Stopped in on a cool and cloudy Monday morning in May, and enjoyed my latte. Nice space, only a few patrons at the nice, soothing folk music playing. The thing that put me off was the aggressive signage everywhere prohibiting this and that. No pets, restrooms for customers only, tables reserved for 2 or more customers, no outside food, etc. I'm sympathetic to business owners trying to prevent customers from taking advantage in various ways, but these kinds of things set an unwelcoming tone that annoys me. If you don't show a little confidence that your customers are good people, they will feel your judgment. read more

Truly impressive how it managed to take zero responsibility, suggest everything I personally could have done differently, and even imply I was in the wrong establishment. A masterclass in deflection. Here's what actually happened. I walked in to a full café with no one at the front counter. I stood there for a few minutes--no greeting, no acknowledgment, no "be right with you." I didn't see a bell, and frankly, I shouldn't need one to announce my presence in a business that exists to serve customers. I eventually left to check the place down the street for an egg sandwich. They were closed. So I came back. I waited another 2-3 minutes, then looked through the kitchen window--where I found two employees sitting down, on their phones, chatting. They were not preparing food. They were not working, no tidying up. It looked very much like break time... except the café was full and I was waiting for any sign of an employee. When I finally placed my order, it felt like I was speaking a different language. No apology. No acknowledgment that I'd been standing there for five or six minutes waiting. Just indifference. Yes, I get it--it's a coffee shop. But the issue isn't coffee. It's completely inept staff and, based on your response, equally inept ownership. You mentioned "checking in on employees." Respectfully--no, you're not. If you were, they wouldn't be hiding in the kitchen on their phones while customers stand around wondering if the place is open. The moment one employee finally made eye contact with me, it was very clear: "Oh crap." That's when the other employee was sent out front. This happened this morning, 12/29. As an owner, this should be a teachable moment: you're paying people to serve customers, not scroll their phones hiding in the kitchen while a full café waits. read more

The cocomocha latte was pretty good, I'd say a 7.5/10. The peach smoothie was a 9.5/10 according to my girlfriend. The breakfast sandwiches were good, could have gone without the savory spread on them, the croissants were extremely crumbly, may just want to get their croissants at Costco, 7/10. Rated a two because it's prob a good coffee house and didn't want to detract From that but as far as lunch/food it was not good for us. Ordered a Ruben and a grilled chicken wrap. Rueben came out cold and we had to ask To have to heated. When heated and tasted it, it was bad. Meat tasted old or processed or ? One bite and we absorbed the $13. At table we asked for salt and pepper and ketchup when they brought food and the young lady pointed to a table that we could go grab some from but "just put it back when" we were done. I said that would prob not happen. WTH? Chicken wrap had some kind of pesto that was watery and hard to eat as a wrap. I opened it and ate some of the chicken. It tasted Ok but certainly wasn't worth wasting my calories on. Tater tots were barely warmed through let Alone crispy as life's tots should be. My wife's $4 apple juice was good. SMH. $46 (i added $4 tip before food came out) lunch wasn't the way to go. We literally left and went to go eat lunch somewhere else. Lesson learned, get coffee from coffee houses. Stopped here to grab food on our way to Skyline Drive. We ordered an apple turnover (which they heated for us) and a breakfast sandwich which was extra delicious. The breakfast sandwich tasted like it might have had mustard in it? I'm not sure if that is what it was, but I've never had a breakfast sandwich like it before and I will try and make it on my own this way moving forward. Main Street Daily Grind is a unique coffee shop in Front Royal VA. Imagine Starbucks, but with better food choices, an ice cream stand and a kids area. Quite amazing in fact. Happened in here waiting for the local brewery to open. On Yelp it said the Brewery would open at 11am,but the door of the Brewery said noon. Kind of glad they weren't open or I would not have been able to experience the Daily Grind. We had chicken panini and fried mushrooms, salmon but with fries, a sweet tea and a double espresso con panna which is basically with a dollop of foam. The atmosphere is serene. The service was great here. It would return if I every come back to this beautiful sleepy town. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning, and surprisingly wasn't too busy. There was quite a variety to choose from as far as eats go...even ice cream from Homestead Creamery! We had the breakfast sliders. You get to choose your meat, I chose bacon. There was some sort of horseradish sauce on it that was so good. Tied the whole slider together. I'd never thought to pair horseradish with bacon, egg and cheese...but now, I'm going to try to replicate whatever that sauce was. I also ordered bulletproof coffee. It was light with kind of a fluffy texture. Bulletproof coffee is meant to be a breakfast replacement, but I figured since the slider was small...why not?!? The shop was pretty big, with lots of little seating areas. The baristas were friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the cleanliness and all the small comfortable seating areas...it helped with social distancing. read more

