So I needed a storage facility, and was checking around the Rancho San Diego area. I wanted something inexpensive, convenient, and above all, SAFE. I checked online and found several in the area. EXPENSIVE. I found Rancho San Diego Self Storage and looked at the photos online, and was impressed with what I saw. Then I went to check the reviews on Yelp, because there are too many times where you wish you would have but you didn't, and it never ends well. The reviews were wonderful.... So, I decided to go check it out. I went this morning, and Lori and David were both in the office, and were absolutely awesome! Lori took me out and showed me what they had, and I found an awesome unit on the street portion. Super simple for me to drive up and unload. The facility is in a very clean cut neighborhood, and it was spotless. Very clean, very nice, and is gated, so not just anyone can come in. They have security cameras all over, and the place is absolutely immaculate! Lori was very helpful, explaining everything to me and giving me options for size, and let me know if the unit wasn't big enough, it was no problem to upgrade anytime. They had the nice locks for sale, same price as Home Depot, which made it very convenient for me to just pick it up there. I asked about boxes and if I saw any in the recycle bin could I take them....They said sure...so after a very smooth and pleasant transaction, I left. A short time later Lori called to let me know someone had just moved out and left a bunch of nice boxes, and they put them in my storage unit. Now that was going above and beyond what would ever be expected of them. That was so very cool of her to go the extra step for me. She could have easily just not bothered with it, and I would never have known the difference. I already know I made the best decision in choosing Rancho San Diego Self Storage. RSDSS has got to be the best storage facility in all of San Diego - hands down!! Always meticulously maintained, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and nice wide lanes provide plenty of room for driving/loading/unloading. The restrooms are spic N span and store in the office has all the basic storage/shipping necessities in stock. It is well lit at night with tons of cameras providing a true sense of security for you and your belongings. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable. I could go on..... All ground floor (drive up) units. No need for an elevator or dolly. A wide variety of sizes available at competitive rates. Gate hours are 6am to 8pm. Just be sure to pay on time - and to ask before using the trash. read more

This is one of the best places for self storage, I had such a great experience with them. The staff are very friendly, very helpful, and professional. I used one of the sea containers 20 ft units for storing all of my home furniture, it included everything sofas, bed, dining, electronics, clothes, etc.., I left them for two whole years without glancing at them. When I came back, they staff remembered me! They said that all should be just fine. I mean this storage unit has been in the direct sun, rain, it is a sea container in the outdoor lot!! The moment I opened my unit, I was shocked to see everything was exactly the way I left it two years ago, just a little dust that is all. I did not have any piece of furniture or electronics ruined or damaged because of it. You have got to know that if it has to be outdoor San Diego is unbeatable, so this place would give you a lot of room, cost effective, excellent customer service, and great gated and camera security storage units, what else could you ask for?! They also sell moving stuff at good prices as well. I most definitely recommend this place for storage. read more

I find it very disgusting that some people find strength in putting others down, only to try and elevate themselves - obviously something is mentally wrong with them and they really need to examine their ways/lives. I have been a customer of RSD Storage for over 20yrs. - yes years. During the time of which I have experienced a staff that is always willing to go way over and beyond their way to help. The access to all units is very easy and convenient, as well as all areas are clean and uncluttered. I truly do believe - the staff gives 110 percent of themselves each day, and consistently tries to help their clients in every way they can. I have recommended this place to many others, and they too have had positive experiences. They truly DO value their customers. I also can truly say.....if you can't say something good about a person or someones business.....then "shut up" - go somewhere else and cause trouble. As it's been said before - First - take a good look at yourself and your ways before you start pointing fingers at others. Life will be much more pleasant and worthwhile if you show a little love and courtesy to others first. Also, to the person that wrote these very negative comments -- try learning to pay your bills/obligations ON TIME and don't depend on others to patch up YOUR mistakes. read more

Best place to store your things! We moved out Sunday after being in our place here in Spring Valley for 15 years!The day before we went to reserve it and David was very helpful, knowledgeable, funny, and courteous. He answered any questions we had and gave us tips on using our storage unit. Rates were the cheapest we've seen and for the best part, all the units are downstairs so it's easier to move things in and out. It was fun being driven around on the little golf cart and we appreciated how easy it was to reserve our spot. The entire process was very easy and the only real important information you need is your drivers license (it can be expired lol) and your SSN. Moving supplies is relatively cheap and they sell the locks for your storage in the front office or you can bring your own. Initially, I felt very safe having my personal belongings or shall I say, basically our entire lives stored in that facility because there's 2 big flat screens in the front office with multiple security cameras everywhere. There's also some dumpsters for dumping and sometimes extra boxes. I HIGHLY recommend this place! We passed by this place literally for 15 years as we live across the street from it and now we finally got to try this place out! Use this place to store your things you guys! I used their on-line payment site and selected payment as outlined. Unfortunately it didn't work as described and only paid a portion of what I had selected. I then received a late payment charge. Problems and mistakes happen BUT!!! What happened next is NOT excusable. This is such a great company! They helped our school band with temporary storage. The facility has lots of cameras to help keep your stuff secure and give you a sense of security when you are there. i have had many storage facilities over the years,,,i refer to them as situation rooms...when there is a situation (selling my boat, moving, a relationship breakup)...i need more room...rsdss is the best...all ground level floors, a fantastic staff, will work with you if you need more time to pay...they are your friend, not your enemy...i could get into more stories, personally, how they have been superior to everyone else in the biz, however i will just say...try them...if they are not the most accomodating, friendly, professional staff..e-mail me back...or if you want more "nice" stories...i will e-mail them to you...barry webb...customer for 4 years and p s if you want to downsize (and pay less), they are great with that also... read more

Quick update! I'm still at RSD Self Storage, Terri has moved on to a new life in I believe it was Texas (you go girl!) and I have been working with David for the past year or so. He also has provided such great customer service! Even called me personally when my credit card on file had expired so I wouldn't receive a "late fee" and just continues to always "be there for me" when I have questions or issues! Was considering buying an RV and so I called him & Yes they Do have Storage for RV's as well! I had no idea (never even saw them onsight!) and at a reasonable cost as well. Best self-storage facility I have used. I have rented storage space in a number or facilities all over the city for business and personal items and this is by far the best storage company I have worked with. The facility is terrific: the space between buildings is generous so there's plenty of room to maneuver around other users' trucks and vehicles; you can drive up to your unit; conveniently located trash bins (yes, more than one), and I haven't had any problems--as I've experienced at several other storage facilities--with unwanted visitors. The staff is very helpful and friendly. When I initially inquired about renting a storage room, rather than just selling me on a space that was available and sending me on my way, they listened to what I needed and told me about a room that was coming available, which worked out best for my purposes. Their staff periodically called and kept me updated about when the other client was moving out and worked with me to set up a move-in date. I use the automatic bill-pay service and get a statement e-mailed to me every month that confirms that my account is up-to-date. read more
