Stopped by for an early dinner. We started off with margaritas, chips and salsa. Margaritas were good. Salsa was ok but not very flavorful. We shared a beef chimichanga for a starter. Meat was flavored well but so overcooked. The tortilla was full of grease. We ended up taking the meat out as we could not eat the tortilla. We had poblano beef fajitas and requested jalapeños added to the vegetable mix. It was nice and spicy. The meat was just so overcooked that it was not very good. Rice and beans were good. We also had a street taco and hard taco. The street taco was bland with overcooked meat. It was better pouring the salsa on it, guacamole and lime. I requested shredded cheese on the hard taco as I cannot stand that queso velveeta cheese. The hard taco was pretty soggy from the grease and the bottom fell out. I'm almost certain the DMV manages this place. On the recommendation of the hotel clerk from our meeting in Fairfield we drove to Teague for the "wonderful Tex-Mex". The place was packed, normally a good sign... The lack of a greeter was a bad omen and random seating by random employees followed. Received menus after, one of our party physically tracked down a server with our second request. Using a similar process we eventually asked to order and to our great surprise they actually took the order. Our group is nothing if not tenacious... The appetizer never arrived but eventually the main course did... The last time I had a "ribeye" this tough and leathery I was in a combat zone in Southwest Asia and I'm pretty sure then it was camel. I didn't know anything inside a cow could be as tough as the hide. The meal may have been a bit more appealing if we had a refill on the chips. Washing down the "steak" was tough with an empty glass, however when most waitstaff would be inquiring about dessert we received a refill on the drinks. We were proactive and asked for the check since it was not known if we would have another opportunity. I'm glad I was able to visit Teague, TX because I now have one less reason to visit. We were visiting family and found this place on Yelp! There was just one review and it was low. But after reading the review, I decided it was not particularly helpful. So here is my take ... We visited for an early lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was clean and neat as a pin. The service was very prompt and friendly. We were served chips, salsa and drinks within a couple of minutes. The salsa tasted homemade. It was very flavorful and served warm. The chips were warm, light and crispy. The menu has an extensive variety and prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Chicken Verde Enchiladas. They were excellent! I was given a large plate with 3 overstuffed enchiladas of tasty, tender, juicy white meat chicken. The verde sauce was outstanding and generously ladled over the thick, melted cheese. Both the rice and beans were good too. Again, great flavors and portions. My dining partner tried a half order of nachos, the street tacos, and a jumbo mango margarita on the rocks. All were excellent! Our total bill was about $25. You cannot beat that price for such wonderful food and service. read more

Large gravel parking lot. The service is prompt and friendly. Chips and salsa are on point! Both are served warm, fresh and seems to never run out because the staff keeps an eye on the drinks, salsa and chips. Margaritas are pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. I've been here several times, on a couple occasions the food has been a little too greasy. The food is usually very good, fresh and piping hot when it gets to the table. I highly recommend any enchilada that's on the menu. read more

My husband and I eat here quite often. Our favorite thing to eat is the Tortugas (fried avocado) with chicken. My other top two would be the Shrimp Cocktail or Street Tacos. Enchiladas are also good. The staff is very friendly, and their new location in a bigger restaurant is very nice and clean. We always have great service. The salsa is also, by far, my favorite in the area. Slightly spicy, but to me tastes authentic. Plus, all the portions are a good size for the price! read more

Let me start by saying this place is GREAT. It's off the beaten path, but worth the effort to find. The food and service were excellent. As the other reviews state it's interior is pleasant & very clean even the bathrooms. If you expect to go to a fancy place this would not be you're choice, but if you like to eat at a clean place with well-seasoned and interesting flavored Mexican food give this place a chance! Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We were brought warm chips & warm salsa which were both good. On Sunday they have a Senior's Special of 2 enchiladas (beef, chicken, or cheese) with beans & rice for $5.99. I ordered the chicken & charro beans as I didn't want any rice. My husband ordered beef, refined beans, & rice. Then we started discussing choices of enchilada sauces which were numerous so decided to go with the ones they usually use: chicken with sour cream and beef with regular enchilada sauce. The enchiladas were generously filled with meat, covered with sauce and plates were hot. Both dishes had an interesting unique flavor unlike the usual Tex-Mex fare. Next time we come through we'll have a margarita & explore the menu. By the way, my husband set the gps as one of our favorites as we were both impressed with the food and service!! read more

Love everything. I prefer chicken fajitas with lots of bell pepper and they don't serve theirs with it but ask and they put a little in it. I ask for soft chicken taco with bell pepper and I love it. I even love the salsa, sometimes it's got too much cilantro which I don't like and the queso is fabulous. read more

As the chips and hot sauce entered the crevasse known as my mouth, I'll be honest, I was skeptical. The salsa was warm. The chips; room temperature. Water was normal. Next step: margarita. Slammed that puppy down because it tasted better than your wife's coochie on valentines night. As the illiterate waitress brought out my quesadilla, I was feelin a bit tipsy from the marg. But holy heck I never ate a good quesadilla like that. That'll make you dig up your grandma and smack her boney face til she wakes up and apologizes. Full and needing a bathroom break, I decided it was time to flame down some flan. Taste was good but it was thicker than yo mama on dollar milkshake day. Overall experience was good for the location and prices were decent. 10/10 recommend hitting this place up. Stay in school, say no to drugs, and avoid the street tacos. We used to eat here all of the time. The food was never great but it was edible. The last two times we went it tasted like 5hose cheap tv dinners you get at the grocery. They are nice, but the food has zero flavor. We stopped eating here. It is just easier to drive a few more miles for better food. read more

Food was ok, staff was unfriendly and would not come back to table to ask about meal or to refill my drink. I had to ask for check more then once because they were to busy on there phone watching something on it. Went to bathroom came back my food was gone and they did not offer to Replace it . They have best margaritas around. Staff is always friendly. We go almost weekly for 1/2 priced margaritas. I love their green salsa and street tacos. I recently found a new favorite, the Acapulco. This is a hometown restaurant and a popular place for many hometown people. read more
