Last minute late dinner plans heading towards Dallas. Otherwise, we don't live close to just go and eat here. The food was surprisingly good and it didn't make anyone sick. We had four different plates of enchiladas and ordered one small margarita to go and our total was $73.00. I had the cheese enchilada verdes and the sauce - delicious! My only complaint would be the watered down salsa that really didn't have any flavor and the strawberry margarita. Save your money and drink water. The margarita was not frozen at all and didn't have much tequila. It tasted like those dollar gallon jugs of punch you find at fiesta. On my way to Houston we stopped at this Mexican restaurant in Buffalo. I didn't really have much expectations since we were just hungry in middle of nowhere. However the place was popping and the services were very friendly. They checked up on us a lot even when there's a full house. The lunch menu prices were great and dinner items were very fairly priced. They brought us chips right away and salsa for everyone; we didn't even have to ask. Coming from Dallas, this is a huge step up. The taste of the food is pretty authentic and I was definitely satisfied. Passing thru and stopped here to eat lunch. Nice Mexican music greeted us and was hoping for a good experience. I had enchilada plate , husband had burrito plate. Everything tasted the same. Rice, beans, enchiladas. Just blah. No flavor. The service was not good. Our waiter was nice but he was like the only person working 5 or 6 tables. The greeter /chip /salsa/table cleaner lady just stood behind the counter staring at everyone . Was very awkward. We were looking for some hot food as we had traveled 6 hours from Lubbock when we found this place on Yelp. The address is wrong but when we looked around it was not too far off our route. Like someone else said, great restaurant on the way to and from Dallas if you want to eat something else than fast food, it's your typical tex-mex restaurant, if you order a regular burrito it will come out topped with melted-canned cheese "salsa"(though it's not specified on the menu if I'm not wrong). Took one star out just because the food is good but needs a bit of flavor, little extra salt and pepper. The Mango-Chamoy margarita was out of this world, I would drive all the way there just to have those margaritas every day. All the employees are nice and courteous. read more

Stopped by for dinner on Saturday. Started off with the complimentary chips and salsa. We requested a hot sauce that had more heat. We were brought two different kinds that were great and spicy!! We also ordered the chunky guacamole, which was fresh and delicious. The margaritas were very good and refreshing. We ordered the beef fajitas and street tacos with rice and beans for our meal. The fajita meat was so over cooked and bland. Ended up taking the meat home to our dogs. The street taco meat was also so overcooked and bland. Rancho Viejo hit the spot! After a long day of work I headed here for the margaritas and was hoping they'd be able to whip up some veggie fajitas since I don't eat animal products. The chips and the drinks were dank and every Thursday is half-off margs. All the workers were wearing masks but I wish they would've been more strict on the "no mask no entry" policy. The room isn't very big & I don't want to catch that SDE when you're walking inches from my table. That's not the reason I gave it four stars though. The service wasn't great- just a lot of me trying to get the attention of the waitresses to fill my water, salsa and chips. Though serving of rice, beans, pico, and guac for my fajitas were a bit small for me they made up for it in the heaping amount of vegetables and mushrooms they brought out on the skillet. Hopefully they'll add the veggie fajitas to the menu so I don't have to special order again and others can enjoy too. Overall I was impressed and hopefully you will be too. read more

Chips n salsa - some of the best I've had! Chicken fajitas - as good as I've had in Cozumel. Just walking up to the door already had me excited because you could smell the wonderful fajita outside!! The food was great!! I had the enchilada supreme plate with red sauce. It had great flavor and wasn't too spicy. The fajita steak was a nice touch very tender and great flavor!! Complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa didn't have that little kick but still had a good flavor. We also had a small quest which was really good. Customer service could have been a little more friendly but they did come by and check on us. Overall a great experience looking forward to going back to try some other menu items. read more

Great tasting Tamale lunch special! The beans were great, as I combined them with a shell filled with quest, and the rice. The tamales were on the mark. He ended up getting tired of battling the flys that kept landing on his plate so he pushed the plate away and let the flys have it! I ordered the shrimp diablo....meant to be shrimp stuffed with jalapeño & Monterrey jack cheese wrapped with bacon. Cheese was a log of cheese and not event melted. Bacon was uncooked. This place is directly off the 45 with quick easy access on and off. The food comes hot and the service is friendly. Great local spot. The combination plate with a taco, cheese enchilada, and chicken el carbon was tasty as was the ground beef chimichanga. The sauces and queso are very mild. This was very authentic and very good! Top shelf margarita was very tasty and smooth. If you like avocado you must try the fried avocado stuffed with fajita chicken and cheese! It was the best! I had one with cheese enchilada, rice and beans. My husband had the cheese enchilada with tamale and taco, which was sooooo good as well. I ate here this week with friends from work and overall it was okay, but have had better. The salsa had a decent flavor and was warm, and the food overall was average. It was relatively busy and the service was still good, but later in the week we ate at El Corral and enjoyed that meal a lot more. The service at Rancho Viejo was better and the pricing was better, but El Corral had the best flavor and variety by far. read more
