I was not impress. My table had 6 people and our food came out 1 plate at a time with at least 5 mins in between and the last dish we had to ask for it since it was never arrived. The kids burrito was smothered in red enchilada sauce and my kids thought it was spicy looking and refused to eat it. The food over all was below average. Fajita meat was tough and onions were burnt, and the carnitas burrito had huge chunks of sweet pork. The meat was so big chunks that took most of the burrito and it was sweet which was gross. I've eaten here several times and had great food. Service is sometimes slow and chaotic, but I'm patient. Today I sat for 20 minutes with a menu, made eye contact with two waiters, and watched a waitress sit herself at a table to chat with a young Hispanic couple who came in after me. Restaurant only had about five occupied tables, so not like they couldn't handle the volume. Sad. read more

Finally a good Mexican restaurant! Even my kids loved it and that is rare. We had the taco salad and the ground beef was perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. Pollo Loco was delicious according to my 10 yr old. Chicken Tortilla soup was very tasty. Shrimp and scallop fajitas were great as was the combo #1. We live 35 miles away but we will be back. We waited over an hour for food. I understand it's opening weekend, but holy cow this was ridiculous. We were seated after waiting at the front for 10 minutes. Once we were seated we were given expectations the young female waitress told us our wait would be extremely long. She did not give us a time frame but just asked several times are we sure we want to wait? I said yes several times. Once we were seated we were given our drinks and no-one came back for over 20 minutes. When a random person asked if we needed anything we said no thank you and she walked away not to be seen again for 30 more minutes. The tables are dirty, and wobbly, this is a brand new restaurant how are the tables wobbly already? We were seated in the back away from everyone which was very awful because it seemed like a unused closet space that they stuck several booths back there. Makes me feel like I was unwanted and we were able to look at either the wall or the table to our left that's it. The food finally came out 90 minutes from when we sat down. My daughter ordered a hamburger (yeah I know who orders a burger at a mexican restaurant? ) her bun is super hard and not editable. I ordered what was called a #1 which consisted of the 1 taco, 2 enchiladas and "spanish" rice. The spanish rice is horrible, it's luke warm and has no taste at all. It looks like orange rice and no flavor. Not happy with this place and on opening weekend. Very disappointed. read more

Edited to add: Came for lunch with my husband who suggested trying the Molcajete. Not being terribly hungry I told him to go ahead and I would just nibble off what he ordered as I was mostly after a margarita. Absolutely blown away. It is not something I would ever have chosen by the menu description. In fact I never even noticed it in the menu. But holy cow is it ever good. We ordered it with both steak and carnitas. It is just the right mix of flavors, textures... we have a new favorite to order here. Rancho Nuevo is doing it right. Beyond impressed with both the food and the service. read more

We stopped here for lunch based off of the previous reviews and were not disappointed! The ingredients were fresh and the seasoning was unique (in a good way) compared to other Mexican restaurants. The service was very good and the staff was friendly and attentive. I had the burrito rojo, which was huge and tasty. My wife had the chile rellano, which she said was the best she's ever had. The salsa was very good as well. The complimentary queso that came with the chips and salsa was the only thing was was a bit funky to us. read more

We were in the mood for a Mexican dinner and there are many in the area. Been wanting to try this since it opened last year. We were very pleasantly surprised. Roomy and spacious, very reasonably priced menu as are most Mexican restaurants. The service was excellent! The salsa bar was great but could stand to be labeled better as to what is what... Wife had enchiladas and she loved it. I had the Molcajete and this is the real deal. Finally, real Mexican food and not just Tex-Mex! It's hard to find the real thing around here. Based on some reviews and a friend's review, we decided to try Ranch Nuevo. The Sex on the Beach drink had to be returned for 1) tasted like bathroom cleaning products, 2) this drink does not have grenadine in it. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and I had the hot mexican carnitas. The steak fajitas were semi tender but had no taste. The smell that came off the platter when they brought it to the table was burnt onions. My carnitas were mushy pork with half in red sauce and the other half in green sauce. They had no taste. The salsa bar had a lot of salsa, they all tasted the same and none of them had any fresh citrus in them. I asked for limes and they brought a plate of dried up slices. The rice and beans were awful too. They tasted like any other bad mexican restaurant's rice and beans. The only thing that was good was the chips. This awful meal costed us $40 ( that included 2 Coronas) Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. Ernie should worry more about the chef and the kitchen help instead of this customers! They should lessen the menu choices and have a 1page menu; and get a mexican grandmother to make the food! Mexican food has flavor! I am American and I would challenge the Chef at Rancho Nuevo to a Mexican Cookoff! We did have excellent service but that was because we were the only people in her area. read more

We tried this restaurant tonight, it opened recently. The service was good, the wait staff friendly. The meal was delicious, my only complaint was that the beans and rice were not as hot as they should have been. Luke warm, at best. I mentioned it to our waiter after I had finished, and he was very apologetic - said he would have corrected it if I had told him when it was delivered. I'm sure he would have, but the rest of the meal was so delicious, I didn't want to wait! We will go back again, for sure. read more
