Where do I begin?! I have been storing my items here for roughly 3 years now; this review is long overdue. This storage facility is THE BEST. Always well kept and the location is really convenient. Another bonus feature is the fact that the drive up units have motion censored lights, VERY convenient when needing to access your unit in the evenings. Now to mention the main highlights of this storage facility..... Brian and Miguel.(because let's face it, all storage units are basically made the same, but the difference comes in who manages them!) The guys that run this place are nothing short of amazing. Best customer service by far than any other storage facility I have used. (This includes next door where I was at for a couple years until switching over). Everyone has bad days, EXCEPT Miguel and Brian. Literally always the friendliest customer service, always doing checks around the facility, always addressing anything you bring to their attention promptly. Both gentleman go above and beyond and it does not go unnoticed! (I'm at my storage unit nearly everyday, so I can't help but to notice). The people who rent here are super respectful, there's never any obstruction to access my unit.(I've had this problem several times at other storage facilities). Since I have been there I have had the initial increase to $138....now it has jumped to $202. I have contacted them today to see why it has jumped in price only to get the answering service. We're writing to inform you of a necessary adjustment to the rental rate for your unit #E****. Starting August 1, 2025, the monthly rent for your space will be $161.00. First, this rating is not reflective of the staff/employees within the office at this location. It is based on the business practice that SecureSpace seems to have a history of doing with its customers. On 01/11/25 I rented a 5x5 space at the quoted price of $56 a month with the first two months being a $28 promotional rate. The move-in process was very smooth and the office staff very friendly. I then received a notice on 04/28/25 that my rate would be increased to $100 effective 06/01/25. The reason given for this increase was "...we periodically review and adjust our pricing to align with industry standards and ensure the continuous enhancement of our facilities and services." Not happy about this increase, I went onto Yelp and began to research other people's reviews. I found that for the last few years, many other customers have experienced that about the 5-month mark they received an unexpectedly large price increase. I spoke to the office manager and shared my concerns, she was very polite and understanding. She informed me she would share my concerns with the management team and she would inform me of the outcome. Unfortunately, when she did contact me it was to share that the price increase would remain. I shared with her how tough it must be to manage a location with business practices that can be perceived as a "bait and switch". I would not recommend renting from SecureSpace. If you do, inquire about getting a guarantee on your rental price for the unit you are renting. Another reason this practice seems unethical, today if I was a new customer renting a 5x5 unit the price would be $46 a month and the first two months $23 a month. I had rented a storage here for about 10 months and it was an easy online sign up and rental! They only made a fuss about my renter insurance but I solved this quickly with them. The staff is so friendly and competent. Move out was easy, the only thing the should change is if you move out early like I did , prorate it! I paid $205 for my 10x10 the 1st of the month, moved out by the 6th! They would not prorate because it has to be by the 3rd and it's in the contract, which is fine. I started renting in August , got the discount on my storage unit for a couple months and was expected to pay $ 137.00 for at least a year . Nope , Just received the notice that my rent went up $ 100.00 a month .same as all the other reviews .Stay away from this storage . Our club needed a larger space. We were happy with our original space here and were able to arrange for a larger space in the same building. Employees were professional and very helpful. We do have an eye on the random price-hiking so will keep our options open for a possible move to another facility. This rating is not reflective of the staff at the Rancho San Diego location. Mandy in particular is the facility manager at Rancho San Diego, who not only is an excellent business woman, but also is extremely polite and understanding. The problem appears to be at the corporate level, where as stated in numerous Yelp reviews, there is a bait and switch culture. I started with the original owner "A Storage Company", and they were bought out by SecureSpace, who took over my lease on 11/20/2020, which at the time was $119/month for a 10x10 unit. My rent rapidly increased, and by May of 2023 it had increased to $196.68 per month, by October of 2024 it increased to $271.52 per month and I received my recent increase notice which would make it $319.54 per month effective 9/1/2025. The current "book rent" at SecureSpace for a 10x10 unit ranges from $153 to $191 per month with a special of half off for (2) months. The question is why would corporate elect to charge a steady long term customer of (5) + years $319.54 per month, whereas a 1st time customer only has to pay a discounted rate of anywhere between $77 and $96 for (2) months and then the full rate that currently varies anywhere between $153 and $191 per month and most likely receive hefty rate increases over the years? It seems like a recipe that will lose both renters and money and makes no sense at all. Since my rates were certainly way above market, a request was sent to SecureSpace corporate to reduce only the increase which they flatly denied for no given reason. I have since elected to use another storage facility and am currently paying ~ $200 per month with similar amenities. If you are planning on renting for more than a year, please check out the Yelp reviews and you will see an ironic common practice of discrimination against long term renters. read more

Facility is maintained meticulously! Pricing is very competitive and they have promotions monthly. I appreciate the accessible hours as many other storage facilities close early, they're open till 10pm! Staff is super friendly and accommodating!They are always out and about the property which makes me feel like my things are safe! Josie and Jenelle helped me replace an existing lock off my storage onsite, I didn't have to call a locksmith which I truly appreciated. predatory charges & bad communication: signed up for 2 months 50% off but only gave 45 prorating at 1st of month. Only at end of signup told admin fees and can only use they sell lock in house. Then I was contacted for an issue, but the phone # in voicemail and e-mail was wrong. So I had to physically show up during office hours and they said nevermind about issue. Then when moving out a rat shredded cellophane and the debris got in hall. No broom accessible and they charged me $40 (wanted to do $100). I later asked for the one broom they have and they didn't even bring it. Oh and door popped off track, didn't stay in place, but couldn't get there during day to deal with. They don't refund balance I was charged moving out and they kept rest of month. Terrible. read more

Fantastic Experience. Brian at the front desk made it such an easy move in/out experience. The security at this facility is impressive. They even provided big flat bed/trolleys at each entrance... free for us to use for moving things to and from the unit. The price was very reasonable. The unit even had AC and tall ceilings! I met a few people in the same building when I was there a few times, and everyone was so nice/friendly. Everything exceeded expectations. I like everything about this location . It's only a few years old and has climate control for indoor units. Staff are very friendly and they usually have discount for first time renters. Very secure with gate-code and to enter into the building of storage units you need code as well . Facility has cameras everywhere so no worries of thief . Beware of the fine print- if you do not give 10 day notice, they charge you for the entire month. Not only that, they jacked up prices and I'm stuck paying for a month of space that isn't even being used. The door to my unit has been missing it's keypad for months so had to take the long way to get to c2080. Don't make the same mistake I did, better yet, AVOID secure space! Ripoff! After calling numerous storage spaces to obtain a parking spot to store a vehicle outside it was becoming clear that this was a difficult endeavor and I had to go through multiple central dispatch systems. Rather than find a storage close to my home they wanted to look at one of their 20 or 30 locations and sell me one of those. Secure space located a spot for me immediately at the facility I wanted. The local staff at the facility could not have been more friendly helpful and straightforward. Within one hour of locating this facility I had already signed a contract and was ready to move in.
