Best dog park we have ever been too! Well maintained, separate areas for small/big dogs, several benches, plenty of shade, and very nice grass! Sometimes it can be a lil muddy so don't wear good shoes and bring a towel to wipe off your pups feet before getting in the car. Another thing we love is everyone we have come in contact with here really obeys the rules of "going to a dog park" if somebody's pup gets in a "mood" they leave as not to cause issues for others (we also have left when our dog was getting a bit too bossy). Simi Dog Park at Lost Canyon has a RULE/LAW (listed on the bulletin board) regarding a maximum of 4 dogs per person at a time! Why is this not enforced? There are people there that bring 10-15 Huskies and 20-25 dogs that they dog sit for the day! ENFORCE the RULE, please!!! read more

Todays fun dog drive was from Glendale to Simi Valley to this really great dog park. It's a May gray day and we came here with the pooch. This is the largest, most grassy park we have been to. There's a huge upper area and a large lower area. Plenty of room to spread around and two parking lots. It's a drive but worth it. Obviously in a hot day it wouldn't be as fun - limited shade trees. i've been bringing my dogs here for over 15 years. mostly big dogs, but now i have my first small dog i'm realizing EVERYONE with a big dog will let them run around in the SMALL DOG section.... it's kind of annoying i've been trying to let my dog get activity for the last 4 months and EVERY time i come, every huge dog over 70lbs is in the small dog park. this place needs better rules or regulations. or a medium size dog area... but something needs to change. It would be different if it was nice big dogs but most of the time the little dog park is taken its always an aggressive pitbull or rottweiler then my terrier starts shaking out of fear and i have to take her home. read more

I have met a great bunch of friendly people with different breeds. I adopted a husky named Tyson that has epilepsy. Super friendly dog. Then I adopted Sam who plays ruff but doesn't hurt dogs. And the white husky was hit by a car in July 2021. I adopted him in August. Tres Leche is his name. He has a great time howling with his friends and plays all day. The simi valley dog park is a good place to bring your dog. If I ever adopted a puppy, I would not bring it to the big dog side until the dog can handle the bigger dogs. They do get picked on. So yeah, I go to this place with my 130 pound Doberman. He doesn't like being tag team humped by a pair of obnoxious Huskies that ambushed him at the gate, but what else would you expect by bringing your dog into a gated area with 20 to 100 large canines swirling in a dog mosh pit. Some guy on a bench working his Grindr account doesnt notice his dog taking a giant crap near the entrance and doesn't clean it up, and some little kid walked through it, so it'll be a stinky ride home for that family. There's water faucets and poop scoops, so save a plastic tree and go green...or brown...or black...or mushy orange if you fed him fast food. Its a beautiful view up there above Simi Valley, and I overheard one hippie say it's his favorite place to get high, so it must be pretty good compared to the other dog parks that the depressed alcoholics take their rescue dogs with three legs too..."I think its that Sepulvada Basin place" said the drunk guy with the paralyzed dog with wheels to replace his back legs and drinking his vodka in Sprite bottle to some other sick looking fellow. Yes, Simi is clean, but don't wear your good kicks in there...you'll be sorry...unless you are just sitting around like that Grindr dude. If your male dog has nuts, I wouldnt take him in there...those pet owners with neutered dogs will go apecrap on you. Great park, lots of grass, 99% of the dogs are good natured. But here are a few tips: 1. Dogs fight sometimes, that's their nature, but I have seen owners fight over dog fights. Completely stupid. I leave when the humans can't control themselves. 2. Dogs poop, so pick up your dogs poop!!! 3. Some people bring there large dogs to the small dog side because that say their big dog is timid. If your dog is 60 pounds and he steps in a 10 pound dog, that's a problem. Keep your big dogs to the appropriate side. 4. Dogs are not little humans with fur coats. Oh wow, this dog park is amazing. I brought my little doggie to this park and he absolutely loved it. The dog park is located up on top of the hill. It has its own parking lot. The dog park has a side for big dogs and small dogs and of course is double gated for security purposes. The park features a large, grassy area to play in. It even has a small hill which dogs can up and down on. This park has a few benches, but people were just standing around playing with their dogs or other dogs and talking to people. Their were so many cute friendly dogs. The owners are friendly and everyone kind of watches each other's dogs. There is a water fountain and also random water bowls throughout the park. I highly recommend this place. I even think it's worth thit drive since there's so much space to run. This place is Koa approved!! read more

We travel a lot with our high energy dog - we are always seeking out new places for her to play to reward her for her time riding so well in the vehicle. This is the nicest dog park we have ever been to. So spacious, lots of room for run and play. Ample parking. Even a Porta potty! And the view! Small dog area, big dog area. Nice people. Lots of water buckets, pooper scoopers, baggies and the maintenance level kept up here is outstanding. There seems to be mesh all the way around the park fence bottom, maybe to keep the snakes out. Lots of shaded areas and some picnic tables. Our dog loved it here too and we will look for opportunities to return here. Will plan one day for sunset time! read more

