver to get out of my sled that I was bundled in with my three year old and help her to "push" the sled up the multiple hills in the beginning of the course. I requested to remain in the sled with the child instead, at which point my driver, exhausted from literally pushing the sled up the hill with no help from the dogs who ignored her commands, asked the driver behind us to loan her a dog. They added a dog to our team but to no avail. Then they redistributed the dogs in the team because some just wanted to play or fight. But still to no avail. Then the driver behind us left her clients to help our driver literally push the sled uphill. When we finally got to the top our exhausted driver then took a five minute break while we sat at a standstill bundled in our sled. The entire time the three year old is disappointedly saying "I want to go fast!" Well, at least my worries that this may be scary for her had definitely vanished. And now, just as quick as that, it was time to head back to the kennels! Thankfully there were two short downhills that were fun for all of about five minutes and the ride was over. The bulk of the time spent on this tour is a presentation of the rescue efforts and visiting the dogs. Very little time actually sledding and that time was incredibly disappointing I am very sorry to say. read more

Fernando, Alex, and Darla were amazing! My family had the most amazing experience. The dogs were so sweet and lovable. My kids were heaven. It was also so cool learning about all the dogs ( most of them rescues:) and the whole dog racing world. The kids were able to "drive" the sled and spend great time with all the dogs. Adding our Luna Lobos Dog Sledding experience to our family's ski vacation week was one of the best decisions we made. It was THE highlight of our week for so many reasons, including Dana, Fernando and staff's caring, professional, informative and hands-on manner. It was a completely unique and amazing educational adventure for our entire family, which included me, my 3 year old, 2 year old and 7 month old grandkids and their parents! Luna Lobos is a model for humane animal care and rehabilitation for rescue and retired racing dogs. Their story is inspirational and it was an honor to get a chance to live that experience with them. I signed me three girls (ages 13,10, 10) up for a single day of camp. When I picked them up all 3 were talking at once "I had so much fun!" "Can we come back again?" "Can we adopt a dog?" I would say it was a success! They talked non-stop for almost an hour telling me about all the dogs and what they learned. Definitely worth the money. read more

What is not to love? Fernando and his team are top notch. They provided us with a memorable experience and happily answered all of our questions as we rode with them. They allowed my son to assist with hooking up the dogs which made his day! We had a ton of snow at the time so the location was beautiful. We took an uber there from Park City which wasn't a problem but be prepared to wait if taking one back as the location is off the beaten path. We had to wait about twenty minutes for our return ride which didn't surprise me. read more