I've been here a few times in the past , but today the waitstaff was just okay but one girl in particular a dark haired girl with the black shirt and light blue jeans who made our drinks was extremely rude. I was here with my family who came in from out of state and we ordered several coffees. I ordered specifically 2 iced caramel lattes with decaf espresso. The girl at the register who was quiet ,but nice repeated my order back to me and everything was correct. I sat by the window and when the 2 drinks came up they were hot drinks I nicely told my mom, who grabbed the orders they were incorrect and they were supposed to be iced. My mom told the girl making the drinks these were supposed to be iced the girl and kind of left it a question instead of a statement she looked at me from across the store then looked at my mom she said "Ok? And? I didn't take your order that's not my mistake what do you want?" My mom said "Can we have these iced?" The girls behind the counter with the dark hair black shirt and light blue jeans rolled her eyes and took the drinks and walked away. We eventually did get what we ordered however the important part of this post was the staff girl that waited on us made it seem like we were a bother because we asked for our drinks to be correct. I don't care if she's having a bad day, if the restaurant was busy or whatever else happened in between if you're in customer service you have to act like you want to be there. I am in customer service too and I know how to fake it even if I don't want to be there. Luckily I don't let one person ruin a whole experience, but if she acted like this with us SMH **reviews are an experience that we as a customer had at an establishment but I guess we're not allowed to have a negative review because we will get bullied and threatened by the owner on yelp what a shame** read more

This is a cute little shop on Main Street (true to form). We're passing through looking for a quick bagel and coffee/juice. The bagel and cream cheese was - fine. It was plain and simple... more bread with a hole than true bagel (if you're a New Yorker this is not a bagel :) ). Cream cheese comes on the side which I find super annoying. The everything bagel was missing the everything -- like it comes with sesame and poppy but is missing the flavor... onion? Garlic? Salt? Like the everything! The coffee was good! Now let's talk about the rest... the place was clean and the staff were wearing masks but I don't think gloves. Masks were not required to enter (I don't know the area laws so I can't speak to that). Tables were not 6ft apart. I did feel like I was getting the side eye for walking in with a mask but... too bad. They use a screen to process credit cards - which you have to touch to complete the order. Lastly - it was a 15 mi. Wait for 4bagels to get toasted. So not the quickest pit stop. read more

We were in town for my birthday weekend and decided to stop in here on the last day of the trip. I ordered a Caramel Macchiato with Almond Milk, my normal coffee order. It came out quickly and tasted really good! There is seating available inside so, since there were 4 of us in our group, we drank our coffee in the restaurant and enjoyed a casual conversation. The ambience is similar to other coffee shops that I've been to, very comfortable and welcoming with quiet music playing overhead. The parking is curbside, but it was free and easy enough to find a space close by so no worries there. I don't know when I'll be in the area again, but if I find myself staying in Linden, VA again I'll be back for another cup! read more

While visiting the area, we came across this cute little coffee shop. We had just finished eat breakfast elsewhere so this review is only for the coffee I ordered and the atmosphere. The place reminded me of another coffee shop in Williamsburg that I love. It was pretty quiet with people working on their laptops, enjoying other's company or just sitting in the window reading. The woman up front taking the orders wasn't really personable but iys all good. Maybe she was having a rough day. I ended up ordering the coco mocha. I asked if the drink was sweet and she replied that it's sweet with the syrup. It wasn't. Lol maybe I was expecting it to be slightly sweeter. Anyway I finished the coffee and everyone I was with seemed to enjoy their own. Overall I would give this place a try again and try something different. Owner was busy baking fresh turnovers for the bakery case and her staff were amazingly welcoming. We had a breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito with our coffee and Chai. Everything was wonderful, tasty and fresh. We even grabbed some pastries to bring home. A definite hidden gem located in the municipal area of Front Royal. This cafe beets the grand old green star backs....by miles with customer service, great beverages, and fresh ...that's right hour out the oven fresh pastries. Ohhh I'll return at some point. I rate every coffee location based on one drink the latte. If they can pull great shots of espresso they are well on there way to a great review. Add that to some great service and flakey pastries then you bet ya they nailed it. Main Street Grind is a great local cafe the service was excellent and the drinks were poured to perfection. The late I had was exactly how it should be...and tasted great. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable...the little things in their Decor was done right...from the walls to ceiling and even their kitchen was Thoughtfully planed to maximize customer comfort. The chairs and tables are comfortable and they even had some nice comfortable couches. The pictures here don't lie...it is that nice. If you are in the area give them a try. read more

If you dare to show up at 5:40 because of your commute (closes at 6) without a word they will just plunk your food on the table in a bag. We had no intention to eat in our car on a cold December.