I was in town for a week and brought my 7 month old puppy to run and play with other dogs on the small dog side. He's very friendly so he had no issues socializing but even though I had no scary encounters keep in mind these are still animals. There was one older man (who said he was a trainer )who didn't keep an eye on his dog which kept humping others saying "that's how he exerts dominance." Um, this is a dog park to play, not exert dominance like you own the place. Aside from him, everyone was welcoming and kept up with picking up after their dogs. Update to prior review. We have fine-tuned our dog park visits by hanging in the small dog area. My puppy has a great time and has made many dog friends here. In addition, we have enjoyed the slower middle of the day visits, either late morning or early afternoon. Most people are very friendly and we enjoy the mellower crowds. I highly recommend visiting as often as possible with your pup as socialization and off-leash running is so important for dogs. read more

Really well maintained dog. One of the best I have ever been to. Each area for small and large dogs are large and filled with grass! Have well-manicured grass at a dog park can be hard to come by but this one has plenty. It has nice water stations and benches / tables throughout the entire park. The only downside is that it can get pretty muddy. But that's only a downside for the owners, the dogs don't mind at all! Plenty of parking and had a scenic view over Simi. My dog tends to be a bit on the anxious side at dog parks and this is the first one she'll actual venture out on her own and feel comfortable enough to roam around. Highly recommend! read more

Leaving a 1 star review to get your attention. This park is actually amazing. Huge. Beautiful. Usually great pet parents. Two sections for big an small. Pales for water everywhere. Real grass. But today there was an older couple with a Malinois that they kept boasting was a puppy. This puppy (size is a full grown) looked timid and hesitant to interact. My dog was just sniffing a tree and this Malinois attacked him. I know my dog got hurt because he yelped twice. (My Dog is 70 pound lab). That's not the main issue. The thing is the owners. Were standing. And as this was happening. And I'm running towards the dogs they SIT DOWN ON THE BENCH! No reaction. They just let their dog continue to go after mine. My dog was doing everything to get away I yelled "Get your dog " and only then did the man grab his dog. I immediately walked my dog out to the car. He is limping and guarding his hind leg. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back. IF YOU ARE GOING TO COME TO THIS WONDERFUL DOG PARK - TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DOG. Nice dog park tucked in the hills of Simi Valley. It has separate yards for large and small dogs which makes it nice if you need to keep them separated. They have a good water source and plenty of trash cans and pooper scoopers so that you can clean up after your dog. My dogs love it. read more

Awesome dog park in the hills of Simi Valley. This park is really big and has 2 separate areas for large and small dogs. Water spigots and buckets are available for use. There are no bathrooms but you're close to a park so it's not a far walk. The only issue is there is not very much shade so I recommend early morning or late evening if it's going to be a warm day. read more

Pro's -AMAZING VIEW -Dog owners that respect others -large open spaces -excellent parking -an area for large dogs and -a separate area for small dogs -LOTS OF GRASS, most other dog parks are dirt or mulch lots -Water buckets for the dogs -a relatively small amount of uncollected dog poop (owners clean up their own mess) -good for kids above the age of 7 or 8 Con's -poorly planned tree placement does not provide enough shade for the benches -not enough covered seating structures -not open at night time -water pump issues are routine -The watering schedule leaves the grass muddy in the mornings, and the soil was never amended to provide proper drainage -has only a porta potty, not permanent toilets read more

This is one of the nicest dogs parks in the greater Los Angeles area, and my dogs and I have been to many. It's set into a cliffside and has a really lovely view, especially at sunset. It's almost all grass, which is unheard of for a dog park. And both sides, the big dog area and the little one, are super-spacious, so there's plenty of room to hang out and run around without having to feel like you're hovering over other dogs and people. I'm afraid to visit this park now. My 9 lb dog and I were attacked on the small dog side, by a large, aggressive dog who shouldn't have been in there. Of course its owners were entitled and obnoxious. (Isn't that often the case?) Fortunately no blood was drawn, but it was very distressing. These parks should have some sort of rangers on duty to enforce the rules, and get these belligerent dogs and their owners out! read more

One of the best dog parks to bring your four legged children. There are plenty of great views as well as plenty of space for your dogs to run around and enjoy themselves. It does get hot, so later in the afternoon or in the morning would be a great time to bring your dog if the weather is going to be hot that day. One of the most beautiful dog parks I've seen. Unfortunately, irresponsible dog owners sent our german shepherd puppy to the vet. If you have an aggressive dog, it should not be at a dog park. If your dog is spooked easily and/or unpredictable, it should also not be at a dog park. Your incompetence as a dog owner is not the problem of other responsible owners. Our 5 month old puppy was on the big dog side of the park and was dominated by several off leash dogs. In addition, he was snapped at by one he approached to sniff.The dog looked to be owned by a regular to the park. The snap was what sent him to the vet. Regrettably, we were surprised by the incident and didn't think to obtained pertinent information before we left to file a complaint. I hope this review finds future puppy owners. We will be back at a different time and day to see if this was just a bad day. (incident happened on Tuesday 5/4/2016 @ approx. 1pm) If it was your dog that bit ours, please think twice on returning with that dog. If it was a human child that came up behind your dog, it would have been a much bigger problem. *UPDATE* He currently has a staple in his head and is on a Rx antibiotic. read more

Eeeeek, I almost want to keep this park a secret! lol it's the PERFECT dog park. All the dogs and their owners are awesome and friendly with of course a few rare exceptions, the few who litter and don't pick up after their dogs. Other than that all the dogs are friendly and playful to one another. The park is really well taken care of and has water, water bowls, poop scoops, benches, and picnic tables and drum roll a breath taking view of Simi Valley. Just the location alone is drop dead gorgeous. There's a really good vibe, which I think influences the dogs to be on good behavior. The park is divided in two: big dogs and small dogs. There's a fence that divides the two sides which leads me up to my favorite part abut the whole park. I think it's absolutely adorable and entertaining watching the big dogs and the small dogs run up and down the fence. It's harmless, and probably a lot of fun for the dogs. I haven't seen any aggressive behavior from the dogs, maybe just some minor reactions from the first encounter, but it's nothing serious. I had a stigma about dog parks since the ones I've seen or read about are usually crowded and reeking of piss and poo with rude owners and misbehaved dogs. This park has some stank but it's not awful. It's a great place for you and your dog to mingle with other cute dogs and it's safe to bring your children here. Tips: Bring hand sanitizer or wet wipes to sterilize yourself especially if you're wearing open toe shoes or shorts or if you handled a toy ball. It's a dog park there is piss and poo everywhere. It can get really hot even in the late afternoon (about 90 F in the summer) and shade is limited and could be casting away from where you are sitting, so bring a hat and sun glasses, SPF, and a water bottle, take precautions to avoid heat stroke or sun poisoning. There are some community tennis balls on site so help yourself. read more

Great place to bring your dog, there were some pits and I have a Goldendoodle, so I was very apprehensive and I was right in being so... the dogs were all over him in a very aggressive way and I had to jump in the middle of it. Their owners were right there getting their dogs too, I was thankful. So I just went to the other side where it was separate and had him play there. The park is big and I was able to tucker him out in no time. He had time to play and even went to the little dog side and made friends. This was my first time and now I know what to do when I come back. So far, so good. Thumbs up! read more

I just started taking my little klee kai puppy here regularly and she LOVES it! She starts going crazy the second we pull into the parking lot. I like that it's separated by small/large dogs, and both spaces have ample amounts of room for everyone to run around. Even when the park is crowded, there is still plenty of room for play. The park itself is beautiful with tons of grass, water bowls, and shaded benches. The only critique I would have - and this isn't even about the park - is that people sometimes don't watch their pups or pick up after them. It's great to see everyone off-leash running around and having a good time, but you should still be mindful to make sure that your pup isn't in a situation that is overwhelming him/her and clean up so that the park stays clean for everyone. We've made it a regular weekly routine to come here and can't wait for our next visit! :) read more

Exceeded my expectations! Took my maltipoo Stella here to meet and play with other dogs and she had a blast! I love the fact that the dog park is split up between big dogs and small dogs. Stella played with the smaller dogs and loved it! There are several poop scoopers set around for owners to pick up after their doggos, nice touch! Do beware as some owners don't pick up after their furry friends. Lots of water bowls out so that's nice! Overall very satisfied. Came on a Sunday around 1pm and it was fairly busy so there were lots of other pups for my dog to play with. Parking was easy to find! The view is also a great touch! Will be back! read more

Best to come when the sun sets a bit (after 6PM in the summer) or there may not be many people/dogs around to play with. This is by far the cleanest and probably the most peaceful dog park I've been to. Yes, there were a couple inattentive doggie owners that did not pick up after their dog, but it's still the cleanest park I've been to! I love that this park is hidden towards the back end of the semi newly built homes in Simi and love at how peaceful the whole area is. You can't help but feel gratitude when you're surrounded my the mountains and your furbaby having fun with others. The parking can get crowded and I'm sure can overflow. Thankfully when we came, we found a spot in front. All dogs enter at the middle of the park and then separates (big dogs to the left, small to the right). Since my dog is small, I can only speak on the right side of the park. Once you enter the small side, there is an adorable dog house water fountain with two spouts and of course trash cans and some doggie bags around the park.
